    Best Electric Service

    Best Electric Service

This is the second time we've used Best Electric. The first time was when we're selling our house…read moreabout seven years ago and knob-and-tube wiring was found in the attic. They were the place closest to us so we called. They provided us with rush service considering the issue and timing and explained the best way to fix the issue and did so in a very timely fashion. This time, we had issues with our doorbell. Jeff R. came out within the time promised. He was very nice and respectful. We sorted out the issue, it was fixed in an hour, and the charge was the minimum at $165. Overall, two great experiences with Best Electric!

This has just been a mess since the beginning. Best was contracted by the people we used to replace…read morethe siding. He showed up sporadically, and was awkward and unprofessional. The first time was okay, I let him inside (during COVID) even though he was doing outdoor work so he could see the space. He never wore a mask, didn't even have one, and no shoe covers either. The next time I asked him to wear a mask and I had to provide one to him. The next time (yes, this has been almost two months and the project still isn't complete) he showed up to the job with a dead drill? He needed to plug it into my house to charge, and then just sat in his van half an hour letting it juice up. We wanted two over-door lights and two outdoor outlets put in. He would leave siding open on the house showing the insulation and then leave for days at a time, even during rain storms. The last time he came over he slammed so hard that the plaster wall cracked INSIDE the house! We had two switches to be fixed inside, he did one then sat down and said he was too tired for the day and needed to go home. So he just.... left? Still hasn't been fixed. Now it's been three and a half weeks since he "finished" the project and guess what? The switches for the outdoor lights are swapped. One side of the duplex controls the other side's outdoor lights and vice versa. We've been calling this whole time to get him to return and fix the work, but no one has showed up.

I highly recommend using Current Electric!! I have pretty high ceilings (about 14 feet if not a…read morelittle more) and we wanted light fixtures with fans. Calling them and booking everything was so easy. They came and gave an estimate - then rolled in the price of the estimate into the work since we decided to go with them. They were less expensive than another company I looked at so I decided to go with them and they did a great job! One of the light fixtures I bought was broken (unknown to me) and they didn't even tell me until later that they went to get a replacement for me and didn't charge me for it! Admittedly they were unsure if they broke it, but either way it was nice that they took care of it without needing me to go get and pay for the replacement. They even vacuumed after themselves to clean up. Could not recommend more!

On Monday I tried to call for regular service but each time I called the main number I was hung up on. It said I could leave a message but then said the mail box was full and hung up. I then used chat on the website who offered me a date a week or two out. This was unacceptable for an emergency after having a lightning strike. The system that Current Electric uses is very flawed, so don't expect to get emergency service from them. I have used them before and spent thousands of dollars on upgrades but will think twice before using them again.

We've had everything from a new service panel and HVAC to venting bathroom fans. All of the guys who have been here have been polite, hard working, and willing to answer all of our questions. What did I not like? 1) Tech that came to my house spent 2 hours looking at my circuit breaker box and plugging a device into a few of my outlets, talking about a concern with "voltage drop" that might be cause of garage power outage. It wasn't, but he was looking for other services to sell me. Never quoted me for the service I needed done. 2) Supervisor came by 2 hours later to re-inforce the "voltage drop" concern. Gave me a quote. Quote included surge protectors for each circuit box that I did not ask for. After surge protectors removed from quote, it was still $4400 more than the quote of the company I ultimately hired to do the work. Tech and supervisor both got their boss (same guy) on speakerphone to discuss voltage drop concern. Would cost $200+ per outlet to repair and still not guaranteed to resolve voltage drop concern. Very suspect operation. I will never call this company again for anything. If you do, be sure to get multiple quotes from other companies.
