Let's start with the Flautas, have you even seen how Flautas look like? They certainly are not Flat Rolled with onions inside of them and the Avocado you gave me was so dark no wonder you have the blinds down. it wasn't until my wife told you she wanted some also but not that color pointing to my plat then I saw the color I had and even like that waitress, you still didn't even offered to change it, Just bc non-Mexicans don't eat there doesn't mean you have to give them 3 Star meals. Have some Pride. Your service was excellent along with your chips and salsa potions. Mexican soft music by Marcos Antonio Solis or other popular music artists would be an excellent addition to the atmosphere. Dinner at Las Palmas tonight was delicious. I ordered chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce and salsa verda, and chili relleno. It was impeccable. The sour cream enchiladas are on the menu, but adding salsa verde was a special request and is the acid you need for the dish. Takes it over the top into yummy goodness! Their beans are the best I've ever tasted. They have a red tomatillo salsa and a green tomatillo salsa that aren't on the menu that are fabulous. The red one is extra spicy. Our server Ramsey was wonderful. She is very good at her job, and a most interesting person. We've been there 3 times. The food has always been really good, but tonight the food was excellent and the service was stellar! read more

It doesn't look like much on the outside so we were a little leery. But we gave it a go as there aren't too many places to eat in Oakdale. Inside we were surprised by its charm though it's relatively small. They were very accommodating as we were a somewhat large group and were also very attentive. Most of all though was the food. This is the best Mexican restaurant in central Louisiana when it comes to food quality. You can check out my other reviews and tell I'm no push over when it comes to candid comments on yelp. It's so good I keep going back. My favorite is the Tilapia Lemon. I've been back so many times the waitresses already know what I want. I was anti-Mexican before I found this place, if that means anything. Not the most beautiful from the outside. Holes in the parking lots. Leak stains on the tiles. First, let me say, WOW! I had to go through Oakdale recently and the significant other and I decided stop and try out a local eatery for a late lunch. We looked up the area and found Las Palmas. Having spent years travelling the country and looking for Mexican food, I had to check it out. I was not unhappy. The food is excellent, the service is prompt, and the folks there are friendly. The restaurant itself is a bit hard to find if you've never been there. There is only one small sign at the street and the restaurant itself has no signage. It kinda looks like a street-front bar. Don't let that fool you. Also, the inside is pretty simple, but very clean and well kept. The ambient noise level in the restaurant is about 70db, a comfortable conversational level, and the A/C was running right behind us. My significant other said it was a bit chilly, so if you tend to get chilled, might want to take a wrap. The prices were average - about $10 per meal - Lunch specials are available until about 3PM everyday and are cheaper. read more

My husband and I moved to Oakdale back in 2019. We love this restaurant. It is by far my most favorite Mexican place. Their margaritas are the closest I have had to the ones I had on my honeymoon in Mexico. The people are all really wonderful as well. It takes no time to get your food and it is always delicious. Also, this place is very budget friendly. If you have time to stop and eat, this place is no more expensive than a meal at McDonald's or a foot long at Subway. I love this place. read more

This is the best Mexican place in CenLa. Don't waste your money at Mi Tierra. Las Palmas is cheap, portions are enough for 2-3 meals and the folks are great. Literally everything is great. You can't go wrong. Two-for-one margaritas for $5 and one will do it! The French fries are oddly amazing, too! Try one of the House specials that comes out on literally four plates for about $11-12 and you can eat on it for days. read more

There's not a lot to choose from in Oakdale as far as restaurants go. There's Pizza Hut, La Palmas and a couple of donut shops. That's about it. So when we went on a Friday night, the place was jammed. That said, we still were able to get a seat. The atmosphere is that of any campy Mexican restaurant but don't let that fool you. The service was attentive and the food was good. The chips were warm and fresh but not greasy. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas. They came out sizzling and we're very flavorful. My girlfriends order came out wrong but she ate it anyway and it was equally delicious. She got a cheese quesadilla and bean burrito with a white cheddar cheese sauce. They don't speak English very well here. So you need to point to what you want on the menu. It's not gourmet Mexican food but definitely delicious. We would go again read more

For a Mexican restaurant in Oakdale, it was very good. My table of 4 adults shared the combo fajitas for 2 with a cheese dip and had plenty of food. It was very good. Shrimp tasted fresh. The only thing that could have gotten them 5 stars would be the salsa. It was too cold and bland. I would have expected it to be more authentic. Other than that, I would recommend. Good food, fair prices for lunch. The service is usually pretty good and I've never had a problem being seated. Good chips and salsa, with each person getting their own bowl of salsa, which is good, so you can double dip all you want. :) I have found the food varies, sometimes sparse in ingredients, and other times, loaded with generous portions, like in the shrimp chimichanga, where the shrimp varies from a few which were outnumbered by onions to a good portion of the shrimp. I had a quesadilla once that was HUGE, and another time it was about half the diameter. I like it overall, but it's hard to call for sure which day you will arrive. read more

Stopped in on a camping trip. Oakdale was between Chicot State Park and a section of Kisatchie National Forest. Saw good reviews for this restaurant and there weren't a lot of options for this small town. Food was okay. Service was adequate; not begrudging but certainly not friendly. Might eat there again if I was passing that way but wouldn't go out of my way to get there either. read more

I truly learned to appreciate this restaurant because it has an extensive selection for vegetarians. The food is delicious and I absolutely love their chips, salsa, and queso. The sweet tea is a hit and miss but you can't go wrong with ice cold lemon and water. It's not super pricey either. I spent many days when I got out early with friends my senior year eating here.
