BOMB DOT COM . Mexican food in PR? Why not!!? It's hidden in an alley by the Hard Rock and dispensary. Inside is a neat and rustic looking vibe. They have a tortilla grill press station visible to guests and the bar is also very nice looking too. FOOD:: *Did you know they make their own tortillas??* i think the food here is amazing, i only got to try their mahi mahi fish tacos, SUPER good quality.. i was so impressed by the attention to detail. they had lettuce and tomatoes on the side for you to add according to how you like it, the guac was great, very fresh... also wanted to point out that the refried beans were pretty good! i dont even like beans.. i tried it and i was thoroughly impressed. :) DRINK:: I love the sound of blenders (instead of those slushy machines) i really liked the mango margarita.. i should of asked for on the rocks, because that's what i prefer but the menu said frozen so.. but im on vacation .. Life a little!! SERVICE:: SUPER nice young man and older man were awesome, they were a little busy, since it was kind of short staffed i watched how hard they were working.. i liked it a lot the young man was very attentive and helpful to me.. thank you! OVERALL:: If you want some tacos or mexican food in PR.. this is will hit the SPOT, Guaranteed!

Very good Mexican food! The tacos are super good. Make sure to get them on corn tortillas!! You won't regret it. The rice and beans are delicious. ALL of the dips and salsas are fantastic. Make sure to try this place out!!!

I stopped at Las Nanas Cantina for a lunch date with my friend Rosa M. during my quick visit to Puerto Rico earlier this month. We had a lot of catching up to do so we decided on this spot that either of us had tried. I've been to a few other restaurants in this strip mall, which have all been pretty decent. We arrived around 2:00pm on a Thursday so the lunch rush had already passed. We were greeted quickly and told to sit wherever we pleased. The server was nice and seemed a bit nervous (maybe she was just starting out?). She went over the menu and we ordered our drinks: a Nanarita for me and a non-alcoholic frappe for my preggo friend. The Nanarita on the rocks was very good and the mango frappe received high marks from Rosa. We also ordered some queso fundido with chorizo, which is my go-to Mexican appetizer. It was delicious! For my entrée, I decided to go with some tinga de pollo tacos. They were plated nicely, so brownie points for that, but they were extremely dry and lacked seasoning. I thought they could be fixed with some hot sauce but when I looked around for our server, she was nowhere to be found. Actually, there was nobody to be found! I waited, with my dry tacos in front of me, for about 10 minutes and still... nothing. I ended up eating my tacos just as they were because I was way too hungry to keep waiting. They were just OK. Rosa ordered the fajitas, which she said were alright too. Nothing too special. If you're around the area you could give Las Nanas a chance (although there are better and cheaper Mexican places in Carolina) or at least get a Nanarita.

We were really wanting Mexican food, which was hard to find in Puerto Rico. We are used to Texas Mexican food- no, not taco bell, but authentic Mexican food, homemade tortillas, salsas, etc. Anyway, this place had good beer and drinks, chips were good- but not free. Salsa was in small container, $0.50 to fill it up each time, $1.50 for chips refill. I didn't care too much for the salsa, but guacamole and pico was good. My husband had beef fajitas and said they were good, he just needed salsa. I got cheese enchiladas, they were made with white cheese not cheddar but they tasted good, it was too much cheese though. Like literally a whole block of white cheese melted on top of the enchiladas. Refried beans were good. Tortillas were good too.

Started with Las Tortitas! They were fresh and home made, I didn't like that the texture of the dough was more like a deep fried arepa than bread, harder than I was expecting. With that said, they were deliciously seasoned, tinga was great and the added melted cheese for $2 was a great touch! I have a lot of Mexican co-workers and they teach me real Mexican cuisine on the daily. I felt right at home, flavors were great and the food was not overly heavy. Ordered 2 mini burritos that were not small at all, I had waaaay too much food in my plate. Comes with Guacamole and a very weird clarified butter hot sauce?! It was about "medium" spicy, but it had really nice flavor. Nanarita's were in point and the service was really great.

Really great food for a great price. This massive rice bowl was under $10. Would definitely go again!

They barely just opened 3 months ago and finally got their liquor license and it is amazing! Such cute decor and atmosphere and the staff is so friendly. Food is all SO fresh and delicious and portions are big for the prices. I ordered three bowls: one chicken, one short rib & one fish and we loved all three! Will definitely be back here soon.

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in PR. We ordered queso fundido for appetizer, tacos with pork guacamole and refrito in corn tortilla Mexican style, chicken rice and beans and beef nanasagna. All plates are good but Excellent choice really recommend, nanasagna. We ordered it with mild hot sauce. And the Margaritas are excellent. For dessert ordered home made churros with caramel and ice cream.

    Burritos! Yum!

One of the hostesses was noticeably rude at the start, which set an uncomfortable tone. El Conflicto was perfect, all the flavor of a pina colada but without the heaviness of syrups & sugar. The Pollo Borracho was super flavorful & filling, chicken cooked to perfection falling off the bone. My fiancé had the Carne Frita, it was super tender & a well balanced dish. Service was friendly & attentive. My only complaint- we were so full we couldn't even look at the dessert menu! Guess we will just have to go back.

The wait was usual for Old San Juan. About 30-45mins. They take your name down and call you when there's a table ready. What they don't tell you is that the menu is a QR code on the table. Once you figure that you see a well organized and simple 2 pages menu with many PR authentic dishes listed. The waiter comes about 10-15mins later. And it's best to have all your order ready as they don't come back very often. The place is usually packed all the hours that they're open. Food: that's why they lost a star. Rice and beans, Madurai/amarrillos, scurrilous, delicious 5 stars, but the bigger, empanada, chicken with garlic lack the bite that you come to expect of PR food! They lack taste, "Sazon", they were bland and tasted more like someone forgot to season them and forgot the garlic. I'd tell them to go back to their food and make PR food like it's supposed to taste, not for the tourist, please!

But they did seat me right away. I ordered a ceviche and a grouper filet with rice & beans and maduros. The ceviche took over 30 minutes to come and the entree also took another 30 minutes to come. It was busy but that was a bit much. Both items were fine. Nothing blew my socks off. Definitely not what I was expecting since it came highly recommended by a local. There is absolutely NO signage anywhere in the restaurant stating that flash photography is not allowed. While we were quietly sitting at our table waiting for food, my husband took a quick photo of me with flash. Out of nowhere, Patrick, who identified himself as the General Manager, approached us in an incredibly aggressive and hostile manner and abruptly said "NO FLASH" with an attitude that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If there are rules guests are expected to follow, maybe the restaurant should clearly communicate them instead of having management aggressively confront paying customers. I asked to speak to the assistant manager who handled the situation much more professionally and was kind, understanding, and willing to listen. Unfortunately, Patrick's behavior completely ruined the experience and left a terrible impression on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. His behavior was racial profiling. No guest should feel singled out, uncomfortable, or disrespected simply for taking a photo when there were no visible rules posted anywhere in the restaurant.
