The worst part was the terrible service from the waiters; especially from this older man who was rude and disrespectful to the customers. To make it even worse, their prices are outrageous! A MINI empanada is $3.50 each and a can of coke is also $3.50 each and you can check on their website the ridiculous meat dish prices! Don't bother trying this restaurant, it will definitely not be worth your money!!!

It's a traditional form of Argentinian barbecue on the open fire. I've tried Brazilian rodizio and Venezuelan arepas but that was near the extent of my Latin American foray so it was exciting to taste the cuisine at this hidden gem. The must-get menu item is their charcoal grilled chicken. It's sort of akin to Portuguese chicken but in comparison the meat here is more juicy and better seasoned. The half chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender with slightly smoky flavours, then even tossed in chimichurri sauce. Perhaps greasy yet each meaty bite is satisfying! Honourable mention also goes to their empanadas. A pretty sight: golden baked crust folds over the fresh beef filling, that might be even better by the dozen. And at their price point, I can see why guests generally agree La Parrilla is a 5-star visit. I ordered ahead and the food was ready for pickup upon arrival to avoid any wait. Owner Serge was friendly about offering an extra sauce on the side along with chimichurri tossed on the chicken. Definitely get that sauce, as it adds dimensions to the asado / grilled meat. It's not easy for family businesses to operate these days, so I applaud that La Parrilla charcoal churrasqueria continues to offer top notch food from this little plaza.

It's a cool spot and I have nothing negative to say except they aren't open everyday and they dont always have my favourite ones, the butter chicken and the carne con queso. I am a big fan of empanadas, especially the Argentinian ones, so this was a must visit.... Susan Arevalo and her siblings, Claudio and Pedro started the wholesale business making their mother's traditional empanada recipe. Now, the handheld turnovers pay tribute to their Argentinian culture and also the diversity of the city with over 20 different not-so-typical flavors.....from the Spicy Pork and Kimchi, which was inspired by their love for Korean food and the fact that they live in Korea town to the Jerk Chicken, which was added due to Pedro's affinity for spice, there's an empanada for any palate. We loved the dough and the fillings of all the ones we tried...it was a nice place to stop for a snack that you can share with friends. If you drop in, you can choose from any of their daily flavors, but if you want any flavor from their large varied menu, you need to order in advance and they will make it for you. There's a minimum of 3 empanadas of each type per order and a minimum order of 12 for all pre-orders.

First time at this restaurant, and let me just say... I will definitely be back!…read more The restaurant has a really nice vibe. It's not one of those places where everyone is yelling over each other and you leave with a headache. You can actually have a conversation without saying, "Huh?" every five seconds. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were great. They also take allergies seriously, which I really appreciate. My sister is sensitive to spices (poor thing ). Me? I'm the type who would probably ask for extra hot sauce on hot sauce. We were seated right away, and our waitress, Kaily (I really hope I got her name right!), came over before we even had a chance to open the drink menu. She was super sweet, friendly, and had such a welcoming smile. Then... poof! Like Tinker Bell flew by and borrowed her for another mission, she disappeared into the restaurant. She got so busy with other tables that we had to wait about 20 minutes and finally asked another staff member to let her know we were ready to order. Honestly, I was about to send out a missing person's report. Then the food decided to take the scenic route to our table. Personally, I don't mind waiting. Maybe I've traveled to Europe one too many times, but I've learned that a good meal is an experience, not a race. If I'm going out to eat, I'm there to relax and enjoy it. My sister, however, wasn't feeling well and was hoping the food would arrive a little faster, so she wasn't exactly sharing my Zen attitude. Was the wait worth it? Absolutely! I had the steak with mushrooms and a side salad, and it was cooked perfectly. My sister had the salmon with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a salad, and she loved hers too. I also ordered the Virgin Passion Fruit Mojito. Let's just say... we weren't meant to be. Next time I'll stick with the classic virgin mojito because sometimes you don't need to reinvent a perfectly good wheel. Overall, great food, generous portions, a relaxing atmosphere, and staff who genuinely care about allergies. A tiny improvement in the timing of the service, and this place is an easy 5 stars in my book. Looking forward to coming back... and hopefully Tinker Bell lets Kaily stay at our table a little longer next time.

Which was surprising. The worst part was the food. Appetizer of beef Goyza was good. Steak was TERRIBLE. What did I do to deserve this "salad"? It's almost offensive. $50 for a plate of fries and a cold steak. I have never been served a cold steak in my life. I was too embarrassed to send it back. The dessert was good, but the birthday surprise was not on the house which was odd for a $200+ tab. We will not return. Nothing special. Cold steak and that depressing salad is unforgivable.
