Took a while to get someone's attention at the window (ended up ringing the bell) but cordial once we did. Long wait (looked like a large to-go order before us), but finally got our tacos and Oregon burrito only to have the guy walk over and take the burrito back as my husband was unwrapping it. We assume he'd given us the wrong one, because a few seconds later he returned with another. After a rocky start we were pleasantly surprised with our food. The tacos (asada and pollo) were great, very flavorful. My hubby loved his burrito with crunchy potatoes and flavorful steak...actually said it was one of the best he's had in a while. Just inhaled an excellent carne asada breakfast burrito from Las Palomas. I frequent this food cart spot but have only been to this one twice. I usually get my breakfast burrito on at Dog Haus, which is cheaper but I was in the mood for a real Mexican style option. Burrito is massive and for $11 I think it's a pretty good deal. I'd agree with the other reviews that the staff is a bit sullen but they haven't been actively rude to me. read more

I do not know if this truck is related to other Portland Palomas entries, or if it is an additional entry or, perhaps, moved here from somewhere else. Regardless, I'm happy that this particular truck is in this particular neighborhood. The Scout Beer lot is fairly small compared to other pods, but the essentials are well represented here (as of this writing: burgers, dogs, salads, Hawaiian, Korean, Burmese, the eponymous Scout Beer, and Las Palomas). So, it took me a few visits before trying the Mexican option. I was not disappointed. The menu contains the usual protein suspects in the traditional types of wrapper. My steak quesadilla easily provided two filling lunches. The friend who I visited with had a very substantial platter that made him very happy. Being a food truck, expect things to be well prepared, filling,and tasty, but not next level exotic regional Mexican food. Do expect to be happy. read more

First of all I hate reviews. But this was so bad I reinstated my yelp account to write. Upon ordering two "Oregon Burritos" which is meat, French fries, avocado, sour cream and cheese we were told there was no chicken, no al pastor, no pork ONLY steak. Which I'd think would be opposite normally...fine so We ordered one Oregon burrito with steak and one with "beans instead of chicken" because of them not having chicken. Upon receiving our order we realized both burritos were not correct it appeared one was literally just refried bean and cheese burrito. And one whatever this weird combo was... some kind of weird breakfast meat, rice and pinto beans and cilantro. Not one ingredient that was normally in the dish I ordered. Realizing how bad this entire dish had been prepared I sucked up reality and just began eating my burrito... which was suffice to say not good. But my partners burrito was so far off she asked me to return it for her... upon returning it... my dude at the counter continued to act like he did not understand me... but he did cause there's only one "Oregon" burrito on the menu. Finally speaking in complete Spanish to him I was able to convey her order. Which he did finally get right... all in all terrible experience completely chalked up to lack of customer communication and understanding one's own menu. Gotta dial this in. Best street tacos! My family and I can't get enough! The owner is always friendly even on hot, busy days. The cart is either closed or super busy so be prepared to wait a little, but with Scout Brewery right there, you can sip a tasty beverage while waiting for your tasty Mexican food! read more

Okay, the food is great but service is not so much. It's a food truck though, so whatever. Server/chef is no-nonsense, bordering unfriendly, but order always comes out quick and it never stops me from indulging in their beef tongue and tripe tacos. In the area in need of a taco fix? Went to this taco cart a week or so ago around 5pm go to order food and the dude who is maybe the owner looks at me like he is angry before I even say anything, he doesn't say a word or ask what I'd like to order. when I ask him a question about the food he makes an incredibly rude remark and just walks away. There are people in line behind me, and then he comes back, doesn't say a word and just puts his closed sign up. At 5pm. Horrible customer service, i will never go there again and will warn all my friends/family. There are so many good food places to eat in this area, don't waste your time/money at this one, especially when the owner treats his customers like trash! read more
