Unprofessional, hostile I am truly shocked. I've never been treated so poorly by a doctors office in my life. I was excited to try this eye doctor after a recent move, but the way that the women (particularly Aime, and her superior who she called over to "help" (not sure of her name, but blonde hispanic woman 5'5" in her late 30s/early 40s) spoke to me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. First, I had asked Aime a question about F something on their intake form that I was unsure about. She immediately spoke down to me, spoke to me like I was an idiot, gave me attitude and a dirty look, and refused to answer my question. Then she called me over to tell me that my insurance does not cover what I needed (which is untrue--I've already scheduled another appointment elsewhere and they confirmed that I will be covered fully, so this must be a Tricounty business fee; another reason to avoid this place). I asked for more information about what this fee was for, and she continued to give me attitude and speak down to me as if I was a child. Her "supervisor" came over to explain the fee with even more attitude (smirking, cutting me off, looking at me sideways). On top of this, their explanation wasn't even a true explanation, more of "that's just how it is here, deal with it" rather than a true reason for the charge. I had been warned previously that this business likes to trick their customers into additional charges and lock them into using their full insurance benefit to use with them (such as using your insurance towards their overpriced frames that could be purchased elsewhere), and I hate to see that this might be true. It would be in the best interest of the business to create better representation for themselves out front, I have no clue why anyone goes here at all with this sort of completely unprovoked mean-girl treatment. read more

Any facility that can't even apologize for making a patient (who is in her eighties, and was very cold in the waiting room) wait 45 minutes past her appointment time, nor offer any reason for the delay, is an office I would never recommend. I realize medical facilities tend to be entirely disregarding of other people's time--but that's nonsense. A patient is a customer. And a customer's time is just as valuable as anyone else in the facility--doctors included. We arrived fifteen minutes early, as always. I would never expect a facility to take us in early. But I do expect them to honor the appointment time we were given. And at the VERY least, sincerely apologize for the delay, and have a reason for it. Very poor service. And very frustrating experience. Not to mention the rude tech who finally called us back... no thanks. read more

Would definitely recommend tricounty eye. Went in for an eye examination. Staff and doctor were extremely polite. Had to schedule another appointment for contacts. Having never put in contacts before this they were very helpful and patient. During the class it took me about 20 minutes to complete the training but now I am able to get my contacts in and out within 4-5 minutes and every time I do it gets easier and easier. read more

The care here has really gone downhill in the last 2 years. They didn't have my last vision test in their books last year when I have a receipt from them of it. Jonathan Duong OD, wrote my prescription incorrectly so when I placed an order for contacts online there was a lot of unnecessary back and forth with the office and the online provider where I had to physically go in and have them rewrite and sign my prescription so I can order more contacts. Their system was down at the time of my visit so I couldn't pay my copay at the time. They said they would charge over the phone once it is back up. Called me back and had to go back in to pay my copay physically. It is just overall a mess of an experience the last 2-3 times I've gone. Been a patient there for 15 years never had any problems getting in to be seen for exams or contact lens fittings. Suddenly it takes months to get in. They order me a new contracts and it takes months to get in to get them fitted. Not sure what the difference or why the change but that is ridiculous. What a shame. read more

Came here for new contact lenses. After a year of the wearing the prescribed contact lenses, my eyes began to bother me and at the and of the day my eye muscles were showing eyes of fatigue. I did not know why this was occurring. I decided to return to my original eye doctor. After his examination, he was able to confirm that Tricounty Eye Institute had prescribed me .5 higher in my left eye and .5 lower in my right eye from what my prescription should have been. This whole year one eye was over corrected and the other under corrected. This was their solution since my eyes have different prescriptions "let's just even it out". Not the way you fix a person with a stigmatism. I would have never known their mistake if I wouldn't have gone for a second opinion somewhere else. Would not recommend this place if it's for their primary eye care. My husband was also given the wrong prescription. So this doesn't seem like a one time mishap. read more

Dr. Samantha Schneider Johnson and Dr. Mark Schneider: I just found an article in AARP AARP November 2023 magazine article: "University of Washington study found that at-risk adults who received hearing aids showed thinking and memory losses that were 48% slower compared with those who didn't .Another study found that those who had CATARACT SURGERY had a 29% lower risk for dementia compared with those who did not have the procedure. Treating poor vision could have prevented 100,000 current causes of dementia in the US according to a 2021 study. " (see photo below) In my opinion, I think anyone who is wearing contacts or glasses should go ahead and get the Panoptics RLE MULTIFOCAL lens and never have to deal with handling daily contact lenses(I don't want to put my fingers in my eyes) or wearing glasses (blocking your nasal passages when they slip down your nose) and you don't have to have to NEED cataract surgery to get this done. I didn't have cataracts I just wanted a better quality of life with BOTH OF MY EYES MULTI- FOCAL seeing 20/20 WITHOUT GLASSES so I got it done early and I am THRILLED. Panoptix RLE is so worth it. Another bad experience. The only reason I'm here is because my primary sent here for a medical issue. Showed up for appt. Receptionist said they tried calling yesterday to reschedule. no they did not, I don't have missed calls or messages. I do have a text confirming appointment. Receptionist attempted to argue that they had called. So I rescheduled as I had no other choice at this point. I've been a patient here off and in about 20 years. I used to love this office. I've been a patient of Tricounty Eye Institute for a few years now, I had a very disappointing experience this morning though and will be finding a new doctor for my family moving forward. I called the emergency line this morning at 10am, after having a contact lens become stuck in my eye at 6am and finding myself unable to locate and remove the lens, and in a significant amount of pain still 4 hours later when I called. The answering service was very helpful and paged the on-call doctor for me, Dr. Lin. When I received a call back it sounded as though the doctor had just woken up and had zero interest in being bothered. She let me know I could make an appointment for Monday, or find somewhere else in my area if I was "really" that uncomfortable. No suggestions on who may be able to see me on a Sunday - what is the point of having an on-call doctor in the first place?? Just don't answer the phone, that would be more helpful and comforting. I was referred to this center by my Primary Care doctor and I'm sure glad that I was. Dr. Samantha Schneider performed my cataract surgery and Dr. Mark Schneider performed my LASIK surgery, both of Schneider LASIK Center.
