Laser by Nicole is amazing! I came in for the first time and they instantly made me feel at home with my laser session. My therapist made sure I felt comfortable while getting my treatment done and made sure the "zapping" was comfortable on my skin. It definitely was not painful at all. I would describe it as a slight discomfort that you grow into and get used to at no time. It's not compared to a rubber band sling at all and it definitely is less painful than waxing especially since the more you do it the faster your hair will start disappearing. I can't speak for my results yet as it's only a few days since my first session. All I can say is that a Nicole was extremely nice and punctual and accommodating at booking my appointment over the phone. Round of applause for Groupon on introducing me to Laser by Nicole. There is nothing short of great I would say of this service and its provider as its been such a pleasant experience. As a 1st timer on laser hair removal, I did some research on pain and time it takes for not only the procedure itself but the results! I unfortunately got a mix of opinions on levels of pain, so I really had to rely "Is it worth it". First off I want to say how wonderful Nicole and her staff are. They are polite, professional, and made me feel comfortable for all 8 sessions. I know what you're thinking, "8 sessions?! Freak that, I'll stick to my razor and wax thank you" but (for small area on face), it took LESS THAN 5 MINUTES each session! I never dreaded coming by, and of course it doesn't strain much time of my day, its awesome! As for the pain, I would be dishonest if I said I did not feel any discomfort. I have high tolerance for pain, but I would say it felt similar to a slap of a rubberband. It was quick and the sting only lasted a couple minutes after. And I did not experience any signs of the procedure like swelling or redness (i'm very fair-skinned) so I wasn't embarrassed to be around the public. The times they have available for appointments are various and convenient. They are so flexible with cancellations, no pesky fees of any. I've had to cancel, or sometimes even forget my appointments, that they have always been understanding. And getting in contact with them was stress-free. The results are astonishing! However Once you do get a call back they are super friendly and very patient about answering questions. I didn't even know there was a Groupon and the employee shared that with me which I thought was great. I am the biggest baby known to mankind where giving blood petrifies me. This was not at all the burning or pinching sensations I read on random online sites to expect. The technician Jennifer was so sweet and welcoming. She described everything in detail but got me in an out in under 10-15 minutes. She was very attentive to how scared I was and made slight adjustments to the intensity of the laser as such. I've been going here for 2 years, and this is the best laser hair removal experience out of all the places I've been to! It's easy to make an appointment with the new system they implemented and overall very efficient. The facility is clean and easy to find. All of the technicians are great, I've had most of my appointments with Jen who is very professional and sweet. The machine they use is much less painful then other places I've been to, and with every visit it gets less and less painful since there's decreased hair growth there. It's also pretty fast. So far I have gone for two sessions. The first session for underarms was with Leslie who was amazing. I felt comfortable right away, so much so that I decided to do my bikini area next time. I also noticed a difference in my hair growth after that first visit. The process wasn't as painful as I had expected. It was towards the end of the treatment that I started to feel a twinge of pain but it wasn't unbearable. Where do I start? OK - maybe the whole pain thing. You see, for me, this was really the sticking point. I will admit I was a little scared. But, when you've decided to deal with your unwanted hair situation, you figure you have to just grin and bear it, right? WRONG! There was literally NO pain! I am not kidding, and as I sit here typing this review, I still cannot believe it. I mean, I could feel something - maybe a slight pinching sensation - but, nothing I would call pain. And definitely NOT the "rubber band sting" that I had read about. Nicole explained that she has a very unique machine, and she uses a special setting that allows her to effectively remove hair without the really painful "zap" that other machines inflict. I can tell you that she had already started the treatment while we were talking, and I didn't even know she had started. That's how little I felt it. So, here's how it went. I was greeted by the receptionist at the salon where Nicole practices and asked to wait just a few minutes. Nicole then came out and escorted me back to her room and asked a few questions. She explained what we would do, and since we were working on my armpits, I took off my shirt and put on the protective sunglasses she provided. (Actually, they were kinda cute and funky, and I want a pair!) After I laid down on the table, she applied a gel to my armpit (it felt a lot like the stuff they use for sonograms) and then she started going over the entire area with a wand. As I said, she was already doing the treatment, and I honestly didn't even notice. She then did the other armpit - and we were done. The actual treatment time took about 2 full minutes. I asked about after care, and she told me there is none. So, seriously, this is nothing short of miraculous if you ask me! She noted that it could take up to 8 treatments to get the full effect, and they need to be spread out 6 weeks apart. So, I'll be going back in September. But, for now, I'm gonna consider a few other spots to have treated. Now that I know how simple and painless this is, not to mention relatively low-cost (when you factor in razors or waxing, etc) I can't imagine why I would deal with unwanted hair for the rest of my life when I can do something like this and be done with it FOREVER! read more
