Although I was not a presenter, I saw that there were presenters from China, Korea, India, many African countries, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai. The food and snacks of course were wonderful and the host (president Dr. Raj Singh) is one of the most gracious people you'll ever meet. He made sure everybody had whatever they needed during the presentation and made sure every's needs were taken care of. Luckily I was not from out of town but I know he help arrange some great deals on hotels for all the presenters and I think helped arrange entertainment for them too. If you have a paper or work you'd like to present, send it in to the University. I know they hosts conferences on many different topics. If you're work is accepted then be prepared to have a great time presenting and making friends with colleagues from around the world!

This is a warning for any future students considering enrollment. I am enrolled in their DMS…read moreprogram and am having the worst experience. They are extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My cohort was not informed about the new semester start date, the class days, or whether classes would be online, hybrid, or in person. Nothing. We are a few days into the 3rd semester, received the schedule the day of. If I had not woken up early on Monday to log in to Moodle, I would have missed the first day of class, since they did not inform us of anything. I sent emails to Heather Benevento (Director of Admissions) and Tammy Latu (Executive Director) with no reply. It took me sending a follow-up email for Heather to reply and say that I would hear back by the end of the day from either of them. Of course, to no surprise, I did not receive an email. Whenever I call the campus, my calls go unanswered. I leave messages, and they are not returned. They use the excuse that it's a new campus and ask us to give them some grace, but if you are late on a tuition payment, late to class, or miss a day, they will make sure you face the consequences ASAP. Turns out the schedule we were given for the semester is not even accurate. Our professor had to inform us today that our lab day is canceled because the school doesn't have the supplies (shocker!). And now we will have lab on a day we were told there was no class. What about those of us who have jobs? Doctor's appointments? Job interviews? This school expects you to form your life around them and only cares about getting their money and nothing else.

The friendly and helpful individuals strolling around campus, the students socializing, engaging, and beaming with joy, all contribute to a campus culture that resonates deeply with our family values. Having had the privilege of traveling back and fourth to CLU for the past 11 years watching CM achieve his Bachelor's and a Master's, and AM having earned his BA with a masters in cyber security and is about to achive a second Master's degree, the prospect of looking for a new university for them to pursue a PhD is daunting; because we are all involved so deeply at Cal Lutheran. For the most part, all the information you can ever need to get through a basic associate's degree and transfer is available online on their website. Not sure why everyone is hellbent on meeting with people to go over a basic ed plan, AI will do it for you and better. I really don't understand all the negative reviews; people actually point out their faults and shortcomings in the navigating process but somehow its somebody else's fault. "I had good grades, but I turned in some work late and got a fail" really, take some responsibility. Sure, I can understand that its overwhelming at times, and downright frustrating to not get answers right when we want them. But you have to understand the scope of this type of institution. Every year its the same, predictable even. Yet most complaints are just gripes about how their experience was "tough" because nobody helped them personally, welcome to the real world. You look out for yourself. You will have to be the squeaky wheel to get the grease. Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to rattle some cages. Afterall the people who work at RCC are just people, forget attitudes and personal feelings towards the staff. Remember you're there for a personal goal and that should be your focus. If one counselor is not helpful go to another one. If you don't like the way your degree is shaping out, change it. Don't be a complainer who does nothing about it. RCC is great, really people don't hesitate to ask your professors questions, they are for the most part really down to earth people trying to make a difference. I passed all the assignments but I was late turning in the lab work and received two fails as my final grade. Even though I passed 95% of the work with better than 80% scores. That's my complaint.
