I saw Mango Mania with a 5.0 on Google maps and immediately decided I needed to go there. Then, I saw it with zero reviews on Yelp and was excited. But then, I saw this Las Ricas Tortas where the Mango Mania should be and wondered if it was closed. Not to be deterred, I walked in anyways (don't think I've ever had a bad torta after all), and of course, I immediately see the cute grass/vine wall with "Mango Mania Frutas & More." Soooo, it's the same joint. I also like the butterfly lights that actually flap their wings. It's feels somewhat minimalist, but also so aesthetic. I ordered a lunch combo of a half lomo torta, fruit salad, and apple agua frescas. The bread on the torta is satisfyingly crisp and thick. The veggies and sauce are also great. Nice texture, however, I thought the flavor of the pork was just okay. Maybe more seasoning? I also like the little spicy chili sauce, actually kinda spicy so proceed at your own risk. Scrumptious fruit salad, maybe this should be in a bowl? Quite good, although this is kinda impossible to screw up as long as the fruits are fresh. This place has a little bit of everything--wraps, tortas, smoothies, juices, milkshakes, and so much more. Every time we go, it feels incredibly authentic, like stepping into someone's kitchen where your food is made from scratch with care. It's a true hidden gem when you're craving something healthier and don't want to feel like you're "eating out" in the usual sense. It does seem like most people do more grab and go there but we sit inside and enjoy our drinks and snacks every time we go. We especially love coming here for their protein smoothies, and the staff is always super friendly. Inside, it's decorated super cute but the storefront is easy to miss from the outside, so I feel like it doesn't get the attention it deserves. Definitely worth seeking out! read more

The outside appearance might be tricky but we decided not to judge the area and try this out .. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed to a mini jungle shop with cute backgrounds and I love that they have menu on tvs ready and clear! The young lady welcomes us with a positive attitude and that's what made it great welcoming us to this shop. Definitely coming back! We need more healthy shop just like this! read more

I came in like at 6:45 PM not knowing they close at 7 PM. I'm not sure if they were in a rush to close because this was one the worst TORTA DE MILANESA I've ever had. Bread was cold. Not even lightly toasted. The milanesa was cold. It appeared to have been cooked, then refrigerated and then placed in the torta without reheating. This is just food being made with no love. I spent $15 and some change for this TORTA DE MILANESA, with very limited effort. I tried to revive it at home but I couldn't. I didn't even finish half the torta and it was not because I was full. Side note, this was a pretty chill environment at this frutas spot. I feel like other items might be really good here. They get 2 STARS because they do have good service and the place looks really clean and colorful. I will go back to try their drinks. This review is only based on the torta. I think I need to update my relationship status with this sandwich shop to "It's complicated". Clearly we've got an on again, off again relationship. Unfortunately I think we're back to "off-again" as it looks like the menu and ingredients have been updated and not for the better. Quality of bread and turkey seem much worse than in the past. Dry almost stale bread, flavorless turkey and watered down acai smoothie with no coconut shavings or fresh fruit, like it was in the past. I'm not sure if this is a one-off mistake from a new employee unfamiliar with how to prep the food and drinks or if this is a result of menu and ingredient changes to cut costs. Will give it another shot just because it's such a convenient location for me and we usually come here about once or twice a week, but if this is the new norm we probably won't be back much at all. Still rooting for the establishment and I'm sure they need to continue experimenting to try and find their market in this neighborhood, but at least for me; this ain't the right change. read more

We stopped by Mango Mania to get some quick sandwiches for lunch. Unfortunately, our quick stop didn't work out as planned.  We only ordered three sandwiches and one smoothie, yet it took one hour and a half to complete our order. Yes, you read that correctly... 90 minutes to receive three sandwiches & one smoothie.  The family ahead of us only ordered four smoothies, and they waited for over an hour. Ridiculous! Don't eat the Tortas! We've been here before for a some smoothies and loved it. This time we bought 2 tortas, a smoothie, and an acai bowl. We absolutely loved the service with the new owners, but we got FOOD POISONING!! I wrote a good review before even eating my food because of how happy I was with the service, but removed it after me and my partner spent the night stuck in the bathroom. We had to miss work for 2 days because we got so sick. Their other stuff is delicious but definitely will never eat the tortas here again!!!! :( read more

Food is good half the time, I work a block away so it's very tempting for me to come here instead of grabbing all the fast food around. I ordered a single bagel and I've been sitting here for over 20 minutes ( I'm the only person in here) . I keep giving this place more chances but I've never received my food in under half an hour. Wanted to see menu and grab a little "something-something" just to get to know the place. We ordered a corn in a cup, matcha frappe and a strawberry michelagua. All was delicious! The girls in the front give great customer service and are very welcoming. I was standing outside looking to the menu through the window because I had my dog with me, and they told me I could come in with her! so that's a plus! (pet friendly) they offered a pup cup too! I do enjoy the food here and the service. However, a couple times I've gone around 10:30 or 10:45 and they're not open. They say they open at 10 am but doesn't always seem like they can make it in at that time. I just wish they would list hours they're actually going to be there so people can go when they truly plan to open. read more

Recently had a catered lunch from this place. The platter of sandwiches was beautiful and the variety was a definite crowd, pleaser everybody enjoyed their sandwiches and went back for seconds. The corn cups were also a big hit, and the pepino Agua Fresca was refreshing and sweet. Everybody enjoyed the lunch and I will definitely stop by next time. I'm in the imperial Beach area. Best sandwich I've ever had, no lie. The other day, I had their Torta de Lomo and, again, best torta in my life. As expensive as eating out is getting, the prices here are good.
