I came here and had lunch with my Dad. We ordered the fajitas for two for the lunch special and it was really good. There was a great serving of meat. We order chicken and steak and there were plenty of the portions for both of us. The chips and salsa kind of threw me off at the first. We went on a Tuesday, they had ladies night drink specials...$3 margaritas, which were EXCELLENT, and a couple others I can't recall, (call ahead to check) We started off with the chips and salsa trio (with 3 types of salsas) I ordered the tamale with a side of rice and two margaritas, my boyfriend ordered the 6 carne asada tacos plate and a side of beans and an imported beer. Our bill came to about $40 but was WELL worth it! The service was excellent as well, extremely attentive and friendly. Honestly this restaurant is not authentic Mexican food, it's more for the Americanize Mexican food but it's extremely delicious. If you like guacamole I would definitely try their fried guacamole appetizer. It's amazing, there's crunch, spices, and sauce it's the best of al worlds. This is the best Mexican restaurant i've ever been to and its located in Conyers so don't have far to go. I went during lunch time and sat at the bar. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything on my plate down to the rice was good no complaints at all. My friend she had a steak bacon quesadilla very large portion they didn't hold out on the meat and cheese. I've been there twice now and the food has been great each time. The first time I did up a pick up order and the food was great. The second time I eat there and got the steak quesadilla and fried guacamole. The fried guacamole is addictive. It comes with a sauce and chopped tomatoes on it with some chips. It really is a must try. The quesadilla is huge but also delicious, made with plenty of cheese and meat. The place itself has a good vibe with nice decorations inside and out . It has a bar area that has good selection of drinks. I think they do special deal on Friday and the weekend as well as having a band play. Decided to come here as I do not eat meat and it is hard to find a place around this area Covington that has lot of vegetarian/pescatarian options, the place look very Cozy from the outside and Is not bad looking in the inside either, service is meh, but not horrible I guess that coming from NYC where service is another level it was ok, our server was good forgot to ask her name, she asked us if she could take our drink order while we look at the menu, our food arrived in a timely that was good, I had the "elote" not bad but I could get a better one in NYC streets for cheap, the cauliflower it was very yummy, crispy in the outside, Soft in the inside, we order guacamole and I have a onion allergy which makes hard to find guacamole made to order as most places has pre-made batches, the guacamole was pretty good I recommend it % I order three diff tacos the fry shrimp it was so spicy that I could not feel the flavor at all, the buffalo tofu was so sour that I could not have a second bite either swallow the first one, the calamari was good. I would have love if they had corn tortillas instead of flour but I guess it still get the job done, The chicken fajitas from my companion was fine I mean is chicken so I guess it taste good regardless. My parents and I decided to try this restaurant, as they live in Conyers and wanted to try something new. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. The food was tasteless. We had the fried avocados as an appetizer. Of course avocados don't have flavor. Therefore, you must add salt. Which had none whatsoever. I ordered a steak taco and a brisket taco, and they too had no flavor. It's like, how do you go wrong with tacos???? The meat was so bland and they don't provide any sauces for the tacos. Happy hour in the house... literally, as Las Flores is in an adorable little house in Old Conyers. My holiday hometown adventures landed us here to meet up with some old friends who also have relatives in this part of the world. Their rather brilliant idea was to come here to partake in happy hour. $2 domestic beer, $3 pomegranate margaritas, and a long list of $2 tacos in a super cozy setting leave little room for complaints! Stumbling across this little gem in the middle of the country (as in back road Southern country) is equivalent to discovering an oasis in the desert. The margaritas were delicious and strong, and it was fun to see my husband slurping a pink, frozen variety. (I don't think he realized it was going to be pink!) As for tacos, they had tofu! I ordered one tofu, one bean and one grilled fish. You have the choice of flour, whole wheat or corn, but we were warned that the corn tortillas were considerably smaller. We went with whole wheat. I have never been a huge fan of flour tortillas, but the whole wheat was a nice option. The fish was perfect, not a hint of fishy taste. The bean was pretty standard, and the tofu was, well, interesting. The tofu is softer, but it is fried and coated in buffalo wing sauce and served with a blue cheese sauce. The flavors were good, but obviously not your standard taco seasonings. Several people ordered the grilled shrimp and were super impressed. I had a bite of guacamole, and it was fresh and delicious. The happy hour and great interior definitely earn the 5-stars. Be sure to check the website to find out the details of their happy hour specials, as the specials differ from day to day. Totally mediocre Mexican food. Kind of a cute place but the food is just blah. They also charge for every little thing - $4 for an additional thimbleful of pico de gallo? (that had NO kick at all) Really that is just lame. Outside the perimeter of Atlanta you'll find an area replete with what I like to call Mexican food factories. They are filled with people who look like they are from Mexico, and they all serve pretty much the same food under a different name. Their profit comes from margaritas and queso dip and the food is bland at best. People treat the queso dip as if it is a gift from the heavens. In reality, it is a simple mixture of a quality white american cheese and heavy cream, and it is no replacement for a quality entree. Enter Las Flores and you'll see a small quaint dimly lit restaurant and a large patio. Due to the rain, I chose to partake of my meal inside. The first dish was our appetizer and we got the queso. I was shocked to find that the bowl of cheese was a yellowish orange and the chips weren't the greasy basket I was so accustomed to. Instead, the chips were crispy, round and large flavored with just a pinch of salt and a dusting of cumin. The cheese was thick and hearty and I was immediately impressed. I opted for the ensalada las flores and it was a highly flavorful mixture of greens, tortilla strips, cheese, shrimp and a cilantro vinaigrette. It is probably the best salad I have had at a Mexican restaurant. This is a high quality mexican inspired restaurant and worth a visit if you are ever in the area. read more

I ordered the chile relleno with beans instead of rice. The beans were very watery but seasoned well. My daughter's vegetarian tacos consisted of two flour tortillas with some beans and cheese. My chicken was dry, and my mom's was bland. My son's hamburger, on the other hand, he said was fantastic. We arrived at the restaurant a little late (9:05 pm with 10:00 pm closing) on a Tuesday and the restaurant was completely empty. Server was sweet, but no chips and salsa offered (odd, right?) The shrimp taco and guacamole I ordered was good, but the steak "grande burrito" was absolutely awful. Covered in what appeared to be cheese whiz sauce with not so stellar toppings. The place has a nice vibe, but the menu is over-priced and the food is not up to par. Also, the restaurant was ready to close right at 10 and they didn't think to wait. Whenever I'm traveling for business in Conyera, GA, I tend to keep my expectations pretty low. After all, it isn't a bustling metropolis of eateries and culture, so I'm not gonna demand five-star dining from every mediocre chain restaurant in the area. But when I stopped by Las Flores with a coworker, I admit to being absolutely blown away. First of all, you have got to try the guacamole. It comes in a few different levels of spiciness and we got it hot because who doesn't like a little kick in the pants. Even the large round tortilla chips they served them on were covered in some sort of magical red spice dust. Oh, and if you run out, the servers are glad to give you more. I had the stuffed peppers, which were drenched in a ton of cheese and came out delicious (and rather quickly). My coworker got the taco salad and it also looked (and tasted) impressive. There's a real sense that the dishes are made with care and even the presentation is excellent for such a good value. The servers themselves were terrific. It was a warm day so we were sitting on the deck drinking cold Modelos, and each time the server brought out a brand new ice-cold glass to pour our beers in. I don't believe I waited more than 60 seconds after finishing a drink for another. I'm not usually in the area, but the next time I am, I anticipate another delicious retreat to Las Flores and I look forward to exploring their menu. read more

A few of us from all over went to GA to visit our cousin this past weekend and had no idea where to go with six adults and six children in her town. They don't eat out much so I turned to yelp for some help and it came! Las flores has a great ambiance, the staff is friendly (I think we met the owner, if not then a manager but either way very friendly) and the food...very good! No joke, the buffalo tofu taco was one of the best vegetarian alternatives I have ever tasted. I also had the shrimp and fish tacos, also very good. My belly and taste buds were very happy. Also, I believe the prices were very reasonable. I don't know if that is because I am a NYer, but I think my cousin and her husband felt the same way too. Initially there was hesitation from a few when I suggested this place because "they don't really like Mexican food" (I blame that on not knowing what authenticate Mexican food actually tastes like). However, everyone left completely satisfied and my cousin and her husband were happy to find a new place to have dinner with their little ones and guests from out of town. A really unique Mexican restaurant in the sense that it's a bit more like gourmet Mexican food. The ingredients are so fresh, and so well prepared. You're not going to find the ubiquitous burrito with 'red and white sauce' and refried beans here, and that is quite refreshing. Strongly recommend the chicken burrito grande. The pirata quesadilla is great on a flour vs whole wheat tortilla. The queso that comes with the burrito is so good and addictive that it should come with a warning label! Nice staff and atmosphere. My wife and I were introduced to this restaurant several months ago upon the suggestion of a friend. Las Flores has easily become one of our favorite spots. We live approximately 30 minutes away, but it is well worth the drive! The restaurant is in a super-cool setting located in Olde Town Conyers. The covered and open seating on the deck is great for large groups. For a more intimate setting, head inside for a cantina vibe. We like everything on the menu. The tapas-style selections allow you to make your own customized plate. The fried avocado appetizer is amazing. The tacos (fried calamari, chicken, beef brisket, tofu, etc.) are all unique and each has its own special garnish and sauce. We even brag about the rice! And with over 100 tequilas you are sure to have a great margarita... The staff is friendly and the service is attentive and knowledgeable. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Popped in for a recent dinner during a work trip down to the area. Mexican sounded enticing before a viewing of Spectre, and here I came. Managed to find a seat at the packed bar. Walls of tequila beckon beyond. A fantastic back drop for any Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, the mood was slightly shaken (literally) by the omnipresent on/off of the massive generator parked outside that would shake the building and drown out conversation every 10 minutes or so. One thinks there has to be a better way.....? On to the food... Ordered the guacamole to start alongside the chile relleno. Apparently that was forgotten and it came after the chile relleno. No matter. Guacamole was very flavorful. Chile relleno was stuffed with a pulled beef, and was good, not great. Flan came for dessert with a drink of a lovely anejo. It was more pudding like (i.e. thick) in texture than I'm used to, but the flavor was there.
