What an incredible secret find off the beaten path. Delicious wine worth the stop if you can get a reservation. Loved their Rose and the day before coming I mentioned that I didn't like Rose wine. Very impressed with the quality and atmosphere. So lovely to go to a place that's not noisy and crowded. Only con is that the restroom facility is a trailer and this caliber seems like it should be utilizing nice indoor bathrooms.

This place was amazing! And I'm talking amazing. We only had enough time to do one wine tour in the area, so we went to this one upon a recommendation of a friend. We loved the tour of both the vineyard and the barreling room. Afterwards we got to sample a lot of wine and AMAZING local cheeses. We sat outside for awhile after because...well..they give you a decent amount of wine....The guide was extremely knowledgeable and really nice. This was great for both the wine lover and the wine kinda-liker.

We visited Lasseter for a bachelorette party, and we had the absolute best experience! The wine was delicious and the scenery was beautiful. Would 100% recommend this winery! If you have an even remotely sarcastic sense of humor, we 1000% recommend Alex as your server. He was so fun and made our experience 10x better! He is incredibly knowledgeable and also contributed so much to our conversation. Also, follow his amazing dog on instagram @audiothecattledog. Overall, our experience at Lasseter was 10/10!

Review time! I would like to say that I've done my fair share of wine tasting and winery tours, but this one takes the cake. The main reason we came here is because this places is owned by Jon Lasseter and his wife Nancy. In case you don't know who John is, he's pretty much the brains behind everything Pixar related. He's also the head of Disney Animation currently. We found out he had a winery, so we made reservations and off we went to Glen Ellen. First we were a bit late, but the the group waited for us, and the host, Steven was fantastic. Very articulate and knowledgeable about pretty much every facet of this the place. I truly learned a lot about the process of wine making and the history of this particular winery because of him. He was very generous with the pours as well and was willing to give even more to those interested. Nice! Also included in the package is a cheese plate with some amazing cheese! I'm a cheese nut, so I'll always welcome some great cheese! As for the wines? Fantastic. They had a French feel, and I guess that's what was intended and it worked out perfectly. The Lasseter's hired the right people for pretty much everything at this Winery. I try to get my reviews fair and with a little bit of criticism, but I honestly couldn't find a single fault in this place. Not a single one! Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I truly couldn't find a single bad thing to say about this place. Forget about Napa, go to Glen Ellen at the Lasseter Family Winery. It's honestly the best. To infinity and beyond!!

I couldn't think of a better place to grab a glass of wine in the sun. We came here pretty tired but that changed when we were greeted by our amazing host (Richard) who filled us in on all the wines and also just had a good long conversation with in general. Each of the wines was great (even the rose which we are not usually fond of but ended up buying some here). This place is a little hidden but as long as you use google maps you should be able to find it. You also need a reservation or else they may not open the gates for you so keep that in mind.

    Current price list.

A couple tips: - getting to the winery, there is no signage for the final run to the winery. Yes it is the dirt road that runs behind the school. - they are by appointment only, check them out on CellarPass So I am not a fan of wineries that do by appointment only, but I understand why many do this. The winery property, once though the gate is stunning, you feel so out in the country it is beautiful. Our wine tasting was excellent, they had put in nibbles plus they were tasting the individual varietals that went in to their blends. So you could get a before and after tasting. Wines were very good with personal favorites being the Enjoue and the Passage.

Ask the Community - Lasseter Family Winery

Are infants allowed to outdoor tastings?

I don't know for sure, but based on our interactions with the staff including the owner, I don't see them saying no to infants.

We spent a lovely few hours at Benziger Family Winery in Glen Ellen on a recent Sonoma trip…read more Although they were busy, we appreciated being able to walk in without a reservation and still enjoy tastings at the main bar. Our server, Patrick, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. He gave us a great understanding of the history of the family winery as well as the nuances of the various wines. He never made us feel rushed, and we enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views--and watching the tractor tours pass by--while we tasted. Patrick even shared side-by-side trios of Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons to highlight differences in winemaking methods, vineyard sites, and soils, which made for a particularly interesting and educational tasting experience. In fact, it was every bit as informative and enjoyable as other tasting experiences we've had that were far more expensive, more formal, and required advance reservations.    The tasting room also features a wonderful selection of gifts and specialty items. By the end of our visit, we left with three bottles of wine (2025 Frank Johnson Sauv Blanc and two 2022 Three Blocks Cab Sauvs) along with several gifts and mementos. Benziger has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is both kid and pet-friendly. We also stopped by their sister winery, Imagery, afterward and found it to be another Sonoma gem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to either.
