We have used Diamond Well for over 20 years and have always found them easy to work with and always helpful but they went way beyond that this week. I have just taken over maintenance on our well and had some issues. I called Diamond Well and they spent so much time walking me through the process to get my water back. They never rushed me or in any way made me feel I was wasting their time. Service like that is so hard to find now. Nobody has the patience to just help someone through a rough spot. Diamond Well Pump is terrific! Dave and Dan are both so knowledgeable and helpful, just when I was about to give up on my dirty water problem and blow my brains out instead. They didn't talk down to me, they patiently listened to my 10-mo.-long horror story with another local well pump company and ended up solving my problem in one trip without trying to sell me unnecessary equipment or services and at a reasonable price! I had a new pump installed. Stopped working a couple weeks later but Diamond was unable to service under the warranty since they had no technicians. It appears they are going out of business or temporarily closed. Either way, I paid a small fortune to have a warranty which is now useless. Their repair failed and I had to pay another company to fix it. I've requested a partial refund but so far no response. read more

I contracted diamond well drilling to deepen an existing well. First they said they could not do it after setting up over the hole. Of which one of the employees said he saw no reason why. They then drilled a new hole hit water and got their bit stuck. The owner said he would drill a hole next to it to relieve the pressure and pull it out of which never happened. They said they would drill a hole next to the abandoned hole. That hole suddenly was in need of casing that would cost approx. 30,000 dollars! I have 5 other wells on the property and none needed anything they we stating. I paid them to almost 5000 to get off the property. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Called Diamond Well Drilling when I realized at 8am that my well was not working, not even a drip of water. They dispatched a worker immediately. Eric called and gave me an ETA and he arrived within the window of time he stated. He diagnosed the problem right away and had the parts and tools on hand necessary for the repair. He didn't waste a moment getting to work. Eric was courteous and professional and he left the area cleaner than how he found it. We recently sold our home in grass valley and the buyer choose to have Diamond well for a test . The first test was for 4 hours and technician said things were good. The next day the same person was sent out while we were gone no phone call or any notification and was told to do a 6 hour test . This turned into a 10 hour test not certain if our pump was damaged. Our Relator called and requested a check of the pump and was berated by the owner and she was told he would do business however he chose. A second person was sent out and said things were fine . However because we were not Cherry because of this owners attitude we hired a second company to check status on our well . Anyone who lives with well water knows you don't jeopardize a well or waste water. If the first test wasn't done properly why send the same person out to do redo ? I would never recommend this company . read more

Be warned and stay away from them! Our school is without water again today after three years and over $160,000 of expense for Diamond Well Drilling's claims to upgrade and repair our existing water system. We still suffer water outages on average about two to three times a month with no lasting solution in site. Not only did their initial bid to completely fix and upgrade my system at about $90,000 have cost overruns that inflated it to $144,000, they refused to replace the portable water tank verbal agreed to, claiming the original tank was good enough. When the tank failed to pass inspection I was forced to purchase and install a new tank at my own expense (another 10,000 spend ). In the end they showed themselves incapable of handling projects beyond single family residential homes. In addition they were constantly reinterpreting their vaguely written contract to allow them to do as little as possible, using sub-par materials, what appears to be incompetence leads them to costly mistakes they require me to pay. Throughout my career I've worked with a number of contractors, but never have I had to work with such greedy, incompetent, sharks like Diamond Well Drilling. I wish Yelp will allow Negative Star rating on businesses like these. read more

We thought there was some science to well drilling. Not so. The owner "witched" what he deemed to be a good location and drilling commenced. The drillers continued and continued with only a small amount of water found. Not such a good site after all. They offered to drill at another "likely" site, but again NO guarantees. The owner and staff were very nice and seemed truly sorry for our costly loss (bench the 2 stars). We will do more research before we make that kind of risky decision again. Lesson learned. On Saturday our well stopped pumping water and was just bubbling air. We looked at the obvious causes with no luck so I started calling well service companies. We contacted Diamond Well out of Auburn and I spoke with Dave (Fulton), who I found out later was the owner. He was unable to get a hold of the on call service tech. But Dave was helpful and said you will save $75 an hour if you can hold off until Monday. So we scheduled a tech to come out Monday Morning. I ask him for an average cost of a well pump replacement like this. He ran some number and said on the high side $800. I asked, so for $1000 I can probably get the pressure switch and pressure tank all adjusted too. He assured me that was not a problem. On Monday morning when the tech came out and we decided to replace the water line in the well and the pump the tech told me we were looking at a $1600-1800 job as he had the same type install when he left my job. I spoke with Tim (Service Department Manager) and decided to have the work done as I had taken the day off and we needed water. Tim did agree to let me pick up the pump and water line when I went to Auburn to sign the contract, saving me some labor chargers. When I got there and saw the estimate (Contract was almost double what Dave had told me ) I asked who Dave was that I spoke with as he told me $1000. The brushed the question off at first and said Dave was more of well guy and should not be quoting or estimating well pump work. I pushed the point to find out Dave was the owner. I ask that he call me when he got in the office. Put a note on the contract I signed and proceeded to get the well work done. When Dave called me he told me so I miss spoke on the price. I told him that even if it was in a few hundred dollars of his price I would be fine with that, I said Dave this is double the price you told me he said no it isn't its only$994 more not a thousand (LOL). I understand the new waterline may not have been accounted for and that would have been an additional $200, and I am fine with that, He told me you singed the contract which I did and if you don't pay we will put a lien on your property. The owner of this company has no integrity and after listing to employees conversations it is apparent this is not the first time he has done something like this to a customer. I do want to say working with Tim, the Service Manager, Eric the Service Tech, Diane and Heather in the office was a fantastic experience and feel for them if this is how Mr. Dave Fulton runs his business. After some research, I will say the final price was within the average for the work we had done. I can say that had my initial phone call not gone through Dave and then no follow up call would have occurred with him I would have given the service a solid 5. Sorry to the people with boots the ground for this poor review as it does not reflect your professionalism or work ethics, but it does reflect on how your owner deals with his costumers. read more

The guys who do the service on the spot are capable and nice (hence 2 stars instead of 1) but this company routinely charges significantly more than every other company in town. We had them replace our well pump motor 4 years ago and when it just went out they replaced it under warranty, but sent us a bill for $700 in labor (it took extra time because they had to pull the pump twice due to connecting the wrong motor the first time, obviously not something to charge us for). When I called to question it they adjusted the bill for the time I wasn't responsible for, but somehow feel charging me $450 when every other company charges $300 is somehow justified. If they had adjusted it appropriately I would have forgotten the "accidental" $700 charge, but there was no real effort to charge us a realistic amount. Keep in mind, this company will charge you $175 per hour for a two man job, even when the 2nd man is clearly in training. Not a great way to do business. read more

Diamond went above and beyond to drill our well. To complete the well, the drilling team worked on the July 4th holiday and continued working until 11 p.m. to ensure the hole would not collapse before they could install a liner. The well is high producing for the area. Whatever anyone may think about water "witching," Diamond hit water right on the mark! Best of all, the total price was nearly $6,000 less than the quote we received for a shallower well from a highly recommended well drilling company in Nevada City. I came in to have my water tested and saw who I assume is the owner of the company yelling at an employee who was sitting at his desk in the main office. He was literally 2 inches from the employees face and the employee kept saying please get out of my face. Needless to say after witnessing the behavior of management I left and will not return. I will have my water tested with Placer County. As another reviewer said, I too feel sorry for anybody stuck working in that environment. read more

Diamond drilled my well about 30 ago and has serviced the system, including a water softener and pressure tank. Always professional and efficient. I also own a property management company and use Diamond for problems with the pump systems on the rural properties we manage. This weekend, a tenant had no water. Diamond was out on Monday morning and replaced the pump in no time at all. Tim, the main pump guy is great to work with . He kept me informed throughout and made helpful suggestions for long term improvements to the water system. read more

Don't just walk away, run. Greg is actually a really nice guy and the reason we went with Diamond to have our well drilled. His job is to find a quality well location and make the sale. Once you sign the contract, he's gone and the rest of the process is a nightmare. As others have said, beware of their shady contract. They have had years to make sure in the end they can charge you anything they want without ever actually finding water. We agreed to $6k worth of work before they would need to have us authorize additional costs. We never authorized any additional costs and ended up with a nearly $12k bill. Their way of negotiating is to file a lien and demand the balance. Even after paying double what we agreed to, and receiving a notarized copy of a lien release, they have not actually filed the release and our construction financing is now impacted. Calls to the office are met with confusion, excuses and then they hang up on you when you refuse to accept their excuses. The owner Dave is a confused, angry, out of touch individual that is loathed by everyone in his office. He has not problem treating his employees and his customers like garbage. Don't make the same mistake we did. Find another well driller. Even if the initial estimate is higher, you'll likely still pay less and be treated like a human being by employees that respect their boss. read more

They are honest and dependable, although due to workload, there may be a bit of a wait to get service, but if possible, I would rather wait to get an appointment than deal with some of the other companies offering the same services. read more

I bought a small piece of property near Nevada City and I needed a well, but I was worried because the neighbor's first well was 900 feet deep, and they had to drill another to replace it when the first went dry; in the end they still have very low yield. Yikes. I researched a bit and found out who drilled those wells (and it wasn't Diamond Well). On the other side was a nice 200 foot well I found out was drilled by Diamond. Wells are expensive so the 700+ foot difference got my attention. In addition, my realtor had recommended this guy, Greg, who is now a water dowser for Diamond Well. So I made an appointment. Greg was really great to work with, very informative, and in the end he totally hit the jackpot for me on a challenging site. I had used a water dowser up in Oregon many years ago and he was totally successful, so I was open. Greg let me tag along as he explained the whole process and I had fun. He most strongly recommended a site that wasn't right on the road. This meant I needed to make the long driveway first in order to get the truck in, but I decided to trust it because it put my well site further from the neighbors'. The process of drilling was nerve wracking, because you never know what can happen. There are parts that are science, and parts that are nature and not in any one's control. It was a challenging well because of the soil composition, but they found water really fast and it is clean and super high yield. Everyone involved was exceptionally generous and helpful every step of the way and I could not be happier. Great job! read more

Be very careful of the fine print and record your phone conversations. Our area was a challenge but they suggested we *keep going!* eventually water must be there.... right? Another 200ft and then another etc untill 700ft. 200 more and then they would drill 200 free if we didnt hit aqua. No water. We were talked into 980ft. No water in rock?! go figure. and they didnt drill the 200 more for free why? because it was never there. Got the full bill though! And they broke our sidewalk when there was material to properly cover and support their trucks weight with plywood. That is in the contract to - Wont cover damages done to your property even if they were just being dumb. Dont assume there is any sense to the process. That's not covered in the contract. I dont know if it would have mattered with another driller. I do believe someone else would have told us at 400ft or 600 ft that it was a pointless drill and bill. They got double off us.. so why? read more
