I never looked at it I trusted they knew what they were doing. I asked for an itemized estimate and they said it was going to be 1500.00 plus tax and tge " inspection" . I asked for an itemized list they repeated the same thing and said that is how they operate. I called Francis and they came out the same day, told me we did not have a 40 gallon that it was a 20, and they did the work for 750.00 AND gave us an itemized invoice. I am in the collision repair business and I am astonished at the dishonesty of the first company. Any well work we need in the future will be done by Francis.

Husbands Review! But wanted to share. This was my recent experience regarding my grinder. Over…read morethe last month my grinder has alarmed twice. So I called Lake  Norman Sewer Septic to come and check it out. They said I needed the control panel and grinder pump replaced. The total cost would be $5938.  I contacted another local company and they agreed with Lake Norman that the system needed to be replaced. Their estimate was $4700, but you had to pay the electrician separately (several hundred dollars).  Luckily one of my neighbors told me to call McCall Brothers. Scott at McCall Brothers told me that they doubted I needed the whole system replaced but if I did their total replacement cost would be $2400. McCall Brothers technicians came out the next day and  ran tests on everything, grinder, floats, and control panel. After running the pump system over and over again they came to the conclusion that I needed nothing at all. The reason my grinder alarmed was that a float was occasionally hanging up on the cross bar, and they adjusted that in a few seconds. In fact they said my system was in excellent shape and should last many more years. So I went from $5900, to $4700 +, to $2400, to $0. Yesterday my neighbor had Lake Norman Sewer Septic come and look at his system with the exact same results I had, replace everything at almost $5700. McCall Brothers came out and said he only needed a pump. It will likely cost less that $1500.  So if you have issues with your grinder my advice is to call McCall Brothers first at 704-399-1506.  Thanks for your help Scott

Well, they make a bit of a racket, especially if they happen to be in the garage, up against the bedroom wall. Once you know this, you can relax and honestly, I made the panic phone call (I did wait until morning, didn't call at 2am!) These folks are so nice, calm, cooperative and can walk you through almost anything that isn't something they need to do in person. They also respond quickly to "real" issues, which I did have one. A circuit of some sort malfunctioned and they came quickly after we ran a couple of easy tests over the phone together to determine that was the issue. (Kind of like the old "My refrigerator stopped running," "Is it plugged in?" routine, super simple. With all that said, this really is a great company and I highly recommend them, especially if you need a bit of "hand-holding" as a homeowner, they are truly kind.

It was late so I called one of those companies that advertises on TV. They said they would come in the morning and check it out. That cost me $90 for the visit. When the guy arrived, he went under the house, looked at my well pump, looked at my tank. He came in the house with really bad news. My pump was dead, and my tank was about to die. The end me a quote to fix it that had three different quote options. A $12,000 quote, a $7000 quote, and a $5000 quote. If I decided to have him fix our well, the $90 would go towards that repair. I told him I needed a second opinion so I called Francis Well & Pump. These guys came over and did exactly the same thing as the first guy. They looked at everything and came to the conclusion that all I needed was a $200 switch replaced They could've charged me a lot of money if they wanted to, but they didn't . I can't speak highly enough for the experience that I had. These guys are great. Call them if you have any problems going on with your well and they will take care of you and not rip you off.

Good thing I got a second opinion. The guys from Water Doctor fixed the problem for a $95 service fee by turning off the power to the pump for an hour and turning it back on. Moral of the story, always get a second opinion. I suggest not using these guys and call Water Doctor for well issues. They were fast and honest.

They didn't have the equipment or a pump truck when they came to pull the pump so they used a pickup to pull out the pump out. Since the pump was set with rigid PVC pipe, they broke off the pump and it fell back in the well. They assured me that they would come back, remove the old pump from my well and finish the job. They also tore off all the insulation on the bladder tank piping and promised to replace it. I have called them every week now for several months. At first they would lie about ordering the parts that they needed to get the old pump out of the well. Now they refuse to answer my calls. Like the characters they are, their mailboxes are full and you cannot leave a message. This review is to hopefully keep you from being ripped off by a bunch of amateurs. You will know what I mean if they show up without any equipment and a gift of gab about how good they are. You would be better served by getting a professional to do your pump work so you don't end up with you old pump clogging up your well.
