    Las Trancas Dip
    Christina D.

The Las Trancas dip is so delicious. It's rich and meaty. You could easily make it meal all to itself. It's a blend of ground meat, pico, and cilantro mixed into white cheese dip. The chicken fajita burrito was cooked with tender chicken pieces, seasoned well, and packed with veggies. Same for the chicken chimichanga. The tortilla was fried just enough to be crispy without it being overly done, and it was stuffed full of juicy shredded chicken and veggies.

    Chilles rellenos

I had the strangest chilies rellenos I've ever tried in the Western Hemisphere. Starting from the outside in - the sauce was reminiscent of BBQ in taste and color (see photo). The coating was appropriate for a corn dog and the cheese was that gooey county Fair nacho cheese. I took about 5 bites trying to find a redeeming one, but failed. My husband's pollo asado was ok, but too salty. My house salad had more green peppers and chunky sliced onion than any other ingredients.

Stopped here off the highway and it was delicious! Warm chips and fresh salsa. Great, friendly service. Gluten free friendly. I had the scrimp tacos- very fresh and yummy! So happy we stopped!

Was traveling from Florida to Ohio and stopped for lunch, turned out to be a great decision, food was great and reasonably priced, and wish I could have tried the margaritas but still had 200 miles to drive for the day.

Voted best restaurant in Ravenswood...... by our family. And by the look of most of the other…read morereviews in Yelp, it's a favorite of other families too! It was a hot steamy 4th of July day when we made the trek to Las Fajitas. I mean, for this west coaster, the heat was brutal. I mentioned to my daughter that I can deal with dry heat, but throw in the humidity and stick a fork in me, I'm done. Heat is heat dad, she said. Deal with it. Then deal me out! But of course, I dealt with it, and thanks to the great folks at Las Fajitas, I wasn't dealt a bad hand. Ahhh a cool breeze hit us as we opened the door. That's worth five stars right there! From that point it only got better. Nothing on the menu chipped away from the LF's celestial lofty perch. Chips and salsa did their job and made us thirsty. Our drinks showed up promptly and mine, (beer of course) was frothy and cold. The orders of tacos, Fajitas, and salad, arrived at the table hot, and in the case of the salad, cold. All were spot on. I felt as if I were on the Mexican Riviera enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. Now, to be honest, I've never been to the Mexican Riviera, but I have been to Mexico, and have eaten their food offerings. Some of which I was wary of, but not so at the Ravenswood Riviera. Our food was delicious and the aftereffects were limited to the normal..... I think you get the drift (pun intended). "Ole" to Ravenswoods finest! Enjoy what you're about to experience. Quick Tip: Las Fajitas is two stories. One connected to the other by a spiral staircase. Throughout our meal I was watching the servers struggling up and down. If you're not there to booze it up, give em a break and sit downstairs. I'm sure they'll appreciate your choice. I wonder if they ever thought of installing a dumbwaiter.

Amazing place! Very nice inside, great food, great prices, great margarita, and great service!read more

We ordered the Mothman Burrito and the Mothman Chimichanga and I would have loved to try the Mothman margarita as well but we had to order to go and I was driving. We were really happy with the food. My husband had the shredded chicken Mothman burrito and they use a queso and tomatoes to decorate the top and extra tortilla to make the wings. The burrito had good flavor but it wasn't overpowering and you could really taste the chile verde. I thought I had just ordered myself a small chimichanga but it actually turned out to be a dessert chimichanga and I could not have been more excited. It was like a chocolate banana crepe with cinnamon syrup. It was super delicious and the prices here are so reasonable! They also gave us some chips and salsa and the salsa was peppery with a roasted flavor and just the consistency that we like. We were smiling and really enjoying our food and that's definitely what it's all about.

Was it delicious, nope (kinda weak and grape like) who the heck cares, it was full of character. Who doesn't want a MOTHMAN chimichanga dessert with red eyes, a smile and wings that was filled with Nutella and banana... yes, delicious. Food was great actually, they even have MOTHMAN entree, went off script for the mean and everyone had hot tasty eats, with a big shout out to the in-house tamales. Located in the downtown where lots of things touristy keeps the area going, but locals know and tourists should not miss out. Service was friendly and hopefully that MOTHMAN stays happily in his own airspace. Tragic loss to those in 1967, however, with the continued story telling it keeps memories alive and in this case brought us to some good local eats.

Dripping this on the chips and my Mexican rice was my favorite part of the meal, Guacamole - the fresh diced tomatoes and red onion added crunch and flavor which I really enjoyed. Salsa - I'm a little torn on this. The salsa was fresh and flavorful but there is a different flavor here that I can't put my finger on that tasted different from other Charleston area Mexican restaurants of tried when in town. I also ordered the combination taco plate with Birria taco and chicken tinga. I wasn't expecting sour cream in the chicken tinga taco so I couldn't finish that. I tried to eat around to get the chicken but the sauce was not very good. This didn't taste like chicken tonga and I wouldn't order it again. The Birria taco also did not taste like Birria that I've had. This was more like beef roast on a taco with toppings. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good but it also didn't come with consume which was disappointing. The sides were rice and beans and while they were ok, I was expecting more flavor and authentic Mexican cheese instead of the plain shredded cheese on top. This was very, very Americanized Mexican food but I think they know their audience. Whatever you do, don't order a Margherita from here. I should've learned my lesson about Charleston area Mexican restaurants the last time I was in town but unfortunately I thought it was just the other restaurant down the block. I'm convinced they use grain alcohol or some other very cheap liquor in these in some of the Mexican restaurants in the area. The flavor was way off and was definitely not tequila. I only had this drink on a full stomach and it gave me a headache and nausea the next day.
