Nursing school is not easy, I didn't expect to go into it without a full commitment or the mental preparation that it will be hard. I basically let go of any idea of a social life, had to significantly cut down on my expenses, and it was still a struggle. I worked with Lesley as my admissions/Recruiting Rep and enrollment was an a smooth process for me, she provided me with all the information I needed including the hours I would have to dedicate and set aside for classes so I knew full well what I was getting into. The Director of the non core classes was on campus very helpful to me when I had questions. The Anatomy and Physiology instructor Mr. Ali was the best! I mean just the most wonderful instructor to lay the groundwork needed for core classes. He made the course work fun. The instructors gave us the tools and resources and it was our job to utilize them. We had to put in the work and time consistently and I tried to fight every urge to procrastinate and put it aside. I failed sometimes time I didnt and passed the times that I did. Our the director Ms. Rayna was an awesome resource, always available, always looking for ways to help us learn, grasp the information and be prepared to practice safely after graduation. She was incredibly supportive and that's pretty rare compared to other schools I have attended. The instructor were the best, our campus was so lucky, I'm not sure if they are still around but Dr. Mahdi was our fundamentals, pharmacology and mental health instructor and I have always said every nursing student needs Dr. Mahdi to shape them into responsible nurses. She had a very hard expectations just as families for those we serve will have high expectations. Her way instructions helped me seriously grasp the concepts early on that were on the NCLEX exam. Kristin taught us Maternal, Peds and Leadership, she really carried us through. She is so inspirational in how much she loves her job and her patients. She drilled into us the importance in our role as educators. She is the reason I decided I wanted to work in women's health. She is honestly the greatest. Ms. Amie, Ms. kim, Dr. Joseph, Rochelle were also great instructors, inspirational in how they showed us the different fields of nursing are available to us. Available as support in and out of the classroom and just the best mentors to have guiding us. Ms. kim I would say probably made the biggest impact in my nursing trainings in terms of how she taught me to learn the concepts, write my notes, memory recall, and pass medsurg. It wasn't perfect, there were some very bumpy roads but looking back I would definitely choose Stanbridge again. Just had the greatest people to introduce me to the nursing profession in the safest way possible. Thanks to that I passed my Exit, NCLEX and got my license all in one month. So A+ for efficiency

For the most part, all the information you can ever need to get through a basic associate's degree and transfer is available online on their website. Not sure why everyone is hellbent on meeting with people to go over a basic ed plan, AI will do it for you and better. I really don't understand all the negative reviews; people actually point out their faults and shortcomings in the navigating process but somehow its somebody else's fault. "I had good grades, but I turned in some work late and got a fail" really, take some responsibility. Sure, I can understand that its overwhelming at times, and downright frustrating to not get answers right when we want them. But you have to understand the scope of this type of institution. Every year its the same, predictable even. Yet most complaints are just gripes about how their experience was "tough" because nobody helped them personally, welcome to the real world. You look out for yourself. You will have to be the squeaky wheel to get the grease. Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to rattle some cages. Afterall the people who work at RCC are just people, forget attitudes and personal feelings towards the staff. Remember you're there for a personal goal and that should be your focus. If one counselor is not helpful go to another one. If you don't like the way your degree is shaping out, change it. Don't be a complainer who does nothing about it. RCC is great, really people don't hesitate to ask your professors questions, they are for the most part really down to earth people trying to make a difference. Anytime I asked questions, her responses were short, rude, and delivered with an attitude that made me feel like I was bothering her for simply trying to understand my own education plan. Her incompetence and lack of professionalism are the driving factors in my decision to leave this program. As a veteran, I worked hard to earn my benefits. Worked there for a year and then got a position for the county. I believe that my experience here helped me to have a foot in the door with each of these places, so when this is you I highly recommend showing them they need you. Always ask to help and never be afraid to try something new and NEVER tell them no (within reason). Also treat others kindly and offer to help outside your scope of work, I helped receptionists and kennel attendants all the time. I was even the Sunday person who took care of the entire hospital when staff was gone (to include power washing the external areas and sweeping/mopping). Be empathetic. These patients don't have a voice, you need to be that for them. I will also say that no matter what you think of the shelter, put those ideas aside. It was the best place I've worked, they do everything they possibly can to help those in need and get every animal into a home. This is just an update for students in the program. Work hard, don't engage in drama, soon this phase of life will pass and you'll be in your career field. If anyone has any questions please let me know.

When going into this school you have to take a basic math test, but you have to call in before you take the test and they only allow 4 students a day to take the test, 2 in the evening and 2 in the morning for the day. Then you have to write an essay and Mark encouraged me to write a sob story to encourage the higher ups to choose me to attend the school, which was strange. I got a text asking if I want to go to the school and after looking at A reading the school is a 2.4 star Yelp, and a lot of the reviews are really bad. I declined the offer via text and I thought that was done and that was a month ago. Today I got a call from Mark asking if I made a decision on which school I was going to which I felt odd and I already responded and declined attend attending Platt, I let him know that I wasn't interested due to the school having really low ratings and that I found the testing system of only 11 for students a day and inconvenience. Mark then started to rebuttal with me, I then try to get off the phone, but before I could say, thank you for the offer he hung up on me. All of the reviews are about staff behavior and I got first hand on how the staff treat students. AVOID THIS SCHOOL!

Let me start off by advising anyone considering the 5 week course to not underestimate the challenge. The EMT scope of practice may not seem very large, but the amount of knowledge you need to learn is vast. The course requires a 1500+ page textbook and you WILL need to learn the entirety of that book in the four weeks of lecture you have at your disposal. It's tough. Our class of nearly 50 had less than 20 graduates. You need to have a good work ethic, pay attention in class, and quite frankly being a good test taker will take you far. With all this being said, our instructor Crystal did a phenomenal job and prepared us better than I believe anyone else could have with the amount of material we needed to learn in the amount of time we needed to learn it. Combining a wealth of real world experience with an extremely impressive/comprehensive knowledge of all things EMS/Anatomy/Physiology Crystal did an exemplary job of teaching us what we needed to learn and preparing us for the NREMT after. I am grateful for the instruction I received and the experience as a whole.

Michelle was candid and serious about the course, characteristics that are ABSOLUTELY necessary in the medical field. If you are coming into this thinking it'll be a breeze, YOU ARE WRONG. She was an amazing instructor who gives memorization tips and realistic scenarios that require this knowledge. Lock in and read the dang textbook. Just read it, front to back. They literally make questions copy and pasted from the book, so having it in your memory, even if you skimmed through it, will help you. Lecture slides are a rvw for you after reading the chapters; do not rely on them. And please, don't clown around. You will make amazing friends and meet great people, so don't ruin the environment by clowning around and upsetting the instructors. 80% is required in the class to even SIT for the final, so take those exams srsly and memorize the terms and procedures.
