Very late review but I did my lasik in 2014. I had -6.5 in my left eye and -6 in my right eye. I've had glasses/contacts since I was a child. This was a great experience. Doctor was very passionate and it was easier than I thought. I was told it would take 1.5 hours. First 45 min is really just checkin and taking some pill to calm my nerves. Actual operation was a like a few min per eye just to do setup. The only scary part was that when you do the surgery you don't see anything for like 7 seconds. Recovery was easy. I did the surgery in the late afternoon. I went on a booze cruise the next day. Had sunglasses of course but it was pretty awesome. Now it's 2026 and finally now that I'm older I am starting to get some vision issues in my left eye which is my problem eye. read more

It's been over 12 years since I had LASIK. I probably had 20/20 vision with no other side effects (except the halos, which went away after 1 1/2 half years) for 6 years total. Then, approximately when I turned 35, I couldn't seen as well. This was confirmed by an optometrist during an appointment. So, I'm back to wearing contacts and glasses. I have decided not to get LASIK again because LASIK reduces your eye moistness. My eyes used to be super moist before LASIK. Now, they're just "average" in moisture. I don't want to risk another surgery and also encourage other possible complications. It was nice having clear vision while it lasted. I just wished it lasted more than 6 years, but I'm very grateful to have not had any complications and since I've spent more time using glasses/contacts longer than having perfect vision with LASIK, it's like slipping into an old shoe that you've worn many times before. read more

12 years later in 2021, I came back for a consultation with Dr. Lee. Since I previously had LASIK done in 2019 by Dr. Lee, I qualified for PRK surgery this time around due to risk with thinning cornea. My eyes got bad after LASIK because the procedure was done prior to having stabilized vision, so I would recommend LASIK to people over the age of 25 or until your doctor confirms that you have stable vision. The surgery took place at the Artesia location during the weekend. It was a long wait, I got there in the morning and the surgery was not performed until around 3-4 p.m. The place was packed and it seemed like most people there went there for surgery. The PRK surgery was fast and similar to LASIK. Dr. Lee clamps your eyes open, then apply a few drops to numb your eyes. Once numbed, Dr. Lee uses a tool to scrape the top layer of your cornea before reshaping it with the cornea with laser. This is different from LASIK because it does not require cutting your cornea into a flap before reshaping. After 10 minutes, you are done and sent home with a care package with shades, drops, and Rx. Aftermath: PRK recovery is so painful and recovery time is longer than LASIK. I initially had blurry vision after surgery which gradually improved within a week, then 20/20 by the end of the month. You will have monthly vision check-in with Dr. Lee for one year. Despite the couple days of pain after surgery, I still recommend PRK because it beats putting on contacts and glasses everyday. It is a good choice if you are not a candidate for LASIK and if you are into contact sports since your cornea grows back and there are no flap incision involved with the procedure. It's been 5 years since I've gotten Lasik and I'm saddened that I recently went to an optometrist for an exam to check on my overall eye health. I've had discomfort since my surgery and have dry eyes. My eyes are very sensitive and burns when my skin gets oily around my eye area. I have starburst and halo when I drive at night and my vision gets blurry in low lighting. Overall, I don't regret getting my surgery because my vision is so much better now than it was before but I'm back to -1:00 prescription. I was hoping it would last more than 5 years.. I've already got my enhancement surgery so I can't get Lasik again so I may have to get PRK in the future if I'm a candidate. read more

In fact, the Optician did not believe me when I told her I had had Lasik - she said there were no visible scars and no evidence of any drying. Dr. Lee! First and foremost, let me start by saying I have been nearly blind most of my life. I started wearing glasses in the 3rd grade, started wearing contacts at the end of the fifth grade because my vision had gotten so bad that the thickness of my glasses was an added reason for my bullying, and I continued to wear contacts allllllll the way up until December 2016 when I stumbled into Dr. Lee's office. For anyone who is leery about Lasik, this is absolutely the place you want to be. In December of 2016, my grandfather insisted we go visit Dr. Lee because he was adamant that his "granddaughter could not be an RN who couldn't see without contacts" and insisted after meticulous research that Dr. Lee was the best man for the job as he is more experienced than likely anyone in LA. We had plans to have the consultation and surgery done same day, and that's exactly what we did. The Lasik procedure was quick, likely not even 5 mins per eye, and the recovery was actually painless. Shortly after, I noticed the halos, which is a common and expected side effect though not bad enough to take away from my vision which was better than 20/20 the very next day. About a year later, the halos were bad enough that I needed driving glasses at night. No prescription on them, though. Just needed them for anti-glare to help me see better with the halos. A few more years passed and the vision got worse whenever I drove at night or even when watching movies in theaters especially, so I figured maybe my vision was beginning to fail me. By 2021, I finally decided that enough was enough. I was having trouble seeing at work, and in the setting of COVID, I never figured out a way to wear my mask at work without it fogging up my glasses. I went to an optometrist and tried contacts again, which was unsuccessful as my eyes basically rejected them and so I decided to go for another consultation for a possible revision. In December of 2022, I scheduled a consultation where I met Berniece to discuss my options. After Dr. Lee had reviewed my measurements and history, he decided I would benefit best from PRK instead of Lasik. I proceeded to have the PRK procedure done in January of 2023, and I'll be honest, the recovery process is a lot more brutal than what I had experienced with Lasik. Mostly just burning, light sensitivity, and intense tearing whenever I opened my eyes... But only for the first day or two after the procedure. So far, it has been three months since my PRK procedure and I am seeing more clearly than ever -- even better than with the initial Lasik procedure. My halos have resolved, I had some issues with dryness (which is common) but resolved this easily with some preservative-free gel drops 2-3x/day... Not to mention my vision is, again, better than 20/20. If you've struggled with contacts and glasses as much as I have, you'll deeply value the gift of sight separate of anything cumbersome. Bottom line -- I regret nothing, and would recommend Dr. Lee and his team to anyone considering. read more

Very poor service. They don't have anyone at the front desk so ended up waiting for so long and had to walk into the doctors consultation area past the front desk to ask for someone to come to the front. I went in twice for a Lasik consultations and then for a follow up. The first one went fine and then a woman called me to tell me about my results from the first consultation. She asked me to come into the office to hear about my eligibility results. When I came in, the same woman asked me why I was here and what brought me in. Showed up on time for my consultation appointment and sat in the "waiting room" for 35 minutes before I called the office to make sure I was in the right place. One of Dr. Lee's medical assistants saw me but never acknowledged me that I was apparently waiting in the wrong room. (Thanks for absolutely nothing). So after 45 minutes of waiting I was finally serviced and their excuse was that they're understaffed (REALLY bad sign) and that it was my fault I did not read their "please come inside" paper. I will gladly find another lasik center that is well staffed and acknowledges their patients! Only checked out this place because it's right down the street for me, but I would rather drive to get good, safe service for something as serious as lasik eye surgery. read more

Lasik Eye Center - Optometrists Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I did my consultation in Feb 2020 and scheduled my appointment for Mar 2020. Due to Covid, my appointment got moved to May 2020. My consultation experience was okay. A staff member got my eyes checked and then I met with the doctor to go over any questions/concerns I had. I did a couple of consultations and I decided to go with this place was because the doctor seemed very honest and he's been in the practice for many years. I was quoted $3000 (cash)/$3100 (credit card) for lasik surgery for both eyes. I signed up for a new credit card to take advantage of the spending bonus. I was also eligible for a reimbursement from my insurance for lasik surgery which brought down my cost. Surgery day I arrived to my appointment on time and had to fill out some forms. After completing the forms, I had to wait about 30-45 minutes for them to call me to start the surgery. I tied my hair together and was given a hair mask to wear. I lied down on the chair and the doctor taped my head down to the chair with packing tape. The surgery altogether took about 5 minutes. I didn't feel any pain but it was uncomfortable. After surgery I was scheduled for follow up appointments for the next day. You'll also have follow up appointments after a week, month, 3 month, 6 month, and a year. Do not expect your follow up appointments to be quick. You'll be waiting awhile in the lobby then maybe 20-30mins AFTER your appointment time, you'll be called in. The doctor talks a lot about things unrelated to your eye/surgery so be ready to be inside listening. This happens at 90% of my follow up appointments. Touch up surgery During my follow up appointments, I noticed my right eye's vision going bad. I asked for a touch up to be scheduled in December 2020. With the holidays and everything going on, it was hard to get an appointment with my schedule. I finally got one and I was looking forward to it however, there were a lot of unnecessary complications with getting my medication for the touch up. I asked for the office to send my medication prescription to the pharmacy they used for my original surgery (they chose the pharmacy, not me, so I'd expect them to have the pharmacy information on hand). I've also been calling the pharmacy to check if my medication was ready. Weeks go by and I still have received a call. Soon, it's the week of my surgery and still no medication. Without the medication, I can't do the touch up and I'd have to reschedule. I called Lasik Eye Center everyday for a week prior to my scheduled appointment and each day, someone would answer and said they would "give me a call back" to help me on my inquiry. I was so annoyed and pissed that I had to put in this much work and time to get a simple prescription. They eventually sent my prescription TWO DAYS prior to my scheduled touch up appointment. My medication was ready THE DAY OF my appointment. Mind you, the pharmacy was in Beverly Hills so I'd have to drive to Beverly Hills from LA and then back to the office in ktown. This was so frustrating and annoying. They did compensate the medication issue with some blue light glasses but it was cheap glasses that already had scratches when I received them. I asked for a replacement of them but the staff member said "they all come like that" lol. All in all, if you value your time, DON'T COME HERE. I'm definitely getting the service I paid for. I'd definitely look elsewhere for lasik eye surgery because the staff here do not respect your time. Surgery was great and fast but I wasted so much of my time waiting in the lobby. Fun fact: I was able to write this entire review while waiting in the lobby for my follow up appointment lmao... Free parking in the back behind the building. I went to the buena park office for the eye test. After several tests, a korean lady who looks like doctor, came to the office and showed me the computer screen and explained with the results. She said that she has never seen the worst case like my eyes. She said i need to treat my eyes as soon as possible because i have a glaucoma. But my insurance plan was out of network. I had to find the doctor in the same network of my insurance. I went through the same procedure and tests in the different doctor in the same network. The doctor said you have no glaucoma in both eyes. I couldn't believe it. So, i went to the other third doctor. That doctor also said the same thing, no glaucoma. The previous lady doctor either lied to me or mis examined. I couldn't believe it. The lady Doctor was wrong. It was so ridiculous. Is she really a doctor? I am still doubting about her. read more

Two years later my vision still isn't great. Went in with -5.75 in both eyes, came out with astigmatism in both eyes, -.25 in the left eye with an off center cornea, and various corneal aberrations. Ive spent thousands of dollars on different types of contacts (gas permeable lenses and scleral) with varying results, no perfect solution yet. My vision is always a little blurry, especially in anything less than bright sunlight. Dr Lee was initially dismissive and slightly offended about my concerns, saying my vision was perfect and I was being picky. Eventually he did seem sorry and helped pay for 1000 dollars of the 3000 dollar doctor visit to get fitted for scleral contacts. During that process that they had to scan the topography of my eyes and that's when I could see the exact distortion of my post-lasik corneas. I signed all the papers , I knew the risks. It sucks to be one of the people that this didn't work out for. It's honestly embarrassing and I feel like maybe I should have gone somewhere else? I have big pupils and I think that's one of the issues. Other doctors since the surgery have told me so. I even brought this up to Dr Lee before the surgery and he assured me "I don't think you have big pupils." And that was enough to make me feel okay about proceeding. All this being said, he was mostly very nice, I think it was just some unlucky variables. I try not to regret it, I was only trying to improve my life a little. I just wish there was a way to fix my vision. Hopefully the future of this surgery improves on it's shortcomings. If you are a person with a higher prescription like me, I'd probably get multiple opinions, and maybe just stick with contacts. read more

Updating my review after having lasik for two years. This could just be me personally, but I am writing it here in case it's common to others. After about two years I noticed my vision was definitely declining. Got my eyes checked and now need to wear glasses. It's still better than before though since I don't HAVE to wear glasses 24/7. Things are just a little blurry without, but because my eyes are dry I don't want to wear contacts again full time. The one thing I noticed after getting lasik is that I'm extremely sensitive to light now. My vision is the worst at night or in dimly lit rooms. Even when i wear sunglasses I noticed i can't see as well. However, if it's too bright I get nauseous. And when there is a small light on at night (night light or power button from a device), I can't sleep! A little bummed to have spent a few thousand for only two years of good vision :( read more

Part II: Surgery I had my Lasik Eye Surgery with Dr. Lee and just had my 3 Month Post Surgery appointment. Surgery was a success, and while it was not the most comfortable experience (especially the day of), nothing happened that was unexpected. I had my wife drive me home because it is hard to see right after the surgery. After 3 months, my vision is now 20/20 and I absolutely love it. After wearing glasses and contact lenses since elementary school it is just about as close to a miracle now that I don't have to do anything to see. I am very pleased with Dr Lee's surgery, and his staff for having great customer service! If you are thinking about Lasik, I highly recommend Dr Lee and the Lasik Eye Center. read more

If you would prefer a more handheld experience, I'd highly recommend you go somewhere else. You can read all about the actual Lasik experience from other reviews, but these were just some of the issues that I personally faced. Take it from someone who has now had 3 Lasik surgeries with Dr.Lee in the past 2 years, and I'm still having dry eye issues. Original prescription ~ -6.00 with astigmatism Cons: - Difficulty with appointments. They crank out surgeries and check-ups here like a factory. The waits are long (30+ min with appt), and I've had my appointments changed from the Artesia location to Ktown LA the day before multiple times. - My eyes regressed within a year about ~1.00 and I had to do an enhancement. I went in for my surgery and he did only one eye before telling me to come back another day to do the other. Apparently, I'm very difficult to work on, even though I have no history of anxiety? He made me feel terrible. Of course there were no available appointments for a whole month. I was seeing clear in one eye and extremely blurry in the other for a month. Cue headaches. - Almost 2 years post op, I still have major dry eye issues, which I'm afraid are chronic now, causing me to have blurry vision. Pros: - Price for surgeries here are half the cost of most western offices. - Medical assistants and other doctors who assist with check-ups are super sweet and professional. Been a while, eh? I'm now a member of AARP (obviously) but I do have 20/20 vision. My ophthalmologist even commented on how nicely the surgery was done. I don't know what that means but i assume in his line of work he sees it go both ways. For a professional its probably rather obvious. Like a bad boob job, can spot them a block away. TLDR: 1. If you think Black Lives Matter don't give this place your business. 2. Dr. Joseph Lee doesn't wear his mask during his back-to-back consultations in a small enclosed room. When I started my consultation with Dr. Joseph Lee, I was surprised to see he had his mask strapped fully below his chin. We were in a small, enclosed space with less than 6 feet in distance of where he had me sit down. I was weary of asking him to put his mask on but I wish I had done so considering he has multiple back-to-back consultations in the same space with no sign of sanitation in between sessions (he called for me immediately after the clients before me). We started small talk about my social work degree and he mentioned how he's heard of police abolition and thinks it's the most ridiculous thing. He went on to talk about how "loved" the current police system as it is. In short, he believes police brutality to be a myth because he (a smaller built Asian man) has had only pleasant experiences with the police here in LA. Well duh-- us Koreans are at way less risk of racial profiling from the police than our Black counterparts! Anyways, there's a lot that came up in this conversation but if I were to mark the "highlights": - "All lives matter" - "If they (meaning Black people) didn't run, they wouldn't have been shot." As if running away is means to murder ..? - "Blacks commit more crime" - "Floyd was involved in a crime-- something with drugs/robbery" If you're reading this Dr. Lee, please get your facts right before you start speaking (he literally admitted he didn't know much about Floyd's case). A convenience store called the cops on Floyd because they thought he used a counterfeit $20-- to which has not even been brought up in the investigation process. Why? Probably because it wasn't even counterfeit. Probably because there was a much larger crime at hand-- murder. My family members had been loyal to this doctor but I'm so glad I got to have this conversation with him because I know not to support a business with such racist, anti-black values. I would give zero stars if I could. The "surgeon" here (Dr. Joseph Lee) cares more about money than the actual patient. After several consults, we settled on a price that was reasonable for the surgery. All the sudden on the final consult before scheduling the surgery, the surgeon complains that the price is too low for the amount of work he needs to do on my eye and that he would have to make incisions on my eyelids (causes scarring and is extremely painful). He has never made that comment before until now. Apparently it will make the work "easier" for him for how much it will cost and that other lasik doctors would do the same. I went and consulted with two other surgeons (most likely more reputable than him) and mentioned that. None of them said they would need to do that for my eye. Dr. Lee here is a liar! He acts like he is the only eye surgeon who performs lasik around here and criticizes others. He states he does not care about money but has the nerve to tell me that the amount he would be getting from me is all the sudden too cheap. He also says he is a humble guy but during every single consult he spends the entire time talking about himself. This guy even admitted he "experiments" without our consent. He told me the story of how he placed alcohol in the eyes of one of his clients because she developed an infection. He said it's not fda approved but did it anyways. I don't know about you, but I personally don't want to be an experiment to anyone. Avoid this doctor at all costs. Very dangerous doctor. Stay away if you are thinking of doing Lasik here. This doctor will leech off of your money and keep going after it. To him, his patients are just cash cow, where only his bank account matters, not his patients. If you ever doubt if the surgery went wrong, which, will happen, he will change his attitude and start his rampage. My family member's surgery failed, and his excuse is, "it happens". There is no sympathy or solution. If he fails your surgery, then that's it. **** happens, according to him. The process was easy enough, and there are a lot of time slots to have your appointments and the procedure times are very convenient. I have been to two other eye centers, and this was half the price. The only reason for 3 stars is Dr. Lee's professionalism. I got my procedure done in January 2020, during peak COVID times and I had to ask Dr. Lee to wear his mask multiple times. During my consultation with him, he went on and on about how covid is a conspiracy and he talked extensively about the "documents" he was sending to Dr. Anthony Fauci to cure covid. I was visibly uncomfortable. As a healthcare worker myself, I did not ask for this or appreciate it. I think he's an absolute whack job, but whatever. You get what you pay for. He did perfectly fine for my eye lasik surgery, i introduced to my boyfriend as well, but surgery went wrong and my boyfriend got pain so much and couldn't see well for long time!!!!!!!!!! Lasik is an eye changing (no pun intended ;)) experience, so before getting it done, I went to several consultations before choosing Dr. Lee. Scheduling an appointment here was easy here, and the staff was friendly. They also have several locations, which makes this place a great option. After talking to Dr. Lee, I was able to easily make my choice of choosing him as the Lasik surgeon/Lasik center I was going to receive surgery at. The whole Lasik procedure was simple. It did not hurt at all, and Dr. Lee is a calm doctor who made the process easy. They have a next day, next week checkup until the vision is stabilized. I came in with the worst vision to be qualified to have Lasik performed, but feel that I have come to the right place for the surgery to be done. read more

I went in for a consultation some time last year and Dr. Lee did the routine checks and such. I didn't get LASIK procedure done but I have a lot to thank him for. On his check, he saw an anomaly with my right eye and told me that he will not do the procedure on me until I have it checked with my primary care and also imaging done. Fast forward a year (due to delays with coronavirus), I did get it checked and did get a CT scan done. Apparently, there is a soft tissue growing behind my eye and my primary has scheduled a followup MRI to be done. If it wasn't for Dr. Lee and his refusal to do the procedure as a precautionary measure, I wouldn't have gotten it checked. To me atleast, all the reviews here talking about money and all that is bullshit. He refused to take money from me knowing that LASIK wouldn't work on me if there is something wrong. If everything goes well with and I still can get my LASIK, I will go to Dr. Lee as I owe him that much. read more

TLDR; I highly recommend this place. I have wack vision before, and it's improved SIGNIFICANTLY. Almost perfect vision. My experience with Dr. Lee was amazing! This place was recommended by my cousin who got Lasik about 5-6 years ago. I came in for a consultation at his Buena Park location back in July 2020. In total, I took about 1 hour during my consultation which included 3-4 testing and 5-10 minute conversation with Dr. Lee at the end. When I was speaking to Dr. Lee, he told me that I have astigmatism (which I am aware of from a young age) and recommended me to do my astigmatism eye first. He also said that the Lasik would only improve my eye by 30%. I wasn't too happy about this estimated outcome, but I did end up doing the Lasik. I went to get my Lasik done yesterday (9/12) at noon at the LA location. It took about 2 hours in total to do paperwork, testing, and the procedure. The staff (Kai and Dexter) was super sweet. They answered all of my questions and made sure I felt comfortable. The procedure itself took like 2-3 minutes. SUPER FAST. After everything was done, I gave it like 20-30 minutes and my eye was in pain. About 6.5-7/10 pain level. But, the center also gave me meds to knock out. I went home and got some sleep for 5 hours. Then woke up without any pain. I went back to the Buena Park location today (9/13) for a check-up. I did an eye test and my vision SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED. I did the eye test for my astigmatism eye and could see at 25. The standard normal vision would be at 20. THIS IS CRAZY TO ME. I was super blind before and would need the font to be hella big! My astigmatism eye is better than my other eye, even though my other eye didn't really have a problem before. The other eye was at 40 for the test. I was talking to the staff (kai) about the significant increase in vision. She said that Dr. Lee will tend to underpromise than overpromise results. Every staffs are so kind except Dr.Kim??( the korean lady with short hair). She was so unprofessional and rude to me. She is so greedy. She only cares about the patient who pays more money I guess. She has anger management problem. I was trying to ask her about my eye conditions but she did not want to explain well.. I was just here for the regular check up but she seems like doesn't want to do her job and let me research and study my own problem lol. I was so disappointed. I also feel very bad for her coworkers because every staffs are so nice.. So horrible experience with Dr. Kim!!!....I hope she does her job with more kindness. read more

Best damn prices but it's not even about that because yours eyes are important right? Well, what if I told you that this surgeon has done well over 75,000 lasik surgeries! I'm at my 3 month post op and I see better than 20/20... I think better than 20/15 or something.... Dr. Lee know what he is doing! I promise you (obviously do your own research because my outcome might be different than yours). I was referred to Dr. Lee by a friend that had it done with Dr. Lee over 13 years ago and she still sees 20/20. After my experience, I refer all my friends and family to Dr. Lee! I know for sure a friend of mine went and got his eye done too! My friend was very happy with Dr. Lee because Dr. Lee provided my friend the honest truth about his eyes and even recommended doing just one eye for now (my friend has or had a special eye condition)... Only downfall is that given how good he is and well priced Dr. Lee is, there can be some serious wait time. YOU MUST HACE PATIENCE!!!!! Trust me! The Eye procedure itself is a breeze! I know people complain about small eyes and anxiety when he straps your eyes open, but I didn't really have any issues whatsoever. I forget how long the surgery takes but it's very quick and Dr. Lee tells you what he is doing as he's doing it... he actually makes you feel really comfortable. My only complaint is that I wish I had the procedure done a while ago! Staff is great too... doctors are awesome! You won't be disappointed! read more

Got my eye surgery this morning and it have been 6 hours, got sleep as suggest to prevent eye blinking. I can see clearly. I was going to have bday dinner tomorrow, but I feel great, will go out tonight For bday dinner with new vision, lol. I felt Dr. Lee was a perfectionist :) and really cared for his patient. The staff was great and friendly. Talked with staff before surgery helped my anxiety. Everyone was friendly and answered all my question. Thanks you again Dr. Lee and staff!!! Slow and totally unapologetic for it. Front and back office staff are totally professional. A+ for how they handle the patients... the Guy that gives the post op instructions is amazing, as an RN I had to give him mad props for being absolutely thorough with his instructions to a T. I wish I got his name, but he's the one on the dress shirt and cute. The Doctor is professional but omg the wait. I'm now sitting here 1 1/2 hours past my surgery time... again. He was 2 1/2 hours late for my original surgery and now he's touching up my right eye and no surprise... I'm just sitting and sitting and sitting. Waiting room is empty and I'm just like whatever. I complained the first time and the Dr told me "I charge cheap prices Bc you wait for me" verbatim. I get the concept, he lines up his patients and fires us off assembly line style but it's like, why even give an appointment time? Lol just have us arrive en masses and duke it out gladiator style for what time we get our surgery... it makes it more entertaining. Honestly... I paid $2200 to get my eyes done. I would have rather paid more Bc my time is worth more than the combined hours waiting. I'm sorry but it's true. If you need your eyes done for cheap and don't mind waiting and your time waiting is worth it, fine... but honestly for me my time is worth more than the time waiting in a waiting room. It's def a game changer to get your eyes done! My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner!!! Recovery is so fast, procedure is super quick, follow up appts are quick, recovery time is quick! Price is reasonable! The only thing is I paid $50 for my blue light glasses and because of the pandemic I have not received it. I will call to ask if I can get a refund. read more

Dr. Lee rejected my brother and my mom so when I went in I was confident if it wasn't a good option for me he would tell me - he isn't just out for money - he wants your vision to be perfect so if it's not he won't do it - exactly what I want for this kind of procedure. I had my Lasik procedure between Christmas and New Years and I'm really happy with the results - still a little strain at times but my vision keeps improving. The staff and Dr. Lee are so nice to deal with, the price is pretty low compared to other people, and the post op care is excellent. I would suggest getting polarized night driving glasses to wear after surgery - it makes night driving a lot easier, although I only needed them for about 2 weeks and use them now if I'm really tired. The surgery itself went fast - not a fun experience, and then after my eyes hurt a lot for about 6 hours, then it felt fine. The most challenging part for me was no eye makeup for a month - it's not worth the risk of infection to get in the way of healing but I felt naked! I would highly recommend Dr. Lee (and his whole office) - it's really a great experience each visit! read more

I was blind and now I see!!! I've worn glasses since 3rd-4th grade and been through hard and soft contacts and countless different glasses/ frames and eye exams for years and now no more! I called and made an appointment for a free consultation. They had to check my vision and the cornea thickness to see if I was a good candidate for the procedure.... and I was! The staff were very professional and informative with the procedures and take you through the steps before and after the surgery. The pricing and paperwork are given to you afterwards and you can decide if you would like to continue the surgery. On the day of the surgery, the wait time is a bit long, but whenever you go to any doctors office there is always and usually going to be a long wait. They exam your vision again and they make sure you have your prescription in hand on the day of the surgery. The doctor will tell you what he is going to do and what you will feel and see. Warning: Gruesome details next, Readers beware! The doctors assistant will put numbing drops in your eyes and then tell you to keep looking at the green light while laying down in the reclining chair. The doctor will tape your head down to keep you still. Then he taped my one eyelid to keep them open. He used a tool to keep one of my eyes open. He told me that my vision may go dark/ black for a second and then slowly come back so try not to panic. I think then cut my cornea and it became a flap. He lasered my eye (I can smell that burning flesh or when you get your teeth drilled) and yes I saw some smoke as well. Afterwards, he put some kind of liquid in my eyes and then used a small brush and swept over my eye and put the cornea flap over and swept the air bubbles away and boom he was done!!! Then on to the next eye. The whole procedure took like 10 minutes!!! It was faster than the wait time unfortunately. However now that I've had the procedure done a year ago.... this is the best investment I have made!(my vision before was -8 left eye and -6 right eye and with astigmatism) I like that they do not charge you for post op check ups and will do the checkups up to a year for the price you paid! They will give you a take home package of eyedrops with no preservatives when your eyes get dry, vitamins for your eyes, eyeshield glasses, sunglasses and paperwork to remind you what you can and can't do post surgery. I also like that they call you the day before your surgery or post op checkups to remind you of your appointment. I recently just got the Lasik re-enhancement for my left eye because my vision was a hair-off blurry and now I can see perfectly! They have their own parking lot in both LA and Buena Park locations.
