Disappointing!! I ordered two Chicken Tender meals for my kids on Door Dash and the tenders were extremely burnt/crisp. It actually took me a second to even realize what they were when I opened the trays. I didn't expect my kids to eat that nor did I want them to. I have NEVER seen chicken tenders be served like this. This place totally sucked. Yelp, you let us down! After visiting a couple of awesome Kansas State Parks, we were excited to try this Mexican restaurant in Garden City. It sounded pretty good on Yelp but in real life, every part of our experience was bad. The chips tasted as though they had been fried in old grease. The queso would have been good but it was as thin as milk. The worst part was our "beef" fajitas. How on earth do you mess up fajitas? What little meat was present was very low quality and it was cooked in what looked to be tomato paste. The fajitas tasted awful. Service was poor as well. We never got refills on our water, we had to track down a non-waitress to get tortillas for our fajitas and when we asked for our check, it never came. We ended up going to the front register for it. Nightmare restaurant. I don't recommend. Goodbye Garden City. read more

What a disappointment. Ordered a margarita to start off this adventure...it wasn't bad, but a basic margarita. Nothing to write home about and mediocre at best. I ordered the jalapeño popper appetizer, thinking it would be home made, lightly battered, fried with some fresh cheeses inside; oh man was I wrong. It was definitely from a box, frozen. Thick batter, cream cheese, and a limp gross pepper. This was definitely from a frozen grocery store shelf. I ordered a seltzer water (which they had no idea what this was). When I explained it (in detail) and the waitress had to call for backup to figure it out they finally said they had club soda and brought it to me with a lemon (even though I asked for it with a lime). It tasted like soapy fizzy water. I couldn't even drink it. For the main course I ordered the NY strip steak, medium rare. It came out cooked like shoe leather! Cole slaw was on the plate; cole slaw? From a Mexican restaurant? The refried beans were probably refried.....16 times back in March (it's June).... What a disaster....... read more

Took my wife for her birthday lunch with the family. The food and service was great! Everyone was patient and attentive with my family. The food came out quick and was delicious!!! Never had to ask for more chips or refills. My son asked if they did "birthday shoutouts". Before we left the owner and his crew came out with enough sopapillas for my family! They did a good job singing and making it a very enjoyable experience! We are lucky to have a good gem like this in our town. Hope yer not hungry! The portion size to price for this place is so lopsided I almost fell out of my chair when I opened my Doordash packages. Tamale was the size of my thumb. The popular "steak" was smaller than my hand and thinner than my socks. Chips were stale. Guacamole was brown. What a joke. Only positive is that they separated out each item in different packages (which they should do anyway since restaurants and Doordash charge extra for all that). Fantastic Mexican food. Has to be the best in Garden City. A tad more authentic than the average Mexican-American joint, and we appreciated that. Tamales are made by hand each day, and you can tell. Located on the old Main Street in downtown Garden City, you will find this place in the basement under a coffee shop. The restaurant is colorful and surprisingly large with a big menu and a full bar. We started with the Cheese Dip, a Dos Equis, and a specialty Margarita (I think it was the Chambord? It was delicious and strong!). For our entrees, I chose my usual little combination of two crispy ground beef tacos and a chicken enchilada. My boyfriend opted for perhaps the largest combination plate on the menu and added a couple of other al a carte items. He was evidently famished. The nice thing was that we were able to sample a lot of different things: taco, enchilada, relleno, tamale, chalupa, rice, beans, etc. We ended our meal with another beer and margarita. Don't be fooled by the menu options that seem to be similar to other items...the flavor of everthing here is much better compared to a the majority of Mexican restaurants. No blan flavors here. They have a variety of alcoholic mixed drinks, as well as desserts. If you are hungry, they have large plates; if not, they have small plates or plenty for a la carte options. I was craving street tacos, and being from out of town I relied on Yelp for my decision making. The other place I attempted to visit is CLOSED on Tuesdays, so I settled for Los Margaritas...while the strawberry margarita I ordered to start with was tasty, I didn't taste (or feel) any alcohol in it. The chips and salsa were a 4/5. The guacamole was certainly missing a certain something, however. For my meal I ordered tacos al pastor; the meat was a little dry, they forgot the tomatillo salsa on them, and the tortillas were soaked in grease. The rice and beans on the side were, unfortunately, the best part of my meal. It makes me a little sad to think this is the *best* Garden City has to offer, because it has left my craving pretty unsatiated. We threw a party of ten at them a half hour before closing; they had two, four seat tables open at opposite ends of the room; and we were all seated together in well under five minutes. Drinks-poof! Chips and salsa-poof! Ten meals from all over their extensive menu-poof! They don't have an army of servers but they do have a platoon. All of them are gracious and seem to be enjoying themselves. Mr. Diego, you are the best! I know I had five different people do something for me. Food-great! Ambiance-great! We came by the next evening with an even bigger party and found they are also consistent. At first it seems like a good place, good scenery, and it looks AUTHENTIC. The chips and salsa were alright, but the salsa tasted like it may have been a tomato paste base. The jalapeño poppers were horrible, looks and tastes like it came out of the frozen isle of a grocery store. The "seltzer water" yes seltzer water, tasted like bubbly dish soap, how do you mess up carbonated water?! I ordered the seafood enchiladas (upon further reflection i realize that the nearest ocean is VERY FAR which is my mistake) but it was awful. It tasted like crab dip stuffed into a tortilla, the beans were out of a can, the rice tasted like uncle bens, and there was this cole slaw looking stuff ( which i didn't even bother trying.
