YES to the Stewed Chicken! It is AWESOME. Very tender and perfectly seasoned. It comes with rice, plantains and a cabbage salad. We have gone twice and also ordered through a delivery service. I will agree with some of the reviews that say the service is not the best. Food is hit or miss. Some days it's good, some days it's mediocre. Service is HORRIBLE. The ladies don't greet you when you walk in, they take their time asking how they can help you, and they take forever making a simple to-go dish. I've been to this restaurant a few times and I have to say the food is very good. The place is really busy around lunch time because the food is so good. Anyway, as a consequence of this, some people wander in who don't know much about the cuisine. On my last visit, there were a couple of people who had questions about the cuisine and what might be some good suggestions. Well, a lovely woman named Carlene took the time to explain practically every item and made suggestions to a customer who was in front of me. While she was explaining the dishes to the customer, Carlene made sure to check in with me from time to time to let me know she'd be with me as soon as possible. Prior to Carlene's arrival, I had considered leaving because no-one had engaged me while I was waiting. Carlene saved the day. As part of my job, I've dined at some really expensive restaurants, but I've rarely seen such great service from an employee, regardless of the price point. Carlene was terrific so I made sure to get her name and complemented her. Okay, about the food, I've gotten the pernil a few times, along with the white rice and red beans. The food was great every time. Every item in the cafeteria style lineup looked fresh. You can usually see someone carrying things out from the kitchen. I usually get a caffe con leche as well. last time I was there, the whole milk was bad, so they threw it out before serving me the coffee. I was asked if 2% milk would be okay and I agreed to give it a try. My lesson: do not try 2% mild in caffe con leche. It is not the same at all!! Lesson learned! That's the main reason why this is a 4 star rating as opposed to a 5 start rating. One last thing: it's a small pace, but you can tell the owners take pride in their business. My Son and I are very picky and we both give them 5 stars. Food was fresh and tasty and service was great. I was not rushed when trying to decide from all the great options. The ladies at the counter taking orders were very friendly. Pricing was very reasonable They give big portions and food was tasty, not salty. I'm happy to have found a place to get my Latin food fix if I don't want to cook (I'm Dominican) I no longer have to drive over 30 minutes... that's a plus. Start off with they are the restaurant that used to be in the old Willingboro Mart. They get 1 star for ok food. Where do i start: 1 person that served us food. She is beyond rude and seems to always have a bad day. The food was just ok sometimes. Not consistant each visit. Salty as heck and food that is used from a day or more ago. Lastly the PRICES. They will fail in business for unprofessionalism and being way over priced for spanish food! Simply put..price gougers. Who do they think they are and where do they think they're at? When i told the angry and rude worker. That the food is expensive. Her dumbassed response was...i could go to a supermarket purchase n cook my own food. I told her of course i could stupida! But i could also do better than that and drive to Freddy's restaurant 10 mins away in Camden. Where for many yrs now. He has kept us as customers with wonderful consistently great quality food.
