This place got talked up a lot by annual Groundhog's Day attendees so we stopped in for a bite. Slices are priced right, by but weirdly the majority of menu itema don't show pricing on the main board. This is a swet sauce establishment, nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately not only is it a bit sweeter than I usually find, the thin crust and overemphasis (see: SWIMMING in it after first bite) doesn't impress me as a pizza eater. Red pepper helps balance it out, but I can't imagine "famous pepperoni" helping out the grease factor. I hear their other items are good, so maybe next time I'll skip the pizza. read more

Their Chicken Caesar Salad is actually really, really good. The best I've had in Punxsutawney - they use romaine, the ingredients are fresh, and it's enjoyable to eat. I was impressed. The pizza... is not my jam. At all. The sauce is very, VERY sweet, the crust is thin and almost like a large water cracker? The cheese is maybe Kraft singles? Their "famous pepperoni pizza" is not good. Very thin crust, floppy and wet with too much oil. The sauce was extremely sweet and extra pepperoni was 4 pieces a slice. Thankfully it was only $11 but it was so gross. The place itself is run down looking and parking spots are not lined, so people park willy nilly blocking others in. I did not try anything else there, maybe something else on their menu should be their specialty. Positives: Nice employees and they do have booze for sale. read more

Ordered 2 pizzas with mushrooms. Regular pizzas come with pepperoni, sauce and cheese. When I got home, there was mushrooms, but no pepperoni. I was charged $24.38 for 2 pizzas with only mushrooms. Can mushrooms be that expensive??? I am done with them. read more

Anytime I come to visit the area I have to come to Laska Pizza for their regular pepperoni pizza. The sauce and crust is perfect for my taste. It's unlike anything I can find in south Texas. Always better to call ahead though because they do get busy for weekend lunch and dinner time. And if you can catch them when their making the cheeseburger pizza definitely try one. It reminds me of Nicks carlino burgers but on a pizza! Edit: Went back to get one more pizza before I fly back to Texas. It was about an hour wait so tried to pay for a beer while I waited but apparently they don't take out of state drivers license. Ever on the epic quest for more and more pizza, my bf was quick to introduce me to Laska's Pizza. I know it's a true love it or hate it in the Pizza World (Yeah, I capitalized that.), but I am on the LOVE LOVE LOVE it side of the sweet sauce thin crust divide. While it's not that buttery flaky pastry type crust I've come to adore it's still amazingly delicious and delicate. I think a true test of a pizza joint's ability to hold up is a plain cheese pizza. I trusted my bf and his lovely family in going for the pepperoni pizza option. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the meat is hidden between the crust and the cheese. It's taste is perfectly mingled with the sweet sauce and thick cheese. The price is low and we usually end up getting 4 pizzas as they're smaller and still have left overs for the next morning. I'd love to try some other toppings eventually and maybe even stay in and eat there as we always get it to go. It's definitely worth stopping in or calling ahead and picking it up on the way home. read more

Their pizza reminds me of a little Sicilian Pizza shop I used to frequent up in Hillsboro, NH, a medium thin crust, sweet sauce, tastes like about 5 or 6 different cheeses, pepperoni-- and that's it-- and that's all it needs when it's this good! The people are the best! Atmosphere is very nice, cozy, friendly, small-town charm. Wide variety of foods and beverages, but I go for their pizza, and I recommend you order well in advance, they're always busy. Stopped at Laska Pizza on the way home from camp. Luke was great, very pleasant. The beer prices are amazing out of their well stocked coolers. As for the pizza, it's an unusual cheese blend that just doesn't pull it off. Go with the Italian grilled chicken salad with roasted red peppers and the sweet potato fries. read more

My favorite pizza place of all time. I often work in Punxy and a stop at Laska's is always a must if I'm in the mood for some pizza. It's not your typical pizza though. It's thin crust with an unusual sweet sauce (which is what makes the pizza great in my opinion.) And, they hide the toppings under the cheese. They also have some specialty pizzas and other great menu items, but the standard Pepperoni Pizza is a go to item all the time. They have a decent beer selection for good prices. You can carry out 6 packs. Seriously worth a try if you're ever passing through Punxy and are in the mood for a great pie. read more

My favorite pizza hands down. I was introduced in the late 90s when my boyfriend (a Punxsy native) brought me home to meet the parents. I'm still married to the guy and it's a requisite that my in-laws bring some when they come visit us near Harrisburg. A little secret when you order - ask them not to cut the pizzas, let them cool, wrap up and freeze. Reheat back home. Laska's pizza is the most unique pizza you will ever have. I have been addicted since my first bite back in the 80's. Their pizzas come in one size with a relatively thin crust and they have a great blend of cheeses and sweet sauce. Best of all, their prices blow all the big pizza chains out of the water. There are other items on the menu but the pizza is the highlight of the place. So, if you find yourself in Punxsy to see Phil or some amish people, make the short trip up the hill to Laska's.
