We made a reservation an hour before closing. We hoped they would send us our site before the office closed. I tried to call and no answer. I was a bit concerned when we got there and there was no paperwork for us. However their system was super simple to pick an open site. They had a cabinet that had available sites. I put our information on it and said we already paid and dropped it in the box. We were out before the office opened and shortly after received a check out email. Lots of places won't let you checkin after the office is closed. This was a super great spot for a last minute quick overnight stop. read more

So far we think this is a very nice, small, clean RV park up on a great little hill. No issues with check in procedure. Office personnel very pleasant. Pricey ($46) with no military discount, AAA or anything but KOA. Some back ins have views of the town and mountains; others have blockage behind them. Great pull through sites. Sites have concrete parking, very groomed gravel, picnic table and bench, full hookups, cable and basic WiFi. Dogs on leash can walk all over and there is a fenced well kept dirt dog park with a cover and two small benches. Apparently, there is a pool and laundry facility, and I believe propane is sold. read more

No power when we arrived and no emergency contact number. We left to stay somewhere that was safe and that could provide the services they advertised. Campground owner Leah refused to offer even a partial refund to us even though we didn't stay and due to the blackout. Avoid this Campground at all costs. The owner doesn't care whether her guests can sleep safely or use the services she can't provide. It's all about fleecing travelers sadly. read more

I stayed at this campground yesterday - October 27 in a tent site. I was in the last tent site on the end right next to to the outdoor kitchen. There were only three other campers in this section so it was pretty quiet except for the street noise. My site backed up to a neighborhood street so I did get some street noise throughout the night - not too bad though. I liked being next to the outdoor kitchen. Made my meal prep and cleanup very easy. The sink has hot and cold water. The bathroom and showers were clean and the water was hot....once you ran it for a couple minutes. The guy at the front desk as friendly and helpful. Wifi was a little spotty but I was able to do some light surfing, texting and email with no problem. I would stay again if passing through Las Cruces. read more

Very good WiFi. Electricity at tent sites is very nice. Thank God they also didn't build the tent sites next to the road. Our last campsite put the tents right next to a busy road and OMG I couldn't sleep. It is a bit noisy here too tho. But mostly in the early morning traffic rush. But I digress. We got there late in the evening and they were close but they set up for late arrivals was done very nicely and understandable. Only two stars because the views are beautiful. The owners or the people running the place are the worst. They kind of make you feel like a prisoner. They circle the lot on a golf cart about every 15-30 minutes to "check on you". Our second day there we went to use the restroom and they said it was closed from 11am-1pm everyday. I asked were we go during that time. They shrugged their shoulders and said maybe a gas station. We were relaxing by the pool and about 650pm the old man comes in and stands next to us and states "the pool is closed" HE then started to pick up OUR FLOATS and opened the gate and stood there waiting for us to leave. The hours are until 7pm, but I've never been kicked out of a pool in the manor in my life. I felt very unwelcome. I would never waste money to be treated this way again. read more

We stayed there for a month or so during our relocation to Las Cruces. On the plus side, pretty clean, mostly quiet and a nice view. On the downside, the place gets pretty noisy early morning and late evening with arrivals and departures. Lots of big rigs, some bigger than their spaces, with parking of tow vehicles often in the road, blocking other sites. Lots of guests seem to walk through others' sites, with very little privacy. The downside is a lousy attitude by management. When checking in, my wife carried her 14 pound emotional support dog into the office, and the manager acted like we had brought a rabid pit bull in to roam the office unleashed. Very nasty in telling her to "Get that dog out". Front desk person told me they were afraid of the manager. Asked about propane, told them I was planning on coming back the next morning with my tank. Lugged it over the next morning, and I swear she smirked while telling me that there wasn't anybody working that day on propane. I understand not every employee does propane, but thye could have told me to check first, because it was not always available. It seemed a bit sadistic and rude. Water went out one day. Again, a smirk and a snotty response that they had a broken pipe and it was being fixed, with no guarantees. It was two hours before I saw anybody working on a pipe. I understand things happen, but not people havng a surly "take it or leave it" attitude. The crowning blow was when we had to sign our escrow papers in our truck camper, because she would not let us sit in the office area for 15' with the notary, while 35 mph winds blew. She said, "No. That might be hard.". . Incidentally, it was mid morning, and the office was a ghost town. We left for the Hacienda RV park, where people were incredibly friendly and nice by comparison. If staying for one night, probably tolerable. Otherwise their attitude is infectious,and will make you sick. They would get two stars, but management was totally defensive and unapologetic, even when given highly specific feedback. read more

This is a nice park, quiet and great to stay a night or a week. But, Like ALL KOAs they are not keeping up with Technology. They limit your internet usage to basic browsing and, when you have several different connections sharing a concentrator in your RV, you are quickly disconnected from too much use. Each logging in individually can access the networks but not using technology built into more modern RVs. Additionally, streaming is very important to people these days, KOA has to find a way to allow this or else they will loose business. If you are standing still these days, you are going backwards to the competition. How about an annual subscription service that people can join? If you plan it right, it may not be that expensive for your regulars.? read more

Folks should give reviews on a place when they actually stayed there. We where on our road-trip from California to Texas when we called to make a last minute reservation one hour away. The lady who took our reservation was awesome, she explained that since we are coming in late that the office may be closed and we will have our welcome packet outside. We made it in time and she took the time to explain every bit of detail of the site to us and to the 3 campers who checked in in front of us. The spaces are supper cleaned and groomed (the gravel was combed), and there is a level concrete landing pad for your camper. the kids had fun in the pool and playground, until the storm arrived. When on a road trip across many states (we did CA, NV, AZ, TX, NM, CO, OK) it is best to make reservations the day you or the day before you plan to arrive at the location if it is a stopover. it is best to reserve a head of time if you are going to stay for many days. Even though the computer is easier, I like to talk to the folks at the camp sites on the phone this way you get that personal touch, and you are not just a NoBoday@email.com. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. When planning a road trip for my family, we made a reservation at this location. However, due to logistics we are being forced to take an alternate route. When we called to cancel 38 days ahead of time, we were told that there is a $10 cancellation fee due to the credit card fees they incur. Understandably, a cancellation fee makes sense even a week ahead of time but over a month seems quite ridiculous. After speaking with an employee and a franchisee, we quickly realized that they could care less about retaining customers for their brand. If their accommodations are anything like their customer service, one can only imagine what a nightmare this place would be to deal with upon arrival. read more

This was our first stay at the KOA thinking it was better than the rest it was not the sites are very tight and ours was the worst we ask for a pull through and got one on a curve it was pie shaped in the way I was told to come in I barely got in once I got in I couldn't use the picnic table because of the closeness if I would've put out my Awing. I would've been within 3 feet of the guy next to me which I couldn't see around him to enjoy the view and I was charged as a premium site the Wi-Fi was good TV not so good read more

We stayed at the KOA in Las Cruces on our way from Texas to California. The stay was delightful. We awoke rested and excited for our day! The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable. We arrived late; however, our documents and keys were taken care of and provided for by management. They made sure there were no difficulties. The cabin had plenty of sleeping space and electronic outlets. The view from the cabin is astounding. read more

This was our first time staying at this KOA. We came down from up north for a quick R&R getaway and decided not to tow our trailer. We rented one of the camping cabins. Cabins are nice, VERY clean and comfortable. There is a cute comfortable porch swing and we had room on the porch for two of our recliner camp chairs as well. Having electricity in the cabin was a nice feature and they have both A/C and heater - we needed both so those were nice amenities. Our biggest complaint was lack of electrical outlets. There were only two but three of the four available receptacles were in use. ( Lamp, heater and mini fridge) we had great difficulty in arranging where we could plug our C-PAPS in. Actually had to position our heads at the foot of the bed to make it work. Such a disappointment..... at the very least give guests the heads up so we could have come prepared with power-strips or extension cords!!! Cabins have no bathrooms but are located across the street from where the bathrooms are so that was nice. But can we talk about the bathrooms???!!!!! They were clean alright but the stalls are super small!!! In both men's and women's (men's verified by my hubby). The handicap stall in the women's also houses the handicap shower ...... barely enough room to sit on toilet. I am not familiar with NM ADA laws but these stalls surely DO NOT comply. I truly feel sorry for any wheelchair bound woman who tries to use the facilities! Even the other non-handicap stalls are super cramped and hard to maneuver in! In all honesty I probably should have given less stars because of the bathrooms. We may stay here again? but it would NOT be in a cabin. We would bring our trailer that has lots of outlets and a nice comfortable bathroom!! read more

We had the Super Site which came with an oversized site, a BBQ, a private gazebo and a good side view of Las Cruses. The management wasn't particularly friendly. We reserved a spot and were told that it would be a pull-in site with a view of Las Cruces. When we got there we were given a pull through site on which our motorhome had to hang out into the street. Only one other time in 10 years of traveling in a motorhome have I stayed in a site in which I was closer to my neighbors. It felt like our slides nearly touched other RVs on both sides. The park was quiet enough. I'm sure that the lady in the office was being friendly but she was also EXTREMELY insistent that we he'd the full story on Arizona channel 3 on their cable lineup. When I interrupted to say that we would not be hooking up to cable she restarted the story. Very condescending. We did not use the showers. The staff apparently rake the site and road daily. It is a dirt and gravel park, entirely. The pull through sites do have what they called pavers, strips of concrete. My front jacks must have been at least 15 ft. forward of the pavers. Had to put out blocks to level as the site was not all that level. I need my space and do not like condescending staff. Will not stay again. read more

Nice little campground that is big rig friendly. We stayed for a single night and had great interaction with the office staff. The sites are gravel and tight, but long enough on the pull through site for our 43' coach and our Jeep. The showers and bathrooms were nice and clean. Campsite are extremely narrow! Not enough room to have both drivers and passenger slides out and awning without hitting unit next to you. Park is quiet, overlooks valley, nice views. Staff is friendly, keeps spaces clean and nicely groomed. read more

We called prior to our arrival and spoke with Karen. She was very polite. Although she didn't mention they charge per child. I clearly mentioned we would have children with us. Bathrooms were as clean as one can expect for a KOA i.e decent & cleaned daily. Most tent sites are on a lawn close to each other and have no barriers for privacy. The tent sites with power are closer to the camping Kitchen. read more

At 1:30 p.m. on 2/25/20, we called to reserve a spot at the Las Cruces KOA Journey. Tim was gruff, but seemed okay on the phone. We told him we weren't yet KOA members, but we wished to sign up when we arrived the following night. He took our credit card number, but he never disclosed the KOA 48-hour cancellation fee to us. The next day we broke down and called to cancel. They refused to credit our $42 back that they had already charged! They kept insisting that it was KOA policy to not refund any money if it was within 48 hours. (We booked this 24 hours in advance.) They did not offer us another night or any kind of solution. We never made it there and never met them, and they kept our $42. We would NEVER sign up for KOA after that experience!!! read more

Great spot, close enough to the main part of town that you can get to it easily. The spots are a little close together, but they are nice because they all have two concrete strips that go lengthwise along the site, so that leveling is no problem. All around a nice place. read more

Great KOA! Checking in was nice and welcoming. The KOA is clean and in amazing shape. The pool is heated and well kept, and pool area has nice comfortable lounge chairs to relax in. The first thing that I noticed was how clean the bathrooms were kept. We camped in a tent, had GRASS and several shady trees around us. Grass is hard to find in NM, I was shocked it was actually nice and green in our camp area. read more

Very easy in and out KOA. Pull throughs are a little tight, not much space to play or sit outside. The park is good enough. Lots of walking. Lot is all dirt and gravel, expect some dirt! Staff is VERY friendly and help out. Overall, great experience and would come back! read more

Fantastic!! We stayed here one night at the beginning of our road trip and one night at the end of our road trip. We have a camper van, on the way in we got a deluxe tent site for $32/night and on the way out we got a basic tent site for $29/night. The sites were impeccably clean and neat. The deluxe site has electricity and water and the basic has water only. They both have a picnic bench. It is close to the freeway but we didn't hear the noise at all. It is on a small hill top with a beautiful view of sunrise, we didn't get to see the sunset because we pulled in too late both times. It was so easy to reserve a site the day of, you can reserve it online before 5pm the day of, if after 5pm you can call them to reserve, if after they close you can find a site yourself when you get there. They will email you your receipt. It's adorable, they have a whiteboard that welcomes the different people by name that are coming in that night. One of my favorite things was the welcome packet they leave out for you if you come in when they're closed. It's a large plastic ziplock with your name on it, it includes a paper tag to hang on your front mirror, a paper with a map, the WiFi code and shower code. The showers were very nice, and completely clean. There were no paper towels so it helps to have your towel with you when using your toiletries. The landscaping is very nice, there are many paths making the showers/office accessible. It was nice and quiet. I will always stay here whenever I am passing through this area. read more

My boyfriend and myself were heading out on our first vacation together. We read other reviews about the campground that were less than pleasing. After arriving much later than expected the KOA was the only place that we could find that had a late registration. We didn't register previously as we thought we might make it through to Alamogordo with time to spare. When I called I spoke to Larry. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. When I asked about late registration he told me exactly what we could find and where and how it worked. When we showed up everything was exactly where he said it was. The packets had all the site info, bathroom codes and pricing. So we got our info and paid and dropped the envelope in the night box. We got to our campsite and hooked everything up. The campground was quiet, minimal traffic noise from the road below and the view of the city at night was breathtaking. In the morning the campground crew started their duties at about 9/10, which is perfect since check out is at 11. Once you head outside it's another perfect view of the mountains with the sunrise. Just a side note, we weren't parked at a "scenic" spot, it was just a regular spot but we still had an amazing view. When we got up and went down to the bathrooms they were clean and accommodating. Also the KOA supplied the showers with a small rug to step on when getting out of the shower so you don't slip. All the workers were very friendly and would say hello in passing and Larry at check out was especially helpful with directions out of town. Overall the stay was more than what me or my boyfriend expected. If we ever go back to the area we will definitely be staying there. read more

When I called to make my reservation they were very busy and mentioned it on the phone. The lady asked to call me back and she did. I was notified that if I cancelled within 48 hours I would get refunded the first night. When I cancelled I was charged $10. I notified her I was not notified there would be a fee. Her rude response was "yes, you did." The fee was not the problem, it's her response to the question. We've stayed there before and some of the staff is rude. read more

Beautiful facilities, very clean, easy check in, easy to find, looks nice for RV camping. However, not very secure, near a bad part of town, really close to the highway (noise), tent sites are awful. Recommend for RV or in a pinch but definitely not ideal for tent camping. read more
