There should be a notification for businesses whose majority of 5-star reviews are from yelp accounts with less than 12 reviews. I took it upon myself to take advantage of a Groupon deal for a hybrid set that included a fill. Well - you get what you pay for. When I initially reached out for her availability, she gave me one option and it was in the morning. I let her know that I can't come during the day as I work 730AM to 4PM. She was able to book me for 4:20PM, perfect. Well, the day of my appointment (7/5), she texts me saying she's cancelling all her appointments that day since she was exposed to COVID - ok, fine, that's understandable, it's running rampant this summer. We'll reschedule. She texts me the next day (7/6) and asks if I can come in the following day (Thursday, 7/7) at 12 or 2pm - and I remind her that again, I cannot come during working hours. Fast forward to when I was able to book my appointment for 7/13, she texts me the day before asking if I can come at 12 instead of my scheduled appt at 4:15, and I reminded her that AGAIN, I cannot come during working hours, so we kept my appt at 4:15. APPOINTMENT DAY Wherever her normal suite was, there was construction being done, so we were in a different suite - a bit odd, because we were in a corner behind cubicles, but ok, no big deal, things happen. As she's doing my consultation, she asks if I've had extensions before and how long ago, etc. I let her know I had just got them done about a month ago, and they lasted for a good three weeks, with the last few having just fell off days before this appointment. She let me know that I had a few gaps, but she would do her best to lash me up. During the appointment, she would leave periodically and seemed a bit ill-mannered- maybe she was upset? I don't know, but she would drop her tweezers or tools pretty aggressively before she'd get up and hurriedly walk out. So I would just awkwardly lay there with my eyes shut. Anyway, after application, we booked my next appointment and I tipped her through venmo. Come Saturday, ALL the lashes on my left eye have fallen off. So I text her Sunday saying, "I think we'll have to cancel my fill appointment. All the lashes on my left eye have fallen off and more than half have fallen off my right." She asks for a picture (7/18) and I send one- then she asks if I can come in the following day at 11 - to which I remind her (again) that I work until 4PM. She says it's ok and that she'll just fix them on my appointment day. She says "I'll add more classic this time. Maybe your natural lashes aren't strong for volume." I say thank you, she says you're welcome, etc, etc. Fast forward to yesterday, she reminds me of our appointment for today, and I told her that I am actually unable to keep it because I don't have reliable transportation at the moment. She says "Unfortunately, I don't have anything available for this week, you might lose your second Groupon deal." She's referring to the fill, which at this point, there is absolutely nothing to fill. So I let her know that it doesn't need to be this week since there is nothing to fill and all lashes fell off within 5 days of application. No response. I text her to follow up today, if we are able to reschedule or am I losing my Groupon and she says "I was willing to give you a new set even though you didn't have any lashes left I don't have any other available appointment for this week sorry" And I re-iterate that it's ok if the appointment is not for this week, and ask if she's willing to schedule for another time, and she comes back with "My Groupon deal is the fill after two weeks. Unfortunately I'm not able to reschedule you. I was willing to give you a full set today which I don't really do for Groupon deal" At this point, I'm ready to cut my losses. I did let her know though that I understand that she was willing to give me a new set, but I was not entirely at fault for the lashes falling out within 5 days (and please note, that this has NEVER happened to me in all my experiences receiving lash extensions). Had they not fallen out, this would still be a fill-in appointment. However, given my current situation with transportation that I had mentioned to her; I think this could've been handled better. She was indifferent to my situation. This is probably the most frustrating experience I've had with a service provider. Her inability to comprehend our mutual availability or lack of attention to my repetitive reminders of said availability was reflected in her work with my lashes. 10/10 do not recommend read more
