BOMB DOT COM . Mexican food in PR? Why not!!? It's hidden in an alley by the Hard Rock and dispensary. Inside is a neat and rustic looking vibe. They have a tortilla grill press station visible to guests and the bar is also very nice looking too. FOOD:: *Did you know they make their own tortillas??* i think the food here is amazing, i only got to try their mahi mahi fish tacos, SUPER good quality.. i was so impressed by the attention to detail. they had lettuce and tomatoes on the side for you to add according to how you like it, the guac was great, very fresh... also wanted to point out that the refried beans were pretty good! i dont even like beans.. i tried it and i was thoroughly impressed. :) DRINK:: I love the sound of blenders (instead of those slushy machines) i really liked the mango margarita.. i should of asked for on the rocks, because that's what i prefer but the menu said frozen so.. but im on vacation .. Life a little!! SERVICE:: SUPER nice young man and older man were awesome, they were a little busy, since it was kind of short staffed i watched how hard they were working.. i liked it a lot the young man was very attentive and helpful to me.. thank you! OVERALL:: If you want some tacos or mexican food in PR.. this is will hit the SPOT, Guaranteed!

Very good Mexican food! The tacos are super good. Make sure to get them on corn tortillas!! You won't regret it. The rice and beans are delicious. ALL of the dips and salsas are fantastic. Make sure to try this place out!!!

I stopped at Las Nanas Cantina for a lunch date with my friend Rosa M. during my quick visit to Puerto Rico earlier this month. We had a lot of catching up to do so we decided on this spot that either of us had tried. I've been to a few other restaurants in this strip mall, which have all been pretty decent. We arrived around 2:00pm on a Thursday so the lunch rush had already passed. We were greeted quickly and told to sit wherever we pleased. The server was nice and seemed a bit nervous (maybe she was just starting out?). She went over the menu and we ordered our drinks: a Nanarita for me and a non-alcoholic frappe for my preggo friend. The Nanarita on the rocks was very good and the mango frappe received high marks from Rosa. We also ordered some queso fundido with chorizo, which is my go-to Mexican appetizer. It was delicious! For my entrée, I decided to go with some tinga de pollo tacos. They were plated nicely, so brownie points for that, but they were extremely dry and lacked seasoning. I thought they could be fixed with some hot sauce but when I looked around for our server, she was nowhere to be found. Actually, there was nobody to be found! I waited, with my dry tacos in front of me, for about 10 minutes and still... nothing. I ended up eating my tacos just as they were because I was way too hungry to keep waiting. They were just OK. Rosa ordered the fajitas, which she said were alright too. Nothing too special. If you're around the area you could give Las Nanas a chance (although there are better and cheaper Mexican places in Carolina) or at least get a Nanarita.

We were really wanting Mexican food, which was hard to find in Puerto Rico. We are used to Texas Mexican food- no, not taco bell, but authentic Mexican food, homemade tortillas, salsas, etc. Anyway, this place had good beer and drinks, chips were good- but not free. Salsa was in small container, $0.50 to fill it up each time, $1.50 for chips refill. I didn't care too much for the salsa, but guacamole and pico was good. My husband had beef fajitas and said they were good, he just needed salsa. I got cheese enchiladas, they were made with white cheese not cheddar but they tasted good, it was too much cheese though. Like literally a whole block of white cheese melted on top of the enchiladas. Refried beans were good. Tortillas were good too.

Started with Las Tortitas! They were fresh and home made, I didn't like that the texture of the dough was more like a deep fried arepa than bread, harder than I was expecting. With that said, they were deliciously seasoned, tinga was great and the added melted cheese for $2 was a great touch! I have a lot of Mexican co-workers and they teach me real Mexican cuisine on the daily. I felt right at home, flavors were great and the food was not overly heavy. Ordered 2 mini burritos that were not small at all, I had waaaay too much food in my plate. Comes with Guacamole and a very weird clarified butter hot sauce?! It was about "medium" spicy, but it had really nice flavor. Nanarita's were in point and the service was really great.

Really great food for a great price. This massive rice bowl was under $10. Would definitely go again!

They barely just opened 3 months ago and finally got their liquor license and it is amazing! Such cute decor and atmosphere and the staff is so friendly. Food is all SO fresh and delicious and portions are big for the prices. I ordered three bowls: one chicken, one short rib & one fish and we loved all three! Will definitely be back here soon.

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in PR. We ordered queso fundido for appetizer, tacos with pork guacamole and refrito in corn tortilla Mexican style, chicken rice and beans and beef nanasagna. All plates are good but Excellent choice really recommend, nanasagna. We ordered it with mild hot sauce. And the Margaritas are excellent. For dessert ordered home made churros with caramel and ice cream.

    Burritos! Yum!

I sat at the bar, and the staff absolutely made the night. Insanely nice and receptive, they talked with me the entire time, made recommendations, walked me through the dishes and the culture behind them, and kept the strong drinks coming, which I will never complain about. That kind of hospitality is rare and I can't say enough about it. Now for my one nitpick, and this is a me problem more than a them problem: I don't totally love Puerto Rican food. This is authentic comida criolla, which pulls from Caribbean, Latin American, and Spanish influences all at once, and my picky palate keeps asking what exactly it's trying to be. But the vibes, the people, and the setting made the whole experience more than worth it. Come for the criollo cooking, stay for one of the warmest rooms in San Juan.

I tried the snapper but it was a bit on the dry side for my taste. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't have the moist texture I was hoping for.My fave dish I sampled was the shredded beef served in a crispy fried plantain cup(tostones rellenos de ropa vieja on the menu). The beef was tender, juicy, & packed w/ flavor. The crispy plantain added the perfect texture & really elevated the dish. The combo of the savory beef w/ the fried plantain worked so well together and made it the standout food I tried. The waitress was just ok (nothing particularly memorable). While the snapper didn't quite hit the mark for me, the shredded beef in the fried plantain cup was delish & stole the show. It was cool to check out the art & decor.
