I told the OM my time constraints and was told yes, they could have me come in early in the morning on Friday to have my consultation and would block off enough time so I could be treated same day. I was told my appointment would be the first one at 8am and they asked me to come in 15 mins early so I could fill out new patient paperwork. This morning, I arrived at 7:45am, filled out my paperwork and was told my appointment was actually at 8:15, which I thought was strange but not a big deal. I also confirmed that I would be able to be treated same day and was reassured yes as long as the provider said I was a good candidate. When I saw the provider, she said she could treat my veins. Maybe not the ones closer to my neck and she would have to check with the medical director. I told her I was ok with not treating those and just wanted her to do the sclerotherapy on my chest. Then she told me I would have to schedule another appointment as she had other patients to treat. I told her I was told I would be treated same day, it was clear she had no idea what the manager told me. She then left the patient room to check and then came back a few mins later to tell me they cannot treat me at all. That they only offer sclerotherapy on legs. I was honestly stunned and disappointed at the entire experience. Why was I told multiple times by different people they could treat me only to tell me they couldn't? I feel like they wasted 2 hours out of my day. Please don't tell a potential patient you can treat a condition you can't.

He was friendly and even joked a bit which I appreciated because it helped with my anxiety. Since my surgery was so late he told me that he wouldn't be seeing me before discharge which was fine given the late hour. However he met with my hubby after the surgery and explained how everything went which was well. I didn't get to the unit until 2 am just because it took awhile for me to wake up. I was discharged later that day after lunch. I scheduled a follow up for two weeks post op and that went well. He has a great bedside manner. His office was clean and the staff were all friendly. In fact, I made an appt for him to check out some vein issues I have. I'm glad he was the one on call that night! Highly recommend him!

At this point, I cannot comment on the doctor's treatment itself because no diagnosis has been made yet and treatment has not started. At my initial appointment, I only saw the doctor for about 2-3 minutes. I explained my symptoms, and he said he could not prescribe anything, including medication for anxiety, until the cause was determined. He ordered an MRI, blood work, and EMG testing, which I appreciate. However, a few days after the visit, my symptoms worsened. I decided I did not want to wait for insurance authorization and was willing to pay out of pocket for the MRI. I called the office multiple times and could not get through, so I eventually had to drive there in person. I requested that they send the referral to the imaging center, but I was told that a message would be sent to the doctor and that, because they have many patients, it would be handled whenever the doctor deemed appropriate. As a patient whose symptoms were getting worse, I felt there was very little urgency or concern. The lack of communication and the difficulty reaching the office have been the most disappointing part of my experience so far. I hope to provide an update later, once I have my results and see how the doctor manages my care moving forward.
