No rice just beans guacamole salsa. The burrito was HUUUUUUUUGE! $13.04 for the huge burrito. Bring napkins. You could actually share a burrito, and you would be happy with just a half. The little market also has produce sodas and array of salsas to buy. You can buy meats by the pound, which includes carnitas, birria, chicharron and chicken tinga with potatoes. I stopped in for avocados and a few other produce items. It's a nice market that includes hot food items that can be eaten on their patio or available to go. I was disappointed, however, on the quality of the avocado. They were well priced at .99 each, but they were either over ripe and very squishy, well beyond good usage. Why they were still on the shelf is a mystery to me. The onions and peppers I picked up were in good condition and well priced. The cashier was friendly enough. read more

Update: keep trying to give La Posta the benefit of the doubt since this market is so conveniently located near our house but I just sent my husband in to buy Camaronazo which he discovered had an expectation date of April 2025. Worse customer service I've ever experienced as a customer. The lady at the food court doesn't listen at orders and doesn't cater to your order. I typically get the $18 carnitas family platter, salsas, menudo, rice pudding , and their chocolate cake flan is on par with some of the best desserts you can ever get (compared to high end desserts even!). Today I went to la Posta at 4:15ish on Monday 7/24. The lady behind the counter who assisted me on my order rice, beans, spicy salsa, and a carne asada taco was the sweetest. I didn't get her name but she was younger and had her hair tied in a low bun. She understood that I didn't speak Spanish and assisted me beautifully. She really made my day! I ordered food through GrubHub for pick up, I arrived at the counter and they didn't even know that there was an order. I placed my same order and they put it out on the counter ready to go and the woman behind the counter said that I had to pay for it, I informed her that I had, I showed her the receipt and she said that's not good enough she left my food on the counter, She made me wait while she serviced other customers before she had time to go over and look at her device to see that it was paid for. My food sat on the counter for 10 minutes getting cold before I was allowed to leave with it, she also would not let me have the salsa that I chose with the meal, the same one that I have taken every time I've been there with the same deal I will not be going back to this place, I had things not been screwed up, I would've placed an order for another $30 worth of items before I left, instead I went to another Mexican market and got the rest of my food for a family meal read more

We wanted to have a nacho party with our immediate family so we were thinking of ideas and decided to call La Posta Market to see what they had in mind. Boy did they not disappoint! They told us they can do a family style table nacho with carnitas or any meat of our choosing! So we decided to give it a try and all we can say was WOW! We heard from family this is THE place to get tamales and they were not wrong. It is a quaint well stocked Mexican grocery store with fresh and hot food counter with at least 4 types of tamales, including a Pineapple tamale, rice, beans, salsas and ceviches. My husband and I stop here frequently, usually to purchase laundry detergent since we do laundry up the street. A few times we have tried their food.... and all the times the customer service was the worst. Today we decided to take our business to the farm fresh market on palm. They are nice and have awesome customer service. I'm not sure if this la Posta is a family owned establishment but they truly don't care about their customers or maybe it's a certain type of customer... ahemm.... the lighter skinned folk. They have this demeanor like you are putting them out when you are just standing there waiting to tell them what you want. I've been here before for ready marinated carne asada meat. I made street tacos at home and it was extremely delicious. I also bought a container of their pico de gallo but I wasn't a fan. It was just a tad too bland for me and lacked the "fresh" taste- by that I mean it lacked the crisp because the tomatoes seemed really mooshy and no lemon??? And no garlic - I need garlic. I tried to doctor it up but meh I just need to remember not to be lazy lol. They also have a huge tub of ceviche which my sister in law got, apparently my brother in law loves it. I am on my way today to buy 2/$100 meat packages for us and my in laws. It's freezer stock time! I will review more later... This is a great little market. The butcher shop is one of my favorites all around. Their seasoned beef and chicken make excellent tacos when grilled. We also get the spicy Portuguese sausages or T-Bone steaks for the grill. We also love their fresh pico de gallo, and delicious guacamole. The ceviche is another favorite that couples well with their homemade tortilla chips. I don't really venture beyond their meat department and prepared foods counter because it is very small market. But even when they are busy, they are able to deal with the crowds. You don't have to wait long to check out. read more

At the kitchen they have great deals on carnitas and rotisserie chicken meals for the fam. Both come with rice and beans and salsa. All the salsa's are great along with the guacamole. This store is like a walk-in pantry. Super small yet clean and convenient for my needs. Sometimes I don't feel like Wal-Mart vons or grocery outlet. I come here really quick and get what I need. They got common produce and a fairly good selection of meats. Also; they got hot food to go that looks super good. I have not yet to try it but one of these days. Good little market in IB. I prefer going here for meat over Vons. We regularly get the carnitas meal to go, I think it's the #1. For less than $20 we can feed a family of 6 dinner. The meal comes with carnitas, salsa, rice, beans & tortillas. Great value! read more

What can I say about this place that hasn't been said in the other reviews. It's a small market. 1/4 produce 1/4 meat dept 1/4 grocery 1/4 hot food counter 100% tiny Only 1 shopping cart per aisle please. Otherwise you'll get weird looks from the person coming the opposite way. Some of the grocery items are a bit overpriced, which is expected. This isn't a huge grocery store. It's more of a convenience store. However, the marinated, boneless chicken leg meat in the meat dept. is to die for. Try the chiles rellenos in their hot food dept. Service is nice. Smiles all around. I've been coming here for over 8 years now and I've gotten to know the staff old and new. As long as I live in IB, I'll keep coming back for more La Posta. :-) read more

Very expensive. The one guy behind the counter near the liquor is rude, and ignores people. It stinks in there...always having to hold my nose. They have an area to get smoothies and slushys and other things...I mention this because the smoothies are wonderful, especially the coconut smoothie, but they have a menu for slushy's and yet they dont serve them...this is very disappointing cause my son always wants one, but cant have...if you dont serve them, then why have a menu up for them? The isles are very stuffy, you cant move around too much..They do have a taco area, I havent tried it but some stuff does look good, especially the different kind's of salsa...so if it wasnt so crowded, a rude man that works in the liquor area, and the nasty smell there...it would be an okay place to quick shop... Okay went there again today, and so very disappointed! Okay as i mentioned above about the coconut smoothies...well went there today to get one, only to be told they dont make them anymore... What?????? So then they have a sign there for vanilla ice cream...they dont do that anymore....What????? You have a sign but you dont serve it? What an amazing place to buy food! Yes, they do have hot food here, but you'll be more amazed with their butcher shop, tortilleria, and bakery. It's hard to believe that food this damn good is so damn cheap. My husband loves to pick up chorizo and adobada, FRESHLY made tortillas, all the fixings, some pastries or my favorite - tres leches. Fuck yes. Here's a typical dinner he'll pick up for $6.99 you can get a whole COOKED chicken, a pint of beans, a pint of rice, a stack of tortillas, and salsa. Even their butcher shop prices are great. Seriously, if you're trying to live on the cheap (which I like to do to save money for important things like vodka and good beer), then you should pay a visit here.
