Called last chance to make repairs to my Generac whole house generator for the PG&E outages. My starter was acting up. They came out and diagnosed as a faulty starter. Didn't hear back from them as they told me they would call me when they got a price on a new starter. 2 weeks later I get a phone call from Last chance wondering when they can come back out to fix my generator. I told them that I never received a price on a new starter and didn't think give permission to order anything. But since the price for the starter wasn't that much, I gave the go a head to return to fix. They did make an effort to come out before our PG&E was turned off due to the psp outages. When he "fixed" my generator, I was told something isn't quite right with the starter but it now starts and to call if it acts up again. My wife asked what we should do if the starter acted up like before, and he instructed her to tap the starter like we were before to get it to engage. 2 weeks later, and my generator was doing the same thing it was doing before the "fix". I called Last Chance back to tell them it was acting up again, they came out to access, and then proceeded to tell me the starter was faulty and needed to be replaced again. They then gave me another quote. I said that starter is brand new and you need to warranty that starter. They first told me that the manufacturer doesn't provide a warranty. I told them they need to cover the cost since it's their work. They then changed their story and informed me that since I "beat on the new starter" to get it to engage that they weren't going to warranty anything. The wife that runs the booking end was extremely rude to me. I asked to speak with the husband, and to have him call me ASAP. No call. I attempted to call him, left messages, with no call back. Now I'm out $300 plus dollars for a generator repair that didn't work. I ended up replacing the starter myself for a fraction of the cost. Very unprofessional business practices. Obvious lack of trouble shooting skills. I'm also not convinced they even replaced my original starter, I did request the old parts, which I never got.
