As seen by this esthetician's response to previous review, her unprofessionalism and personally attacks on people's privacy and mocking is a clear example of her lack of respect for others. My life is not sad, Sok/Chloe/Amber - whatever your real name/identity is. I'm very happy, kind and like all of us, have struggles but any personal attacks to attempt to shame other's people's lives demonstrates your cruelty - as a human being, nevermind the services. During sessions w/ Sok/Chloe/Amber that should have been relaxing, she made constant conversation asking about my personal life as well as inquiries about my income and money savings patterns. She also exposed personal lives of other past clients, including medical professionals. This made me extremely uncomfortable and raised questions about how my own information might be handled, which is now evidenced in her unnecessary low blows to people's personal lives. My original review w/ Sok/Chloe/Amber is about her skin services and response with manipulation when asked to cease services. She did not refuse me as a client, I refused continuation of her services. Because of how serious this has become w/ attacks on me personally, I am currently looking into the appropriate channels to escalate my concerns to the BBB so this esthetian does not get away with bullying people who have used her services, thus harming their job/livelihood. Clients deserve a baseline level of a safe, respectful environment where their privacy is protected and their jobs or personal lives are never brought into conversations in a threatening or uncomfortable way for a service as simple as a facial while they are serving to help others (I'm referring to her exposure specifically during my sessions of past doctors, nurse, other medical professionals that serve our community who have used her.) This is a deeply mean-spirited person as evidenced by her treatment of past clients for daring to speak up after their experiences. Took my mom here to get some procedures done for Mother's Day. It was a bit hard to find the place because i didnt realize it was kind of hidden inside a building that holds numerous other small shops. Amber was super nice and friendly and gave us a discount as advertised. I unfortunately couldn't get the most beneficial service since it was outside of my price range and there are certain services that require multiple visits, so i just chose the nonsurgical facelift and Amber warned us ahead of time that it's not going to make a world of a difference, but my mom was able to be pampered for a bit and i want to give 5 stars for the pleasant and respectful customer service that Amber provided for my mom and me. read more

This woman doesn't have simple social communication skills. It was extremely difficult to schedule appointments. She sold me two facials for cash. However, she does not answer her phone with a weird answering service, she doesn't reply back for a month via text until I had to communicate my frustration. I have politely requested money back at the salon and she told me she won't do that, that's I am crazy and she will call police ... First, I had a package of treatment maybe cost around $150. I tipped her generously. Then, the 2nd time, I asked her to give me the same treatment when I booked through the phone. She said, "Sure." However, she didn't even remember my name and started the treatment without asking me what kind of treatment she gave me the last time. After she started to take off my makeup, she said, "You should have a peel." Well, I was a bit surprised but I said, " If you think so." Then, she added, " you have to buy a high quality gel. I had Non-Surgical Face Lift from Amber and I was little scared but she guided me thru the whole procedure and because she was medical nurse for 7years and because of that she was very knowlegable about skin care. She made sure i felt comfotable and explained every step so i was at ease the whole session. As I read all of the reviews here, all positive, was what led me to chose Amber for a skin care provider. During my visit with her she seemed knowledgeable and very friendly. My service experience was good which I got thru a Groupon offer. Upon ending my facial services Amber offered a series of services for a discounted amount which I paid $356. We scheduled a second visit. Prior to the second visit she ran into scheduling conflicts as a result of a friend being hospitalized and we re-scheduled. Once again on the second attempt she had double booked herself and had to cancel. We again moved the date. I understood and was gracious to move my schedule around. On our third attempt to get service I ran into a schedule conflict as by this point I had moved away from the area and struggled with the distance. I advised Amber that i didn't think i'd be able to "use" the services as a result of the changes that had taken place -- since she did not seem to be willing to understand or refund (her solution was that the package never expired or I could give to a friend)... well if you don't live in the area doubtful that i'll ever be able to come to San Diego 5 times to take advantage of my services nor do I have friends to gift. I disputed this with my credit card company and she denied offering a refund once again. Buyer beware!!! if you think you'll life will change at all don't get yourself committed to a package with her or you'll never be able to get a refund. I'm out of $356 of my hard earned money. Instead of being understanding and professional about this she chose to not process the refund that i requested. I am not ok with doing bad reviews but this is upsetting and I found it to be very bad business practices on her part. read more

I discovered Amber's business through Groupon (2 sessions of ultrasonic liposuction). I'm very picky when it comes to these kind of things - I want someone who has good reviews, is known for doing great work, seems trustworthy, and is someone that I feel like I will get along with. I called the work number, and after not being able to reach her through that I called her cell # which I got from her voicemail recording. All of my worries washed away after meeting Amber for the first time. The ultrasonic lipo (which she is no longer doing*) was my first experience at Dermalux. Amber is so sweet and caring! I feel very comfortable with her and we always have good conversations, which is a bonus to the great treatments she provides. Recently I had the Vitamin C Antioxidant facial.
