This is a very cool place. I do have to say the menu has changed. A number of previous pictures…read morethat people posted here of there food is not available on the new menus. But the dinner my daughter and I had was delicious. We were seated right away. Up to the roof top we go. There are 4 levels to this restaurant. Each has their own vibe. The service was top notch, always attentive to our needs. Everyone was very friendly here. This restaurant is great for large groups. They have a number of rooms that can accommodate 15 to 20 people in an intimate setting. The roof top view is cool if you are a people watcher. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.

Out front of Good Burger, it was hard to tease out which menu was for what restaurant, but I guess it didn't matter because the second floor was the bar where the night cap was made and brought upstairs. Up on the rooftop, the setting was whimsical, naturey, romantic. It was great to sit on cushiony seats under dim lighting with lots of greens hanging above and on the walls. The street view below was, well, of the street. For a weekend night, it was desolate and for awhile, we had the whole roof to ourselves (minus the two servers with nothing to do). For my one drink, I selected a mojito swoon (ginger, lime). It was pretty much a very refreshing lemonade with only a slight hint of alcohol - but that's the theme in most cocktails I had in Tulum. Our poor waitress came by several times to check in on us out of boredom, which was nice, but also weird at the same time given it was clear the place was dead, so it seemed like she was coming to our table too often.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") Culture is seeping out of every corner, and the rustic vibe and images truly make the atmosphere part of the dining experience. Lalo greeted us at the door right away and was just spectacular throughout the entire meal. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. His care and attention really heightened the whole evening for us. Before our main course, we were surprised with a complementary appetizer dish that was out of this world! It came with small empanadas, sopes, fresco cheese with beet jelly, garlic butter, nut bread, orange with worm salt, and a tomato cream cheese spread. I honestly couldn't believe all of that was on the house. For our main dishes, we ordered the Chile en Nogada and the Metztli. Neither disappointed! Both the nogada sauce and the black mole were addictive and perfectly executed. We finished with the Cetli (the Mexican sweet corn cake) for dessert, and the chocolate Kahlúa sauce tied everything together beautifully. Yes, this place is a bit pricey, but it is worth it from beginning to end. They even include a mazapán with your bill, which is such a sweet touch. I won't hesitate to come back!
