Vail Fucci came to a trade show I was at. They were doing headshots for exhibitors and attendees. First this is a great idea for your trade show, was really appreciated by every one. But the women were also really fun. It was like the photoshoots you see on TV etc. Very positive and reassuring just a lot of fun for what was about 60 seconds. The way it was set up was really cool. You scanned a QR took a selfie and few minutes after your shoot you got a link to your photos. Again very cool. I admit I had a slight issue retrieving the non-proof photo, but I emailed and they responded, literally immediately and went WAY above and beyond to fix it. Oh and I didn't even mention the photos were fabulous. Seriously an area for headshots was awesome for a trade show, I could see it being great for a corporate event or perhaps an event for graduating students. I cannot recommend the people at Vail Fucci highly enough. read more

Everyone on Yelp already knows that Vail is a wonderful photographer, but I'm here to tell you that she is an extraordinary photography teacher, too! I'm a graduate of Vail's one-day crash course: "How to Get Off the Green Rectangle: DSLR Beginner's Class." After spending a boatload on a fancy DSLR, I figured it only made sense to learn how use it. Vail and I met for a one-on-one session at the library. She taught me all the basics: focal length, depth of field, exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and even walked me through all the various settings and menu options on my camera. (Vail is knowledgeable in both Nikon and Canon models.) She taught me how to take pictures of the night sky, how to make everyone in a group photo appear in-focus, how to make the flash less harsh, and how to make whites (like snow and paper) look whiter. Most importantly, Vail typed up an invaluable guide explaining all the things she taught me, so I didn't forget anything when I got home. Because I took tons of notes and asked even more questions, our lesson took several hours. But Vail never made me feel stupid, remained patient when I kept making the same mistakes, and welcomed every question I had. I walked into our lesson not knowing a thing about my camera and left feeling empowered and excited to put my new knowledge to use. It's almost been a year since I've taken Vail's class, and I shot my sister's baby gender reveal party -- all on manual camera settings!! The photos came out just gorgeous. My wife and I got married on June 2, 2012 in the pouring rain. Vail was very thorough in the planning process with us, making sure she knew not only what types of shots we wanted but also who was to be in them, their names, and also how they were all related. By the time the wedding came around, she knew our family tree! We were married at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers and had planned on making use of the grounds for the formal pictures. Though the rain changed those plans, there never was any sense of chaos as we had to improvise for Plan B. Vail immediately knew what would look good and who needed to be where. Vail took it all in stride and it didn't seem to phase her at all. She was great! Vail showed up early and stayed late and didn't charge us for the extra time. In fact, hours after she was scheduled to be done with us, she was still there rocking out on the dance floor while snapping off pics of guests having a good time. We loved it! We didn't want a traditional, formal reception so opted for a more casual cocktail-style reception with an emphasis on people having a good time and Vail fit the atmosphere perfectly. We had a photo wall set up for our guests to use, with a pocket point-and-shoot camera set up on a tripod for people to use on their own. Vail ended up helping out on that quite a bit, using her own equipment, and the results far exceeded our expectations. At the end of the night, Vail offered to come back to Glen Magna with us on a nice day in the future to reshoot our portraits in the gardens free of charge. She said she had such a great time and felt so bad because of the unfortunate weather that she'd be happy to do that for us. We took her up on that offer and it was another great experience with her. Bottom line is that if we had to do it again we'd pick Fucci's Photos in a heartbeat. Vail is fantastic! I met her when she generously donated her time to take pictures for my non-profit pro bono. I then hired her for my wedding in Marthas Vineyard, and everyone loved her. We did an engagement shoot with her a month prior to the wedding as practice, and when I told her which pictures we liked taking and which weren't really "us" she took all of that into careful consideration on our wedding day. Before the ceremony, she scouted the location, memorized the names of all the people in the wedding party, and went above and beyond to be prepared. We called Vail because of her amazing portfolio of journalistic and formal shots. Few people can do both. The portraits looked natural, and she captured emotions like few others can. SHORT VERSION - her pictures of our wedding day were magnificent, and we couldn't have hoped for more. MORE DETAIL - After a few minutes of speaking with her, we knew she was the one - and OHMIGOSH are we lucky we did. Vail was there for us, literally there for us, every step of the way. Her responsiveness is unbelievable - and Vail was a guide through the whole wedding process. Vail's care and compassion carries over into every single thing she does. A few immediate family members have memory and mobility issues. Vail drove to our hotel a month before (more than an hour from her house), scouted around, and found amazing locations right in the hotel parking lot. You would never know! On the day of, one family member fell and cut his forehead deeply. Vail had her trusty "emergency kit" - she put an invisible band aid on - it was the perfect size to cover the cut (a big one), and no one really could even tell. She also fixed the bride's dress with pliers from her magic pack at one point. After the wedding, we heard similar stories from other family members about how Vail swooped in and made a situation better. She did so many behind the scenes kindnesses, that many in our family even called her our guardian angel. I think there's some truth to this. Vail has such a talent for building trust so people enjoy having their picture taken during the portraits. When our ring bearer and flower girl were shy, Vail did the most hilarious booty dance to get them laughing. She's known as the dancing photographer - and here's the scoop. Vail is an amazing dancer - she dances to capture the event, not to become the event. She also dances to get people dancing- during a lull in our reception, Vail got a dance circle going, complete with people clapping. Then she hopped out, pulled the bride and me (groom) for one of the best photo ops ever. Time and time again, we were blown away by her creativity. Did I mention the pictures were BREATHTAKING? Vail also does a preview slideshow on the i-pad, usually on display on a stand for the whole reception. She saw my parents were tired and sitting at their table. So Vail changed the plan and brought the i-pad to them. They were so happy, and thrilled to see the pictures. And then, because she is brilliant and understands people so well, she brought the i-pad show the bride's parents. Vail is one of the most talented photographers I have ever met. Since the photographer is the person you spend most of your day with, the fact that she is one of the most wonderful people we have ever met almost guarantees you will have the day of your dreams.
