I was telling my wedding party as well as my husband how to stand and what to do.. I found that to be a huge time waster. I feel that when I'm paying $$$$ for a service, the vendor should do everything. I feel as though my husband and I have a bunch of pictures of us just standing there because we were given no direction. I wanted some cool and fun shots with the wedding party and got them all in the same spot doing the same thing with me and my husband in front. There is also no uniformity in the formal shots. One guy has his hands in his pocket the other has it down, etc. Disappointed and upset that I will never get another chance to get the pictures we hoped for. I also found the way she worked out the payment a little odd. Every other vendor called, emailed, or reminded me when payment was due she just assumed i had sent a check and then made me get it to her before the day of when i hadnt. I had 8 vendors to keep straight! My advice, work harder on taking charge. Being a photographer is more than just editing photos .. half of being a photographer is setting up the shots. Then I stumbled across Sara's photoblog. It was obvious that she had talent. From her blog it appeared that she'd been a professional photographer for several years shooting primarily child/maternity/family sessions and was only recently breaking into shooting weddings. At the time she'd only shot one or two weddings but the results were fantastic. So I shot her an email to see about an engagement shoot. Not only did the photos for the engagement shoot turn out great but my fiance and I both felt very comfortable with her. She's sarcastic and has a great sense of humor like us so we were immediately at ease, and it shows in the photos. She was great with the turn around time, basically had them completely touched up and edited in the exact time she'd stated it would take. Since then she's done some more weddings and the photos posted on her website/photo blog demonstrate consistent high quality talent. I trust her wholeheartedly with my newborns as she swaddles them and puts them in various positions. The 1 year cake smash session was so fun and Ann made everything so easy. She accommodated my color requests and decorated beautifully. I'm looking forward to the next cake smash session and I'm hoping to get Christmas pictures sometime in the next couple of years, too. My friend referred me to Ann Lyle and I am SOOO GLAD SHE DID. Despite being so close to Christmas, I contacted her anyway just to see and once she told me she had availability, I took it! She has a quick response time and pictures may take up to two weeks. She was able to get it to us sooner. The experience was awesome. She has a new studio in Framingham. There is plenty of parking spaces. The suite is on the L floor. The studio is so pretty! There are so many lovely props and backgrounds and it is so comfortable to not have to worry about anything. Ann is super down to earth and very relatable. From my experience of having many professional photographers from my engagement to wedding to family and to another newborn, Ann is the best! Her photos are so amazing and she made my newborn look like a beautiful princess. You will not regret it! She responded very quickly and was able to book soon, which is what we were hoping for. In getting ready for the photo shoot, I messaged back and forth with her about what we should wear, to include sending pictures of our outfits. She gave good feedback and recommendations. I was nervous about making sure we looked good together, but not matching TOO well and looking cheesy. I felt really good about the outfit decisions after working with her, which made me confident in the shoot. We booked an hour long shoot and decided to start in our home and then transition outside. Now my family consists of my husband and me, plus our dog and two cats. Though our pets were not the most cooperative during the shoot, Marina was very patient and happy to work with us to get decent photos with all the pets (yep, even the cats). We ended up spending about 45 min in our home and then drove to a nearby park to take photos outside. Marina found a great spot to start and after taking several shots there, we walked around and went to a spot my husband and I frequented. We spent about 45 min there too, so the total time we had with her was about 1.5 hrs. She did not even mention the extra time and before we were done, wanted to make very sure there weren't any other locations or shots we wanted. We really appreciate the fact that she cared and wanted to make sure we were satisfied. The pictures turned out beautifully.
