Lassen Medical Clinic is the most negligent, malicious, and dehumanizing medical facility I have ever encountered. Every experience I had there made my health worse. Their Executive Director, Kristin Behrens, hides behind staff to avoid accountability and refused to respond to a formal complaint. Nurse Practitioner Katherine Ernest repeatedly obstructed care--refusing to provide letters for essential disability benefits, forcing unnecessary office visits just to refill long-term maintenance meds, and denying basic documentation that she KNEW I needed to survive. This clinic does not support disabled people. It exploits them. Katherine's actions weren't just lazy--they were cruel, targeted, and deeply ableist. She made it clear that my wellbeing didn't matter unless it came with a billable appointment. Her behavior was retaliatory and vindictive, and the clinic's leadership backed her at every step. And when I finally spoke up? I was told I was the problem. I was told to "reflect on my actions" after THEY cost me my only source of income, sabotaged my appeal, and treated me like a burden. I have never been treated with such disdain by people who call themselves healthcare professionals. Dignity Health calls their brand "Human Kindness." That's a lie. This place is the opposite of kindness. It is cruel, cowardly, and broken. If you are disabled, poor, mentally ill, or simply in need of compassionate care--run. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. originally went to Anderson Clinic and was embarrassed by the secretary when she told me that they don't take my insurance anymore because they don't pay enough. really?? I was referred to Lassen clinic. I didn't have an appointment and was seen within 30 minutes. I was treated with respect and they take my insurance. The doctor listened and diagnosed me quickly. Dr. was younger but extremely professional and knowledgeable. I felt heard. Script was called in immediately to pharmacy and Lassen followed up with me to make sure I got my meds. I love my doctor, changing offices due to the massive incompetence of the front desk staff. Staff tend to be impolite at best. When scheduling appointments via their own portal they are not able to view messages sent or received in the front office so they don't actually get the appointment scheduled. I have had appointments cancelled and rescheduled with no notice until we show up at the office after taking time off of work. To then hear the staff speaking poorly of us (while we were in a room, so it was loud enough to hear through walls) was the last bit for me. The front office staff and their rudeness blows me away, we have stayed for over a decade because we adore our dr, however after today we will be speaking with our insurance about thr ineptitude and lack of abty to be decent to patients, we no longer feel comfortable at this office. Lassen Medical Group's walk in clinic May have saved my life. I was sick for a whole week and couldn't be seen by my PHP. Not knowing I was having a stroke, I showed up at opening to get an EKG. the full lab and work up ruled out heart, but detected something else. I went to the ER where, sure enough, I was stroking. surgery and lots of rest, I am nearly fully recovered. thank you with all my heat to Lassen's staff. I love you and my family does too. read more

Traveling through Red Bluff, CA. Wife had been sick for a few days. Sore throat, ear ache, short breath and extremely tired. Lobby sent us upstairs to doc's office. Waiting room was empty at 1:00pm. Desk clerk said the earliest they could see her was 4:00pm. Explained we were traveling. Didn't care. Top line insurance. Didn't care. 3 hour wait with empty waiting room and parking lot. Went Pulse Urgent Care just up the street. Was under Dr's care in ten minutes. Will bypass Red Bluff, CA next. Or, maybe drive through to say hello to the great folks at Pulse.​ read more

Have been trying for 2 weeks to get ahold of someone in medical records to ask a question about my sons records. Left a message 2 wks ago and never got a call back. Then called back twice since then and it said there was "a high call volume" so I hung up without leaving another message. Called again at 9:15am today and waited on hold for 5min and then it asked if I wanted to use the call back feature and wouldn't lose my place in line. So I left my name and number on that option and it said I would get a call back shortly. It is now 1:38pm and I haven't heard from them and have now been on hold again for another 9mins. Let me preface with two facts: 1, we have been dealing with Lassen Family for 25 years. 2, during those 25 years, Management has consistently SUCKED. That said, people have made the difference. The front desk ladies have been courteous and understanding, but they are between a rock and a hard place, since management gives them few tools. And the doctors and NPs there have been great. Our FAVORITE, Dr. Nurse Lena Jesrani (Phd, NP), is attentive and trusts my knowledge about my body. She has been flawless through diagnosing and helping find and work with doctors and surgeons for lumbar laminectomies, cancer, and knee problems. The people here, like Lena and the front desk get five stars. Management gets one. read more

I recently got a collection notice, no previous bill mind you, and when I called my insurance I found out that not only did they wait 9 months to submit the claim for my annual exam and preventive exams and bloodwork, but they were out of network when I went in! Now keep in mind when I checked with insurance they came up as participating and I asked if they accepted my coverage as in network. Apparently what had happened was the Doctor was new and did not become participating for several months and the billing department thought by submitting claims after his status changed it would assist the claims processing but they put the date of service prior to the in network status. Now I have to cut back on heat and food to cover the out of network costs! :( read more

I was partnered up by default with this medical group and from the first time I walked in they tried every which way to deny me service. Now I had my prescription stolen from me at Rite aide in Anderson California. I filed a police report. The security footage shows that it is not me picking up the prescription the officer in charge believes that is not me as well as the fact I do not know the person. I've been trying to get ahold of the doctor for the last week. Today I get a call from the administration office warning me that they are going to discharge me because of my attitude towards their staff. Yes I've been a little frustrated I've been treated like a second class citizen as soon as they found out I had medi-cal. The doctor will not prescribe me any more even though it's proven that I never picked it up. And the pharmacy will not refill it until they get the approval from the doctor. So it seems the pharmacy is not accountable and the doctor isn't accountable. Then who is accountable? No one is it seems. read more

Went to urgent care with suicidal person. Asked if they could see them and possibly prescribe anti depressants. Was told no. Left and called for an appt. They asked if we could be there today. I explained that we had just driven there from three towns away and was told they could not see this person for urgent care. The person I told this to said, "0h, you're the one that broke our door." I apparently pushed their sliding doors, thinking they were push and pull doors. My action caused one to go off the track.....as in, it can be put back on the track. Don't have their act together and care more about their front door than a person's life. Would give no stars, but you can't post with none. read more

If I could give a zero star rating I would. This office is unprofessional and incompetent. Appointments are often booked weeks out, and wait times are hours, even when the front desk says it's a half hour wait. They have mostly PA's and NP's, and they frequently misdiagnose. My experiences have been waiting for hours to see an NP, the NP talking over me, rushing through the appointment, and not taking my opinion into consideration. My last appointment ended in yet another misdiagnosis. Despite my insistence that I knew I had a sinus infection, as I have chronic sinusitis, the NP refused to prescribe me an antibiotic, ensuring that I would have to repeat this most deplorable experience again. During her unprofessional rush , I did not get a chance to address my need for a follow-up on a blood test to monitor the efficacy of my epilepsy medication. Without ending the appointment, the NP walked out of the office. I had to ask a tech if my appointment was over! Needless to say, I left the appointment feeling uncared for, ignored, and hopelessly unwell. I will be seeking out a new medical office, as my last experience is an prime example of their standard of practice. Beware, this office is ripe for a medical malpractice lawsuit. For their incompetence indicates they will eventually overlook a serious condition, and misdiagnose in an effort to save time. P.S. STAY AWAY! This office has "PA" doctors assistants running the show. Not only are wait times very long on the phone they are even longer in the waiting room. We made an appointment for my husband on a follow up from a stroke were told he would see his primary doctor at that time. Only to find out via email a day or so before his actual appointment that it wasn't to be. I called them and was told the PA's work under the doctors ... We have had to go there other times. Seen by PA's who just look at you, give you an Rx and expect you to make a follow up appointment, they even managed to give us Misdiagnosis on 2 of our kids ! This place is all about herding people in and out like cattle, make the money and get their daily quotas. If you have insurance look other places if you are medi-cal look elsewhere also. So was in extreme pain and been throwing up. Walk in clinic i thought but when i went in they said i did mot have a primary doctor there even tho i have been there before. Apparently my former doctor left so i could not be seen by any available doctor even though i had insurence and my information was still in their system. I went to my doctor two towns away but they were closed. So now i have to suffer not knowing if it is the flu, or even meningitis by googling the symptoms. As a family we have gone to both the Cottonwood clinic and the Dermatologist in Red Bluff many times, but no more. The Cottonwood clinic has unfriendly front desk employees and it usually takes too long to see a PA or MD. The Dermatologist in RB is nice, but we were not impressed with his ability to diagnose and treat skin problems, and there was always a mix-up getting the prescriptions. read more

Approximately every other time I've had to go into this place I've had an issue. The problems have ranged from snotty personnel, to issues with appointment scheduling. They're basically the bottom of the barrel as medical providers go. They're fine if there's absolutely no where else open within a reasonable distance, but otherwise, I'd suggest going elsewhere. They do have a nice facility. However, having an automatic door doesn't offset the other issues here. read more

I went to my appointment not only find this out they also told me they couldn't see me because the month of September was the month they renew contracts with the insurance company so I couldn't be seen until October.. Dr. Mizra is a straight up piece of ****. I have a very unique problem and also a very high tolerance to medication, so because of my nerve problem, anti inflammatories DO NOT work on me. I specifically told him that anti inflammatories DO NOT work on me because I've been taking them for the past 6-8 months, close to ever anti inflammatory that is out there. Nonetheless even after I told him that, he continued to prescribe them to me, I continued to be in pain, he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me, except waste my time, money, and cause problems.
