It gets busy on the weekends; however, the weekends it's mostly the locals only. When it's crazy hot and you're tired of being inside and you want an alternative to the rivers, this is a great local option that's FREE as in paid for by our taxpayers $.

This is a pretty new park even though it's been open a few years but I would say it's a better park…read morethan any other Lathrop park. It's near an elementary school but not as close with a whole grass field between. The pathway that's between the school and park is wide and shady, filled with places to sit, workout and eat. There is a restroom at the park and on the Slate Street side closer to the school. The water splash pads runs continuously during the day in the summer because the water is recycled and filtered. They have city workers that check up the area regularly. I see them in the mornings when I go for a walk sometimes. They added a new pergola type area next to the tennis courts. More tables to enjoy and a bbq pit I believe The parking is pretty much street parking but it seems that a lot of the visitors are from the area so they most likely walk to it. Ice cream trucks, well vans come by and sometimes the school would invite Kona Ice usually on Wednesdays sometimes. Kona would usually be on the Slate Street side FYI

Fun and a great way to see more of the community and enjoy and night out with the fam for free. Brought chairs, blankets and food to munch on during the movie. They start the movies when it gets dark 8:30-8:45pm. Lot of street parking available and restroom nearby. The park offers a basketball court and a tennis court. Lots of room for dogs to run around or host a flag football game!

However, through the years, the neglect of this park is starting to show dramatically. Roads are torn up, overgrown trees oftentimes scratch RVs and way too many stray cats. Our last two visits with friends were ruined due to faulty electrical equipment but worst of all sewage backup into the camp site. This is unacceptable but more importantly, pretty sure the health department would find this to be in several violations. We would be so disappointed to have to stop coming here but these issues are happening at different sites, not sure we want to be part of a crap shoot. SJ Parks department, please do better for your customers. UPDATE: Someone came and sprayed the area. All he accomplished was to spread the sewage leak to a bigger area of the campsite. EWWWWW

Easiest way to put it. But this park has a lot of grassy area, a back stop with fence to hit baseball/softballs, a mini tennis court, and horse shoe toss thing. What I love about this park is the non bark/sandy area! So easy to take my 1 to and she can't put anything in her mouth because the ground is made of that rubber bouncy material. There's a toddler play area, and then a bigger kids one. Clean tables, with plenty of trash cans. There are no bathrooms the only negative. If you are in the area and have little ones definitely should get out and get some outdoor time here.
