I have tried this place a few times now, and I just can't go back after this last time. This is a…read moreplace to go to get the most basic nails and that's it. They don't do 3D art, they've told me they literally can't do anything other than gel polish. This last time they told me they won't do art unless it's gel, and that will cost you like 30$ more on top of the 29$ for a basic manicure. My 65$ pedicure was 94$ after I added gel chrome polish. Like if you don't want to do regular polish- say GEL ONLY- so we all know! The older woman who did ny pedicure was great and all but the language barrier was brutal and she literally spent 10 mins talking to someone else to get clarification on how to do chrome nails! Like how is this place even in business if you get stuck at chrome nails. I asked for dark red as my base color but she wouldn't do it, and just used black. It's so frustrating when you are excited to treat yourself and they claim to do all this stuff just to waste your time finding out they don't. AND they take soooooo long. They also seem very ANTI-BLACK. I'm mixed and one of the girls literally never did my manicure and left when I asked if I could just do regular manicure and not gel. And then when 2 non-black women came in, they immediately did theirs, and when I asked again they acted like it was the first time I even brought it up! Another time a woman (the last time I came in) asked me to pay upfront before my nails would be done, "becuase that's their policy" while the woman next to me paid AFTER her nails were done! Like do you think I'm dumb? Come on. I'm never coming back. Just a waste of time, if you want the nails you ACTUALLY want. Don't waste your money.

I initially found this place on classPass and I liked how the tech did my nails. So I came back…read morewithout using the app. On this visit the store was empty when I walked in. Got seated right away, the tech offered the menu the have quite a bit of additional charges which usually comes with service at other nail salons. It was $28 for the basic gel service and an additional $19 I think for the color which is wild to me that they have it broken down like that. Plus another 9.99 to remove the callus. I opted for the $48 no removed Callus. I wasn't able to take a picture of the menu but this was shady and won't be coming back. The tech also tried to show me the more expensive nail colors which I declined. Just wasn't a good vibe here. Then to put the nail in the coffin "no pun intended" they did not accept a VISA CARD. They wanted me to Zelle or Venmo so I had to go next door the massage shop to get money from the atm. So inconvenient. Absolutely no reasoning of why I cannot swipe my card. Avoid we have so many options here in SD no reason why we should settle for businesses that continue to operate like this.

I always stick with Ken and its been smooth sailing ever since. I also had my nails grow soooo long with him and using just dip powder. I had a really disappointing experience at this place today. I was assigned with Crystal, and from the moment I sat down, she showed zero friendliness or basic customer service. If you work with clients, the bare minimum should be some level of kindness and professionalism. She rushed through my nails in what felt like record time, about 30 minutes and it absolutely shows in the final result. This is by far the worst manicure I've had. The work is sloppy, poorly finished, and lacks attention to even the smallest details. There's polish left on my skin, uneven edges, and overall it just looks very careless. On top of that, she was extremely rough while working on my hands. I actually had to ask her to be more gentle because it felt uncomfortable and rushed, which should never happen during a manicure. I'm honestly so upset because I have a wedding to attend today, and I feel embarrassed even looking at my nails. This was not just disappointing, it was unacceptable. It really felt like she was just trying to get through the appointment as quickly as possible, with no care for quality. I would not recommend booking with her. read more

I went here for the first time just about a month ago! Ben did my nails and he did the most incredible job! They were the best nails id ever had done. I've gotten faded French tips done before at other salons, but they never looked as perfect as these ones. I wanted a coat of sparkles so ring it was a shimmer, Ben took the time to show me multiple polishes and test them first. I also had a nail that was coming off of my finger (like my actual nail), and Ben took great care of it. He held tight to the nail bed and made sure I was feeling good through the entire process. He was social but not overbearing and I have made this my go to place to get my nails done. The day I got these nails done I even happened to get engaged! I love this salon! I'm usually not always loyal to a single spot but I've been coming here all year. I have had my nails done by a few different techs and all have been super nice and did great! Long term I have been with Crystal and she is AMAZING! I trust her to do ANYTHING! You want simple? She's got it. You want a little bit of something? She's got it. You want some charms? She's got it? You wanna try some 3D? SHES GOT IT!! Crystal has never done a nail I haven't loved! Every time I got my nails done I've been stopped and asked where and who I go to. Highly recommend. My girls and I have been going for years. Great space, You don't need an appointment but I tend to make them to guarantee a spot as they can get crowded sometimes. but do manage to accommodate everyone fairly quickly. The technicians here always know my name, are always gracious and all the service we receive is excellent. Only once did I have a less than positive experience and to this day They remember and have gone out of their way to be generous and ensure it doesn't happen again. Great service! Easy to make an appointment! This is my second time here at the recommendation of a friend and this will be my new nail spot. The nail design I wanted for shark week was done so well and everyone was so sweet. I got a free mimosa and they were thorough and took care to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I was referred here by a friend. So of course I had to check it out. I went with a friend. The ladies who helped us were awesome! They were sweet and sociable. Their work was fast, clean and accurate. As fast as they were, they were also detail-oriented and made sure things were done to our liking. I've been here for 1 time already and I'm very glad! 5 stars for this salon cuz it's very clean, all the staff here so friendly. Rather I found my favorite person, he is Ben ! He did my nails really meticulous, he want make sure everything perfect then told me but in the LED light. I got the hot stone manicure. The polish was done perfectly. My nails are beautiful! I am very rough on my nails and almost a week later, it is still looking good, best one I've ever had! While they accept walk-ins, it is better if you make a reservation. I have never had to wait. The color selection is vast. They also have dip power. I will try that next time. If you're looking to be WAXED, (legs, bikini, brazilian, etc) you MUST SEE Lynn! She was efficient, and absolutely incredible. I am someone who has had waxing done numerous times over the last five years, and I hadn't gone in close to three months this time so you know the hair grows back quite thick and it is more painful, but Lynn took the best care and I walked out of the salon smiling. This is the only salon I come to, it has a family environment, they use clean and sanitized tools, they rip open a new bag everytime which is rare! I have been traveling for weeks and my acrylic nails were in need of a fill in. Made an appointment but had to wait as they were very busy - it was worth it! I've been to other nail shops and theres no shop quite like Newme Nails in terms of gel manicures and pedicures . They also make it easy to pay using Cash, Venmo, and card. I can easily say that this is the one of the best nail salon in Mission valley. There is nowhere else I will go. The quality of work is better than salons that charge more. I have been too many nail salons in this area as well as around San Diego. and this salon is by far the best in my opinion. The salon itself is really spacious and it seems like they have a lot of nail techs working, which I really like because it never feels too cramped or chaotic. Every time I've had an appointment, they've been on time and pretty efficient with the service too. I never feel like I'm sitting around waiting forever, but at the same time, the pedicure doesn't feel rushed. I also really appreciate how consistent they are. Since I don't stick with one specific person, it says a lot that I've still been happy with my nails every time. My gel pedicures always come out clean and last really well. The builder gel was much less thick then last time, and looks much better. The salon also has easy parking, online scheduling and they offer snacks and drinks.

I took my mom as an early Mother's Day gift, so this experience was important to me. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon of getting pampered unfortunately turned into an awkward and uncomfortable situation. I called ahead to ask if they could accommodate two Gel-X manicures and three gel pedicures, and was told yes, so we headed over. Unfortunately, the service didn't meet expectations. My mom showed the manicurist a video of the design she wanted--she even replayed it multiple times--but the process felt rushed from the start. There was no typical manicure prep (no soaking, cuticle care, or massage), just immediate cutting, filing, and application of tips. When the nails were finished, my mom wasn't happy with the design. She didn't ask to start over--just if it could be adjusted or enhanced. The technician responded with attitude, saying she didn't understand what was wanted, despite having seen the reference multiple times. She quickly removed part of the design, made minor changes, and moved on. It became clear the technician had another client waiting and rushed through my mom's service. For a $200 manicure, that's disappointing--especially when the result isn't something the client is happy with. While the pedicure was fine, the overall experience fell short. My mom ended up going to another salon the next day and paying again to have her nails fixed. I work in the service industry myself, so I understand that not every client interaction is easy--but I was always taught to make it right when a guest isn't happy. From a customer service standpoint, this was a big letdown. We weren't difficult or demanding--she simply didn't like the design and wanted help improving it. Next time, if you don't have the time to properly provide a service, don't accept the appointment. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I could come in with the most beat up nails (I pick at them when stressed) and Sophia will literally build them back together. These ladies are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable! I pay $110 for a french pedicure. While the price is higher than other salons, the quality is incomparable. Even though it's not recommended, pedicures here last 5+ weeks. You definitely get what you pay for plus the snacks and drinks they offer. Like other reviews state, the technicians here are attentive, kind, and understanding. I haven't had a bad experience at this salon!

This review is long overdue!…read more I've been going to Twinkle Nails for over a year now, and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. I always book with Thi, and she is absolutely fantastic. No matter what design, color combination, or random inspiration photo I bring her, she executes it flawlessly every single time. I've attached a few photos of some of the sets she's done for me over the past year because her work really speaks for itself. One thing that always impresses me is how healthy my natural nails have stayed. These are my real nails, and I only get gel manicures, so I can't personally speak to acrylics or some of the other nail services they offer. What I can say is that my nails consistently look amazing, last well, and receive compliments all the time. I've also had pedicures here and they've always done a great job. I don't have one specific technician I regularly see for those, but I've never had a bad experience

The staff is pretty friendly and they work quickly. My first time, the nail artist didn't ask what shape/length I wanted, she just cut them short and square. I kept this in mind for next time and made sure to state what I wanted up front. They do a good job here and I would recommend!
