As a result of Covid-19 business closings for the past 3 months I was badly in need of a haircut. I tried this new modern barber shop one block west of CVS across Dempster in Morton Grove where I had my hair cut by Varten, a young experienced barber who did an excellent job! He formerly worked at a shop in Skokie before opening this shop of his own in February, just before the pandemic forced it to close. It's a spotlessly clean shop with all new furniture and equipment. Varten observes all the Covid precautions so you can feel safe and comfortable coming here which I highly recommend. I've been looking for a new barber for over a year now. Tried so many different places and even paid an arm and a leg at some of them like Floyd's 99. Varten's is only a few minutes from my house and I never knew it existed until driving by the other day. I just went in today and it's not only extraordinarily clean especially during COVID-19 but the haircut and beard trim/lineup is probably the cleanest and best I've had in a while. He also let's you know clearly what would look good if you're unsure how you want to get your haircut. His prices are also so incredibly reasonable. Definitely my new trusted barber. read more

I saw this place next to my sushi place and decided to try it out. Local business with a good location and easy service. Cash only, but with $14 for a cut, it is so worth it. The guy was friendly and nice. He was especially considerate of covid regulations by wearing a mask, sanitizing everything, and keeping distance. It was very nice inside and out.
