The service technician's attitude was a bit rude towards my tenant and me. There was an issue with the garbage disposal at my rental property, so I provided credit card information and gave the authorization to proceed with a new install. Prior to the install, my tenant and I were asking questions regarding a prior service visit made at the property and warranty information and this is when the technician became rude in tone and professionalism. The conversation with this individual was a bit off-putting so I canceled the service. Fair questions were being asked as paying a service fee prior to any work should allow for, but there was no need for his attitude to turn negative, especially when a customer has questions. I usually do this kind of work myself, but was recently hospitalized. I needed my new washing machine and sink connected in the basement. The son, Drew came to the house and connected the old galvanized pipe leading up to the sink and washer with copper. He also expanded the drain pipe leading into the concrete floor. He secured the wash sink to the floor and to the support post nicely. It took him about 4.5 hours to complete the job. It looked great, but he charged about $2,300 for the job. I knew it would be a little pricy but it was definitely more than any other plumber would charge. About a week later I noticed black residue in the toilet and bathtub and sink. I went downstairs and took a much closer look at the job, and noticed that he did not join the copper to the galvanized pipe with dielectric fittings, which is standard procedure. Dielectric fittings, such as unions, are essential in plumbing to prevent corrosion when connecting dissimilar metals. I told him that I want him to come back and do the job correctly, because I could already see black residue in the sinks and toilet. He was cocky and disagreed, saying that dielectric fittings cause corrosion. But he agreed to come out. When he arrived he maintained his cocky behavior. He said that he didn't have those fittings on the truck! Really. A plumber that doesn't have standard fittings on his truck...after I told him exactly what he was coming out to do. He said he would have to run around town looking for them and charge me about $500 for the time to hunt down the fittings, including the work. I told him to go to Home Depot and get them. He insisted that it would cost $500 anyway to do a 20 minute job. I told him to forget it and I'll do the job myself when I'm healthy. He then gave me a bill for $150 for coming out to the house. I think his father is an honest man, but his son Drew is a rude ignorant shyster. read more

Absolutely horrible. They charged $900 for installing a new dishwasher, resetting an old toilet and the dishwasher isn't draining correctly. They refuse to come back without a trip charge. I was looking for a plumber to replace two shut-off valves around my water meter that had deteriorated over the years and was able to book an appointment quickly. The good Doctor came out and gave me a reasonable estimate and booked the repair for the following week. He was actually able to work me in earlier than scheduled and, being retired, I was able to accommodate the last-minute availability to my favor. He arrived in the middle of the morning snowfall and got to work. He and his co-worker were very conscientious about my home and put down a carpet runner to keep from tracking in snow and mud....very nice. They had the two valves replaced and ready for my village's meter replacement crew's upcoming visit. They were quick, reasonable and friendly. I used the website Wednesday morning to put in a request for a service call for my water heater. I received a call from Steve later the same morning and we scheduled a time for him to come the following day. He gave me a call when he was coming over, evaluated the water heater and we discussed it should be replaced. He removed my old water heater and installed a new one in a couple of hours! We had new counter tops and a new sink installed and needed the drain lines of the sink to be connected. The son came to hook it up and said he would have to cut into the wall and lower the connection because of the deep profile sink. Fine. He said it would be $500 to do this. I knew the son was taking advantage of me and any plumber would do it for less. He was there and we waited long enough to get the kitchen back in shape. I was close to saying no but didn't. When the father showed up and asked what he was charging I could tell by the reaction I was being taken advantage of. That charge still bothers me to this day and I will not get over the fact that I was used. If you call this company, make sure the father does the work not the son. Let the buyer beware. read more

I came home from work last Tuesday evening to the sounds of a water feature in our basement. We do not have a water feature... Our hot water heater was spraying water everywhere. I would say Steve showed up at our house within 15-20 minutes of talking to him on the phone. He assessed the situation and began his work. I am a small business owner of a dog washing and grooming facility. We had an unexpected issue with a faucet in a tub that we use to wash dogs. The faucet would not work and we were in critical need of a plumber asap. I called Dr. Plumber based on a Google search, and he was able to come the same day, which I was very grateful for. He did a very good job of, according to his invoice, "replacing a faucet cartridge, handle adapter and face plate screws." The job was a little tricky, because of how the faucet was not secured to the wall behind the tub, but he was able to get it done, and it took less than 2 hours, on a weekday afternoon, at the very most. This all sounds good until you know that he charged me $480.00 for this job!!! It was a ridiculous amount of money for the time he spend and the minimal cost of any parts. I was very annoyed at myself for not getting a price upfront, but I would never have guessed a price of $240 an hour. When I called him about it, he implied that it was a little tricky, and I get that, but not nearly enough to come close to justifying that price. While his work was very good, I would NEVER hire him again, and would STRONGLY SUGGEST that you get any costs up front. I was ripped off. I know it and he knows it. read more

We called Dr Plumber when the Lowes installers couldn't figure out how to disconnect a gas line from the gas pipe to our dryer without breaking the pipe. Even though they were booked solid they were kind enough to come out and rescue the situation. When Steve arrived, he was able to quickly identify the problem and get it repaired in record time. Dr Plumber (Steve Hessil) was very flexible in scheduling within our timeframe. It is not easy to get a plumber to the house with work, kids and activities. When he came later in the evening, he diagnosed the problem, then gave me a quote. He had all the parts in his truck and got straight to work. All the work was done in a timely fashion. He finished the job, and cleaned up the mess. He then gave a bit of advice about draining the pipes for winter. Total job time was 90 minutes.
