The glass door is misaligned with the track and repeatedly slips out, causing it to hit the opposite glass border. This has been an ongoing issue for nearly a year despite multiple service requests. Repairs and inspections have been slow, often taking weeks to schedule, and callbacks have been difficult to obtain. When I do reach someone, I'm told additional charges may apply for repairs, which I was not expecting based on my understanding of the warranty. The warranty language does not clearly reflect the exclusion that was communicated to me. Customer service has also been inconsistent and at times unhelpful. At this point, the issue remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for glass installation work.

I hired Yianni and his company to fabricate and install two doors and one gate, and all 3 pieces has issues. The work was never completed as promised, and the lack of attention to detail is obvious. Yianni is rarely on site, and the crews he sends out shows up late, leaves early (11am to 3) and lack the skill and care required for professional door installation. The problems are numerous and undeniable: Door and gate strikes are misaligned Gate was not measured correctly therefore had to be cut on site to fit the opening. Trim is already coming loose and warping after only a few months. Caulking and sealing are sloppy and poorly executed. The trim cut along the arched door is crooked and uneven. Overall fit and finish looks unfinished and unprofessional. Arched door is extremely hard to close. These are not subjective complaints -- they are basic measurement and installation standards that any competent professional should meet without question. What's most frustrating is that Yianni personally came out, acknowledged the issues, proposed specific fixes, and assured me they would be addressed. They were not. The job remains unfinished despite repeated attempts to communicate (he will not answer his phone or return text messages) and 2k remaining on final payment... If you're looking for a contractor whose crew shows up late, leaves early, doesn't finish the job, and doesn't stand behind their work, this is the company for you. If you want a professional result that you won't regret every time you look at or try to close your doors, do yourself a favor and hire someone else.

I called Tom again for another job. My garage door stopped working. I have used him twice. The woman on the phone tells me it's a $175.00 charge to give me an estimate. This money does not go towards a repair. The repair is completely separate. I ask her if Tom could call me. She says sure. He never called. Many other companies with much better reviews than "L & L Overhead Garage Doors" will give FREE estimates. Why would I, or anyone pay $175.00 for an estimate? I wouldn't and you shouldn't. I got two estimates. It took them 10 minutes to know what was wrong. I just saved $175.00 that will go towards my repair costs. I will be honest here. I liked Tom and I thought we got along great. The first job he did with his son. A great kid. I gave his son a $100.00 tip. The second job was a new garage door that cost around $1,500.00. I asked Tom if he could look at the electric eye in my other garage (right next door). This took him 5 minutes. He asked me for an additional $80.00. Really? I liked Tom and It's his business so I won't tell him how to run it, but he lost a job that was easily his, all my future work and anyone I know that would need his services. The store employee helped us right away. Even when four other customers walked in he never took his attention of of us. The other lady employee helped those customers. We got everything except the custom beveled mirror. The price would have been more than something we saw in Home Goods. I did a search for "glass store" on google in my area however this company did not show up. I happen to notice it one day while driving down Jamaica Avenue.
