I really really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, it was not a match made in heaven. Three co-workers/friends and I all wanted to get hair removal done on various parts of our bodies. Two of my co workers wanted to get their chins done, one friend wanted to get her brazilian done and I wanted my forearms arms done. After doing a bunch of collective research, we came up with A2Z laser/Laser and Organic Spa. It seemed like a good, decent place, and had seemingly great reviews. We all called for our appointments. Because we have different schedules, we were unable to go together to our appointments together - which was something we had wanted to do, but you really can't help scheduling differences. I have some experience with getting lasered (good bye hairy legs!), Angela was super nice and sweet explaining the process. She was using a different machine than I had used on my legs - the Soprano. Instead of the laser, which blows cool air and actually zaps the little hairs, this was more of a rolling laser, and used a cooling gel... kind of felt like I was going for a sonogram, but on my arms. Now you're probably wondering why the low rating despite the fact that Angela was super nice, the location was nice and clean, and Angela was very well organized. The machine. It didn't work. I went for my six appointments, and throughout the six appointments, there was no zapping (which feels a little satisfying, die little hairs, die!), there was no pinch, nothing. Mostly just pressure and occasionally it got really hot. Once. Once did I feel the pinch. Angela and her technician both said the machine was turned all the way up to the highest setting. Even Angela was surprised it didn't work on my arms. I know what you're thinking, maybe my hair is too light. Maybe my skin too light. However, this machine is supposed to work on all skin and hair types. Which is what the sign in her waiting room advertises. Which brings me back to my friends/co -workers. All three of them are naturally brunettes. Dark brunettes. The one who got her brazilian done, while I haven't personally looked for myself, her swears there's more hair. My two co-workers who got their chins done? I have looked for myself, it's pretty much the same as when they started. They are disappointed, because instead of plucking, they now have to shave, and are both very self conscience about it. Understandably so. My arms look pretty much the same as when I started. My conclusion is this, the Soprano machine advertises itself as a almost painless machine. While I will agree that it was virtually painless, I feel like we traded the painless method for a machine that was sub par and did not do it's job. I'd rather stick to alexandrite lasers from now on. While you do feel the laser and it occasionally smells like burnt hair (okay, it really smells like burnt hair) at the end of the day, those little hairs are like a dead parrot, gone from this world. read more

After encountering with many bad laser facilities (ineffective & not clean) and staff who have poor etiquette, I have finally found a laser spa place that is clean, makes me feel comfortable and does a professional job (results show). My sister bought me a laser deal for 6 sessions as a gift, after finishing her sessions here and seeing results. I have 1 more session left, and I have seen an extreme difference. Hair growth has been definitely impaired. The laser treatment here is truly 100% effective, quick and does not hurt as many have stated on Yelp. I have been to a laser spa in Manhattan a few years ago, and it was ineffective and painful. The technician was very professional and friendly. She does a great job! Besides that, another bonus is that the laser machine, Soprano, that is used in this facility has been considered the gold standard of hair removal effectiveness. I'm so glad I found this place - finally! I searched groupon for a promotion for laser and then checked the reviews for this location. Angela had great reviews and I decided to give it a try. For starters - she was very honest. She outlined exactly what the promotion covers. I decided not to go with the promotion for the time being. She was also very clear that I may need more than 6 sessions. Her honesty was a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure what's up with the Laser Hair Removal world, but most technicians are not honest. It's terrible since it gives a bad name to the field. I was previously at another place and I had 12+ agonizing sessions. When I came to Angela she explained that the woman was using an IPL machine. Which is terribly painful and ineffective for long term. Location/Facilities: The office is squeeky clean and decorative. It's very elegantly designed, has a relaxed vibe, and there's always a scented lit candle. As soon as I finish my session I see Angela all ready disinfecting, I like that, it makes me feel confident and safe. Technology: The technology used is the best and newest on the market. ITS PAIN FREE. Don't get scared that it isn't working. Like one silly reviewer wrote that the machine must have been off. Lol!! If you've done traditional laser up until now that you've experienced pain, in this case you rarely will. All you need to feel is some pinching. Technician: As I said before, Angela is honest about her work. Don't expect results immediately. Every body area works differently. I've seen results after 3 sessions and sometimes had to wait for 6 or more. I've done 5 sessions on my underarm and am nearly done except for some pesty lightweight hairs. Got a laser deal for 6 sessions from Living Social. Really didn't know what to expect, whether the machine they use will work or how the employees were going to be. I had three sessions already for my upper lip and its been going well. Only one person works there, so she's both the receptionist and the laser technician. She's very nice and makes sure I'm comfortable, that I'm not in pain and all that good stuff. The machine used is the soprano and its not painful at all (at least for me. I've tried the at-home Tria system and that hurt like a b$&*#). So far, I've had reduction in the number of hair follicles. If you're worried about buying a group deal for here, don't! Update, now that i have been to other laser location and A2Z being my first laser spot, i now noticed that i was getting jipped because the laser was always cold, meaning, it was not on, it only got bit of warmth from time to time and if you just feel it cold then nothing is happening. yes she is very nice i liked her but im sure she has told some of you that you will need more session. dduuuuhhhh!! because she doesn't even give you the ones you pay for to begin with, so newbies to laser beware read more

I've been here once, and I am posting this merely hours after my visit. That's how won over I am! Bought a Groupon for 6 laser treatments. I've had laser before, and it hurt. It wasn't painful enough to not do it, just was most certainly not pain free. A2Z Laser uses the Soprano unit - which if you've never had the older technology, you might not value what this means. It's essentially pain free, quick, and effective. The technician took the time to explain the differences in the machines, and now that I've experienced it, I will only go to a place that uses the newer technology. As for the spot, it's clean, welcoming, and relaxed. The technician is friendly and informed. I will not go into the depth of my experience here but I will tell you that Im of a Mediterranean origin and Im very lucky with me genome of being very hair. Im now hair free and there is no need to shave. Angela is very friendly so is her staff. My package ended and I was told I'm a rare case becuase my hair was still very much growing with no change. Received a gift certificate to A2Z ages ago and finally stopped in last weekend. I must say, this place is heavenly. I made an appointment for their organic facial and wound up getting a bit of laser done as well. The procedures were flawlessly executed and my skin feels fantastic- I swear I've been glowing ever since. Kudos for a fantastic service! All in all, my experience at A2Z was such a needed escape. I previously did laser on small areas of my face at a regular laser place. I did 10 sessions, and still had hair growing back. For one reason or another, the laser wasn't affective. I also have a bad case of PCOS which obviously played a role. I have very thick, black hair and HATE shaving. I purchased a groupon for a large area, and paid out of pocket for another large area. So far I had one session on my full leg and it's been 3 week. I shaved only once! It is expensive but it's worth every penny. I wouldn't say it was painless, I did feel some pain. Definitely not as bad as regular laser and it's much more effective and I like that I can shave in between! Highly recommended! read more

So I have been doing laser at another business but I came across this Groupon deal for the business above for I spent a few hundred dollars since it was a good deal . I bought it and made the appointment the same day went to the business the next day . As I got there this lady at the front told me blatantly OUR LASERS DO NOT WORK ON DARKSKIN. If you were a lighter it would work but it won't work on your skin type . I wish she would have put it in the Groupon that it's only for white persons . Angela is great! I had just finished my 6 sessions I've purchased on Groupon. I did my Brazilian and I love, love the results! Results vary from person to person.. I just need touch-ups here and there now. The place is super clean, always smell fresh and good. Angela sanitizes everythingggggg the minute she is done with you. There's never a problem making an appt in advance, however, if you need a cancellation last minute - it might be a problem to reschedule given appts are made weeeks prior. I usually make my next appt the same day after my procedure is done. I never waited for each appt. It was always in and out in 10 minutes. Street parking is super easy. read more

purchased a groupon for 6 sessions on a large area. i've had 2 sessions so far. they have a new technology/machine "Soprano XL". the first time was a little painful/hot but it's adjustable with this machine. results were very good. the second time, i don't think i did it at as high of a setting so i'm not sure how the results are going to be but so far so good. the receptionist is very friendly. I bought a promotion off groupon for 6 laser sessions. I just completed my 5th session and the results are great. My last session was sometime in September and I haven't needed to shave my legs since. All I saw were a few thin hairs here and there. I agree with a previous yelper that said Angela is very honest. She's also very knowledgable in laser hair removal unlike other laser salons I've been to. I've been to two others before and they were incredibly painful with little results. The machines Angela use are actually quite relaxing the first few sessions. You experience heat and hair zapping but it's very tolerable. It wasn't until my 4th session that it got a little intense but still tolerable. Overall, I recommended a2zlaser entirely. read more

called and spoke to angela the manager of this spa, regarding a groupon promotion, so I wanted to buy laser hair removal to do my full neck, I saw that groupon had a deal for medium areas which included only front or back of neck NOT FULL, so I called to ask if it was possible if I purchased the large package if I could get my full neck done, she immediately cut me off and rudely said NO, I then told her that large package deals areas of treatments options are backs or abs and that my neck is way smaller than those areas and she cut me off again and just said no. horrible way to do business, I called many other locations and they have absolutely no problem with me doing the full next by purchasing the large package so I guess I will be driving a couple of more miles elsewhere and actually go to a place that cares about their customers and their business and that are actually nice and polite. P.S: angela there is hundreds of options for laser hair removal out there, so stop being so rude and u should be a little bit better at conducting business, I found a way better deal at another location, good luck with your business. smh read more
