Even though I live directly across the street and it would be incredibly convenient, I'll be going elsewhere; that should tell you everything you need to know. I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this office and would not recommend them. There were errors in my prescription that weren't caught until I tried to order contacts and when I called to resolve it, the staff was unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of taking ownership of what was clearly their mistake, they made the situation harder than it needed to be. On top of that, the receptionist I spoke with was rude and lacked any real sense of customer care. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and left me without contacts for many days. There are plenty of other eye doctors out there who are more detail-oriented and treat patients with basic respect. Thus, I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

I just finished my exam and am happy to report that I am going to live. No, seriously, I am. My eyesight is deteriorating though. Dr. Jacob is incredible. He is kind, patient, and knowledgeable about the eye. He tested my near and far vision. A cataract test was done. I tried on 2 pairs of lenses. He then proceeded to take me outside to see how the new prescription felt in the sunlight. He tested my far vision and determined that i needed my prescription tweaked a little. Who does that?!?! Extremely rude, unprofessional and disorganized. They cancelled my 1:30p appointment because they mistakenly had me down for 1pm. They will also have major attitude if you don't buy your glasses there. Won't give you PD unless you pay $35. A couple of weeks later I find out they submitted a fraudulent claim to my insurance company for an exam they never performed. This caused a delay in my coverage. When I contacted them there was no apology, the receptionist was extremely rude, refused to let me speak to the doctor, and hung up in my face. I had an eye emergency--shards of plastic had blown into my eye while I was walking with my first grader--and it was excruciating and I couldn't open my eye. They refused to see me because they had other appointments (for non-emergencies). I eventually found another eye doctor, after driving a couple of miles with one functioning eye, and it took him all of 10 minutes to remove the shrapnel from my eyelid. Avoid this spot. There's another eye doctor right up the street (Los Angeles Vision Center), who went out of their way to help me find someone who was willing to see me right away. I went to this optometrist Dr Jacobs, to be tested for contacts. I had difficulty with them and reached out to the doctor via email and text and did not hear back from him. When I went in and complained that I could not see out the right eye he examined me and said there was no contact in either eye. Approximately 2 weeks later however, a dirty contact fell out of my eye. I had been seeing with blurry vision through that eye to the point that I had a fall therefore I contacted him to no avail and offered to give the contacts back. He said they do not take contacts back so I was stuck with $200 worth of useless contacts so I disputed the charge. The service was less than professional. read more

Dr. Jacobs is extremely knowledgable and does very thorough examinations. Recently, I made an appointment to get contacts through eye see optometry. To be honest, before I went in for my exam, I did some of my own research and became pretty overwhelmed by the amount of choices out there. Dr. Jacobs clearly explained which would be best for my eyes and even let me try 4 different options over the course of several weeks. I ended up with a contact that fits so well and is super comfortable! Also, I got some very good tips from the staff there on how to place and remove my contacts in the most hygienic way. I visited here for the first time maybe 4 years ago as I decided it was finally time to get reading glasses. The office was conveniently located adjacent to the SAG-AFTRA building. It was easy to setup the appointment by phone and I received reminder text messages to help me keep it. FYI I don't think they accept walk-ins so be sure you call first. Dr. Jacobs gave me a very thorough examination and was able to tell me a number of different things about the current state of my eyes. Without me first telling him, he was able to correctly identified that I had had a partially detached retina (injury as a youth) but that it was nothing I needed to worry about currently; a great bit of reassurance! Many of us work in front of screens these days. Dr. Jacobs asked me about my workstation and work habits. With this information he created glasses which would work at my preferred distance from my screens, and the result has been very useful/comfortable ever since. After the exam his front staff helped me pick out frames from the variety of options they had available. Again being that they are located less than a block from the SAG-AFTRA building you know they have to have the latest styles...the selection did not disappoint! We found some that looked great, and about a week later I was able to swing by and pickup the finished pair in a hard case. I recently went back for a follow up exam (4 years later) and got a new pair of glasses and I received the same excellent service. It's also worth noting the office worked with me to get the best deal with my vision insurance (of course insurance companies never make the options strait forward). Also worth noting, this time I settled on a pair of Nike frames which are incredibly light! Highly recommend those as well. So don't be put off by the sign (which might be the one thing I would say needs improvement, time for an exterior / window display refresh) you will receive excellent service here! read more

Dear Eye See Optometry, It's been a crazy couple of months together, but I think it's time for me to start seeing other doctors. When I first went to see Dr. Jacobs, I was impressed with his patience and thoroughness. Until I was sent off with a prescription that simply didn't add up. It was over a full point stronger in each eye than my glasses had ever been, and I've worn glasses for over 10 years. Of course, the only way to confirm this was to purchase glasses with the new prescription. Once they arrived, it was instantly confirmed that they were far too strong. I wore them for a week and received a constant dizzying headache. I went back in to get a new prescription and Dr. Jacobs was kind and understanding. But then he just randomly knocked my prescription down half a point in each eye and sent me off again. Shockingly, it was still inaccurate since he had altered one eye more than the other. I had to go back in a THIRD time for another assessment. To make matters worse, he also gaslit me by telling me that my prescription from the previous year was stronger than it was. I pulled up my previous prescription after the fact and I was right. He was wrong. Dr. Jacobs himself appears to be a caring optometrist, but at the end of the day it felt like he was just guessing at my prescription. I'm ready to move on. It's not me, it's you. I went to EyeSee for 3 years and have finally called it off. The first year, dr. Jacobs neglected to enter any of my prescription information for one of my eyes when ordering a years worth of contact lenses. They then proceeded to mail me these contacts with 0 power, 0 cylinder 0 axis etc. I called them up and they gave me a years worth of free samples in a bag to replace the contacts that I paid for. I should have walked away then, but I chalked it up to an honest mistake. However EyeSee is just sloppy and their communication skills stink. The doctor will tell you that in finding the right contact lens fit he will be available for you to call or email anytime, but he's not. You'll either be directed to office hours (which is for 45 minutes 4 days from the day you're calling) or his receptionist will answer his email with confusing non answers or instructions that come without explanation which they never clarify or simply don't respond to your question. Absolutely the worst when it comes to communicating. I "WAS" a client for 3 years and in the course they didn't alert me when my eyeglasses came in until I call after 3 weeks. They didn't alert me again the next year when my eyeglasses came in. The top breaking point was when I called the morning of November 22 to get an appointment. Confirmed a 2pm one. Rearranged my own client list for the day. I'm a celebrity hairstylist with my own clients to have to change. I drove 1 hour from my home to be told they don't have me on the books. Not a good service . I missed an small piece on my sun glasses and I was in front of the door of the shop and I just wanted to know if they repair glasses and replace some pieces . . AVOID. I tried this place because the reviews are good, but the doctor has a screw loose now. I wasn't even able to get an exam because he just lost it at me, scolding me about how he didn't like my old brand of contacts. I kept trying to explain that I wasn't married to that brand, I didn't need to use that one if he felt so strongly about it, but he just would not. let. it. go. He started chewing me out, saying he "detected hostility." Yeah dude, that's you! You were being very hostile! For no reason! Also I got really scammy vibes from them claiming my insurance wouldn't cover new contacts and I'd have to pay extra, which directly contradicts what my coverage says. Been coming here for years. Dr Jacobs always remembers my name when I come in, even if it's just for an adjustment! He is very personable and a great doctor. He has given me great advice year over year as my eyes continue to change as well as my insurance. Any problems that I've had, he's addressed. I've had issues over the years with contacts and every year when I come in for my exam I give them another shot with the newest tech. He's always up on that and I've gotten some great contacts the last couple years that are comfortable for me to wear. The exams are thorough and he's always got a new gadget as the industry progresses. I've also bought a few pairs of glasses/frames from him. The price is reasonable and the selection is ok. I'm not huge on shopping for frames, so I just went with what he has the last couple of years. I have a high prescription, so I get the thinning stuff, the progressive tint changing and glare protection. I trust them and would recommend to anyone, which is why they all get 5 stars!!!! read more

Went here a few years ago to get fitted for contact lenses, and everything seemed more or less fine at the time. The lenses weren't very comfortable, but I trusted the doctor's reasoning for suggesting them over other brands. However, after a visit to another optometrist today, it significantly changed my opinion about my visit. When I got my contacts, I felt pressured into accepting lenses that weren't comfortable. The doctor insisted that the Biofinity lenses were a better fit for my eyes than the AcuVues that I felt were more comfortable. I yielded to his expertise, and ended up having to put up with pretty uncomfortable lenses for a few years. They were uncomfortable enough that I eventually was spending a lot more time in glasses, and only using contacts for dates or other events. Today I learned why the doctor preferred the Biofinities over AcuVues - Cooper Vision, the manufacturer of Biofinities, provides financial incentives for hitting certain sales targets. So in the end, the doctor put financial incentives above my comfort, and abused my trust to do so. While I would suggest not giving them your business at all, if you must, just trust your feelings over the doctor's. Especially if he's offering Cooper Vision products. read more

Take this review with a grain of salt, because I'm especially high on humanity, and just feeling good today! I came in here because I lost a screw for my eyeglasses, so it was a minor repair. They took my glasses, came back in a few minutes, and had fixed my eyeglasses at no charge! That right there is five star service. From what I can see, they have a nice and diverse selection of eyeglass frames, and they are friendly and warm! However, they are not in my insurance network so I would be coming completely out of pocket if I were to ever buy a pair of eyeglasses here. Come check them out! read more

I have no clue what the 1 star reviers are talking about, they all sound a bit crazy to me. And it's COVID, that's why you have to call, knock or be buzzed in to enter the office! I was referred to Dr. Jacobs and I received excellent service and had a very positive experience. I received text message reminders about my appointment and even when I arrived late, his receptionist Janelle or Janelli (sp), was very, very polite and helpful and Dr. Jacobs didn't have me reschedule and did not rush me and even took interest in what my daily activites are which affects my vision, he also inspected my sunglasses to make sure they were quality to protect my sight. I recently had an extremely unpleasant and impersonal experience here. I ran out of contacts and ordered new pairs, verbally authorizing them to charge my insurance. Every optometrist I've been to has offered me a trial pair to use while the order ships out but I was refused a pair from here. Additionally, they refused to give me a mini bottle of contact solution as well as a plastic contact carrying case. Instead, I was given names of contact solution brands I could buy. This felt extremely condescending and impersonal. These guys are real penny pinchers. Every single optometrist I've been to in the past has offered me these as a perk. This place has no warmth for their customers at all. If you are looking for a good place to order contact lenses from, I would suggest going elsewhere. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor in all my life. I've been going there for about a year-and each time I re ordered contact lenses they were the wrong prescription. The 1st time I ordered them they gave me a -4.00 and -4.25 which was incorrect. Both of my eyes are -4.25 The 2nd time I ordered them they gave me a box of contact lenses for a month that were a -3.25 when my prescription is -425. I didn't understand why I had such terrible I headaches migraines and blurry vision. I was traveling that month so I took them out of the Box and put them in my suitcase without checking them. I let them know and they gave me a 2 week supply for free. The 3rd time I ordered them my sister picked up the Box yesterday and they were a -4.00: I called to let them know and the woman rushed me off the phone and just told me to come in and pick up a new Box after I told her I was in a rush and had no time to because I have to be on a flight early this afternoon. She said there is nothing that she can-do about that and I need to just come in and hung up on me. I drive there and there is no parking, so I park on the corner about 20' from their business. I call-back and ask if she can run out my contacts since I had nowhere to park or the time to look for a space. She says she cannot leave the building because she is there by herself when 2 minutes earlier I heard the doctor's voice instructing her what to do. She then tells me there's nothing she can-do and hangs up on me AGAIN!! I called back-and she says the doctor just got back-and he will run them out after I drove around the corner AGAIN. He comes out to my car, I roll down the window, he THROWS THE BAG OF CONTACTS AT ME, tells me he has a business to run, and says: " have a nice trip" as I was speaking to him and he was walking away from me. I am appalled that someone can treat a customer that way and a customer that was in the right nonetheless. I would not recommend going to this establishment!!!!! read more

The wait was very minimal, the doctor (dr Jacobs) was thorough and kind, and the office staff was so helpful in picking out a couple new pairs of specs and my new prescription. Support your neighborhood businesses. Their selection was pretty big, a kids section, frames starting at $79 and up to the fancy brands. The wait for glasses will be approx 5-6 days which is about average when you go pretty much anywhere. If you want an efficient and thorough eye exam with a plethora of frames check them out. read more
