In Garden City, Kansas, there is an abundance of Mexican restaurants. I wanted to try the specific restaurant as the inside looked beautiful. They had plenty of options. My first visit here I got chips and salsa, which is automatic with every table and then I ordered queso dip and guacamole. I also ordered tostadas. The queso dip and guacamole came out immediately however an hour passed, and they still had not brought my tostadas. I informed the server that I understood they were busy, but I would no longer want the tostadas. He told me to hold on. He would be right back and he came back with the tostadas. I continued to tell the server I no longer want the tostadas. It had been an hour for one tostada. The best part was the mariachi band playing. My second visit I got guacamole, queso dip, and automatically everything comes with chips and salsa . The guacamole was just mashed avocado. There was nothing in it. I had none of the other ingredients. I sat at the bar this time the bartender was not around. Unfortunately, this restaurant has great potential, but the lack of service and quality of food is a no go for me to return a third time. read more

I give it a full 5 star rating because my waiter was so friendly and made sure I did not need a thing . I am traveling for work and used to eating alone . He and the manager continued to check on me alone in my corner booth . And the food was good except the weird tostada I am from Texas and we do Tex Mex but I like to try different places as I travel . Here is my break down Chips : good and fresh . Not sure if they are made here or not . I doubt it but they are doing a great job. Making sure they are fresh and hot Salsa : it's good and has nice flavor but not spicy at all to me . Rice : it was fresh but not really a lot of flavor , it was better with a little salt and salsa Beans : I don't care for them but had forgotten to tell them double rice . Beans were delish ! Tostada : the Shell is crisp , veggies fresh and crisp , the cheese is yummy but the beef was weird textured and the flavor was weirdly strong . One polite bite and I was out . Just go and try it , it deserves more stars to be honest . Chicken enchilada : seriously better then even my homemade . Best one I ever ate in my52 years. That sauce is to die for ! Filled with crack ??? You want it real bad .... chicken was nicely done ! Flavorful and it had sautéed veggies in it but not too much to take away from the chicken . read more

I was in town for a doctor's appointment so I gave Tequila's a second shot. It ended up just as it did my first visit. I didn't get the food I ordered. Guessing they give you what they want to cook. It was average mexican food and because they can't seem to get an order right, I won't be giving them a third trip. read more

Average food, cheap margs, indifferent service. We were traveling through Garden City and the hotel receptionist recommended Tequilas, esp. said they had good margaritas. We went in on a Tuesday night and were seated immediately. Chips and salsa were put on the table right away but it took awhile for our waiter to come. She was not unfriendly but also didn't say much. We ordered house margaritas, which were only $2.99 for a 12 oz. drink. She said they were very popular. I got mine on the rocks and it tasted more of mixer than tequila to me. My wife got frozen and she liked it. My wife ordered a combo with cheese enchilada and molé sauce and a bean chalupa. She said it was good. I ordered shrimp fajitas. It was a good amount of well-seasoned shrimp. it didn't come out sizzling as normal but it was hot enough and tasted good. The pico de gallo was very good, lots of fresh jalapéno. Our service was pretty lackluster, not bad but she didn't check on us much. I don't remember the final bill but it was reasonable. All in all, the food was fine but I wouldn't go there expecting great margaritas. read more

It's our favorite Mexican food, if not our favorite place to eat in Garden City. Friendly owners and staff wait on you the whole visit. Not stingy with the tequila in the margaritas either. My few complaints deal with the damn flys (which are everywhere in Garden City!) and I wish they would reverse osmosis the water so I can enjoy a glass of tea. All the water here is hard as a rock, so it has a twang to it. Back to complimenting... the chili releno is the best I've ever had anywhere! Not greasy at all! Good stuff! read more

Disappointing service, extremely long wait times, and mediocre food. They got the order wrong and we asked for the correct item which was never delivered. The tomato based salsa is salty. My chicken was really tough and beef fajitas were a joke with very little beef and when you found a piece it tasted like dehydrated strips of meat. We used to love this place when they were at the old location. Tonight was the first time we were able to eat at the new location and boy were we disappointed. We ordered the steak fajitas with the steak med rare, it came out overdone and the onions and green pepper might as well have been raw. We let our server know and boy did we flip her bitch switch. She became rude and very short. Then they charged us extra for sour cream they should've replaced with the fajitas and charged us for an extra tortilla we didn't ask for. Wow, I live in California and we have some of the best Mexican food on the planet. I didn't think I would find something that rivals that. True authentic dishes, not dumbed down for the white folk, I'm white, relax. Walking in the door they made me feel welcome. They impressed me with the salsa, food and beer. Prices are cheap for the quality you get. People are nice and welcoming, the shrimp in the devil sauce was one of the best I've had. I'll be back tomorrow. read more

For a small town with few options, this place is probably one of the best. I got a heavy portion of food for $10.99. The salsa and food are very tasty. Pleasantly surprised with this place. Staying here a week for work and will definitely be back. Such better quality than the place I'm staying at which has Sammy's steak house. That has now been two of the worst and expensive food experiences I have had :(. Great Mexican Restaurant with fantastic food and gigantic portions. For starters we were given a warm basket of tortilla chips with a killer salsa on the side which was tasty and perfectly spicy. We had the Chicken Fajitas and Enchiladas Bandaras trio and both were served with piles of rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole. Try the margarita or the ice cold Dos XX in the chilled goblet. Muey bueno! Decor is charming Latin America with carved furnishings and lots of vibrant color. Went here to eat on the 18th of June. Everything was fine until I went to go use the restroom. They smelled disgusting from outside and were absolutely appalling inside. I couldn't finish my food knowing that was only a few feet away. We paid our bill and left. THEN we look at our bank statement and see that they took NINETEEN extra dollars out. Our total was 37.89 and the bank statement says 55.89. If they do not do something to fix this we will be filing a report with the police station. Will never be back. read more

Was passing thru the area and decided to stop here for a quick lunch. Food was amazing. I had the Enchiladas Banderas and it was so good. I pretty much destroyed all three of them in quick order.
