The setting is gorgeous--towering trees, peaceful forest trails, and a dog-friendly play/agility area that our pup loved. The sites are level and full hook-up, and the grounds are spotless and well maintained. We enjoyed wandering the Cat's Eye Trail at night, spotting glowing eyes along the way--it was such a fun and unique touch. We would happily stay again.

Showers were eh on cleanliness and curtains feel a bit sheer. Don't forget your shower shoes. You have to pay $5 for the code for each gender bathroom, but you can use it unlimited during your stay. Also, had a medical emergency where someone from my camp fainted multiple times/cut his hand open - went to emt for help and they said "we'll be there in a few minutes," lacked urgency, when they finally arrived they didn't know how to take VITALS, and wasted 10 minutes of our time when he suggested the nearest hospital, 1 hour away, in Redding after explaining there's "not much he can do."

I have never been more disgusted in my entire life where flies fall on you while you shower and get into your clothes. There were tampons in two different shower stalls left there for 3 days I went to the Manzanita general store to complain but nothing was done other than the typical, "we will inform management. Thanks..." Finally on the 4th day, the showers were somewhat decent. There needs to be more pride and care put into the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms. I took pictures of the showers when no one was there.

We were a little skeptical of the park since we couldn't see it from the main road it was down a dirt road. We were hoping we wouldn't have to turn the motorhome around. After tracking down the host, we pulled into a really nice site. Electricity was perfect and there was plenty of clear sky for our skylink satellite. The park has a little lake for kids to swim in and another section for fishing. The store is nice and stocked. We would definitely stay here again if traveling through the area.

In the beginning of the trail, there is a General Store and restroom. The restroom is an actual restroom with toilet and sink. Not a portable potty! The trail to Burney Falls was easy. Different parts of the trail, there is a different view of the fall. The view from bottom of the fall was breathtaking. Be very careful if you want to get close to the fall. The rocks can be very slippery. We went off season so the crowds were not as bad as expected. If visiting Friday-Sunday or during the holidays, reservations are required. This is something new that they implemented on May 15, 2026. Check out their website for more information. Plan accordingly and enjoy the hiking adventures!

I actually received a $1 back as in a senior. I dislike that dog access is limited to parking lot, and observation area. Not allowed on stairs leading down to base of falls, on trails, posted properly. I understand people don't clean up after their pets plus you never know how dogs will interact. Their park, their rules. I love the rule that doesn't allow you to leave your dog(s) in the car, kudos. I think these dog rules apply to all California State Parks. Beautiful falls, great fall weather, friendly rangers.

It was scenic, there's lots of different lakes that dot the area. It's really pretty. People come here for boating, swimming, and hiking up to the waterfalls. Theres also water sports and camping in the summer months.

Only visited Lassen for a short afternoon hike at Manzanita Lake, but what a beautiful park it is…read more Since it's a National Park there was a $30 entrance fee, no one was at the booth when we arrived, but they had signage on how to pay online, and told you where you could find wifi to do so. We did the Manzanita Lake loop, which was about two miles. The trail was easy but took a long time because we kept stopping to take pictures of the beautiful views. We did the trail clockwise and it took a little while to get to the ultimate view, but I was glad it wasn't immediate so that we had something to really look forward to while on the trail. We parked at the Loomis Museum lot where there was a bathroom and small visitor center/gift shop. Parking was pretty full when we arrived, but emptied out quite a bit when we were leaving. They had kayak rentals on the lake, we had originally planned to do it, but time didn't permit on this trip. Rangers at the visitor center/shop were very knowledgeable, I heard one giving information about the plethora of trials and areas of the park, and wow are there a lot of trials!

I love how this national park is underrated and the shadow to Yosemite!…read more It's so green, quaint, not crowded, well paved roads and hiking paths and etc here. Highlights were : cave (my baby was surprisingly not scared during the trail in the cave), sulphur, beautiful meadows with snowy topped Lassen Mountain View, lake, and etc. the snowy mountain top helps with the weather being tolerable during the summer season - especially mid-July to end of July or so. I can't wait to return.
