I have been going to Yan Fam for acupuncture, off and on for over 6 years for various…read moremusculoskeletal problems as they arise. I am a physician who did not initially believe in acupuncture and was skeptical at first, but I decided to give him a try. My first problem was a partial rotator cuff tear and I had been suffering with daily pain for 1 year. The pain was 24/7. I was told by an orthopedic sports medicine doctor that surgery was my my only choice to correct my problem. Needless to say, Yan corrected my problem and now I have been pain free and very active with sports and working out in the gym without any problems. I had sciatica next and he resolved that for me. I had a trigger finger problem and he resolved that for me. I have sent many patients to him with severe migraine headaches and they have all been very pleased with their good results. I have sent patients to him with severe menstrual cramps and they too were very pleased with their results. I sent one patient to him with a ganglionic cyst on his wrist and he was already scheduled for surgery. I told him to cancel his surgery and give Yan a try. He did so and his ganglionic cyst on his wrist disappeared after several treatments and no surgery was needed. I am very impressed with Yan's skills as an acupuncturist and I highly recommend him without reservations to anyone with a multiplicity of problems that are causing them pain of various sorts. However, to know the length of my session ahead of time would have been more calming vs lying there wondering how much longer I had to lie there with the needles in my body. And to say there is no pain is exaggerated. There is some pain, but somewhat minimal. I did have negative effects afterwards that lasted for several days. I feel I am probably the exception and not the rule, as I see many benefiting from acupuncture. But it obviously is not beneficial to everyone.

It seems so obvious now that it would be part of the plan of care yet, I've never had it done. Also during my appointment, I received electrotherapy and had a mild adjustment and then laid on a rolling table! Much more than I thought I was going to get at a consultation appointment. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow to discuss the findings of the x-ray and determine the treatment plan. This is never been the case at any other chiropractor I've been to. Other places do a visual exam and then an adjustment and tell you to come back for another apt..no real plan which was the exact opposite of what I experienced here! Top-notch service. Friendly. He answers all of my questions, whether they are business related or medical. He is also really good natured and makes the process less stressful. The practice also has a wide range of hours, meaning I have been able to set appointments at any time (as long as I book out a couple weeks), even after work! The front desk staff is also very kind, I am always greeted, and they are always willing to work with me on scheduling. They also have a whole corner (pictured) with recommendations for massage therapists, gyms, and other treatments you might need on your healing journey, which I think is super cool.
