It was a 90 minute workshop in which we created some dye, painted terracotta pots, and were able to pick out a succulent to take home. I learned of this shop through social media and knew I had to check it out. Previously, Latinx With Plants did a pop-up booth at Benny Boy Brewing's Applefest, where my friends and I created our own personalized pumpkin flower bouquets with seasonal local flowers. The team behind this are so knowledgeable and eager to educate on the types of plants. The love for their craft extends into the shop itself from how each shelf is curated. I loved learning about new plant variations and even seeing plants and flowers that I don't typically see at other stores. I am a sucker for plant stores. ESPECIALLY when they're a small business. They have mosnteras, croton, syngoniums, pink polka dot plants, prayer plants, ZZ, different pothos, ferns and a lot more. Aside from plants they have clothing and plant accessories. I've been on the search for pink syngonium for a decent price. I'm so happy I was able to find a 4" one for a good price. They had several to choose from, but of course I wanted the most pink and not so leggy. They were so friendly from the time I entered the store and very open to answering questions I had. read more

this plant store has to be one of my favorites to support. it was my first time in their new location and it's filled with bright green leaves everywhere! there's so many great plants to choose from and the owner tells you how to take care of them! they offer pots, plant food, clothing, and other merchandise in the store. i got two plants that both equaled to $15 which was super inexpensive. there's not much parking but you can park in some neighborhoods nearby. there's all kinds of different plant babies here and it's latina owned which it great! not to mention they play great music in there too! read more

I have now been to Latinix twice and have happily come out with a plant or two. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly once you start talking to them. If you don't get acknowledged or have a question, don't be shy and ask. My second visit was warm and welcoming. The staff took the time to recommend me and show me some of the plants with the needs I was looking for. Although I didn't select any of the plants she had shown me, I did learn that I was missing 2 of the ones she had shown me. I will be back and hopefully pick one of those up in the near future. I'm thankful she didn't make me feel bad for not selecting one of the ones she shown me. The larger location has a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants from succulents to pothos, spider plants and calatheas, dracaenas, orchids , caladiums and monsteras. They also have them in a variety of sizes and even have some pots available of all different colors and sizes. This is a plants lovers dream! The staff as also been helpful via instagram. I have reached out a few times with questions about my plants and they have been more than happy to help out. I do wish they would have maybe a little paper that came along with the plant with the name and care for it; or I would suggest maybe even posting one plant and some info about it on their instagram for people to see and learn about it. Prices are not listed on the plants so it's a gamble or you would have to not be shy and ask about the prices. It racks up fast! So far, the 5 plants I have purchased from them are still alive after a few weeks. Looking forward in watching them grow. I was debating on how to write a review about this house plant shop. On one end, I'm torn with the beautiful decor and plant selection and on another end, I had a tough time willing to shell out the prices asked for each plant. Some of their plants are 4-5 times that from private sellers or the flower mart. If you're looking for value, I would say visit the flower mart or a local nursery, but if price isn't a factor for you, they have a good collections of plants. read more

Such a fun shop with a great selection of plant. I'm not an expert on plants so my review is definitely for the novice plant parent. But my friend loves this shop and is always posting unique plants so I decided to check it out when I was near that city. They have a great selection of various succulents and prayer plants most notably. The staff helped explain how to care for the plants I was interested in and I felt comfortable buying a new plant baby for my home. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We stopped by to pick some plants for our home. There was a good selection of plants, small plants and larger plants, succulents, cacti. We ended up selecting a Ponytail Palm. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. There seems to be a lot of nearby street parking - we ended up parking right in front of the store. First time customer. I had to pay the shop a visit. Andy, the owner's story was so inspiring. She is in Boyle Heights! Her store reflects her love for the greens. The aesthetics of the store are so inviting and it truly gives off positive vibes. She has an assortment of succulents, indoor and outdoor plants along with pottery of different sizes and styles along with other treasures. It was so great to meet her. I purchased a clay pig bowl and she was kind enough to drill a hole so I could have drainage for the plant I bought to go with it. I've posted the items I'm so happy I purchased. My friend and I were having a girls day and wanted to plant shop. Yes, I know I can buy cheaper plants at commercial hardware stores etc. however, this is giving to the community. To the cultura! Andi was so sweet and even gave me plant advice on a struggling plant I have. There's great selection and an array of things. I wound up picking up a sting ray and a golden pothos with a pot. This place is not it... at least not it for me. Some of the plants are really pretty, but kind of pricey. Ive been caring for plants for a couple of years now and this place has to be one of the most expensive place I've came across. I've seen them cheaper in other locations. I did however buy a plant and decided to ask questions about its care and I was given a "look". I felt judged for even asking, but come on now, if I am spending my money here I should be able to ask questions regarding the care for it. Overall not a cool experience here. Super unwelcoming. My review is for the 2117 E.Cesar Chavez location. I've been excited to visit Latinx with plants. It was not what I expected. First the two workers were very rude and acted like they were bothered when I interrupted their conversation to ask for a price. Even though they were hesitant to speak to me they very observant of me. They made me feel uncomfortable, and unwelcomed in the store. Even when I purchased the plants the guy held on to my card and just kept his conversation going. Other stores offer paper bags, information about the plants etc.. Not to mention that many of the plants did not look well taken care of, some of the Pothos and Snake plants had excessive spiderwebs. Hopefully my visit to the second location will be a better experience. Its hard to support local latinx businesses when they don't appreciate the support, business, or money. read more

This place is in the middle of the street with no parking or adjacent lots. Honestly the place has a cute aesthetic and vibe, however super unprofessional and rude! I was not greeted, and told a lot of comments for asking questions. I genuinely asked a question to not get an answer and told I already answer that question. The lady working kept saying that place was too much work or too expensive, without knowing my knowledge of plants or my interest in expanding my garden. I agree w other reviews about how overpriced the plants here are. Other growers and small plant shops have plants that cost half the price. Also, their re-potting service is not good. Followed after care instructions to a T and the plant wasn't doing well. Contacted shop and they said it was my fault lol. They were also talking about how badly root bound my plant was but I got it there lol. I don't think I am ever coming back here. I visited the shop a couple weeks ago and just wanted to come back and leave a review. I have been following their instagram for a while and was so excited to finally swing by. The staff who was working was so kind to us as I had brought my toddler with me. The shop was full of some beautiful plants! I saw succulents, pothos, monsteras, and more! The person working recommended that I get a pink syngonium and I've had my eye on it so I decided to go ahead and get it. I love it so much and it's doing well. It was very full when I bought it and it's growing new leaves. There was also a rack of free plants and I chose a succulent from there. I'd definitely recommend coming by and supporting this business. There's plenty of items to choose from such as pots, art, stickers, merch, beautiful plants, and much more. As for parking there is metered parking and if you're willing to walk a bit then there is parking on the side streets and in parking lots nearby. There are also some great businesses surrounding it so definitely check those out as well. read more

I've been going to Latinx With Plants since it was just out of the side of a house and I have never been disappointed with my plants or the service of the wonderful ladies who run this place. They are consistently so caring and informative about the plants. Also, I truly don't know what the other reviews are talking about...THE PRICES ARE SO GOOD!!! Some of these plants would go for wayyyy higher at other small biz plant shops. Some of these plants are even cheaper than you'd find at a Home Depot or Lowes. I drove from Ventura today in search of some houseplants. I went to the original location that was closed and they had notice to go to the other location down the street, so I walked down maybe 15 min. When I arrived I was with my friend and we were super excited. The lady working barely even gave out a hello, which I though was odd. I went inside and looked around and had questions that she barely answered. The whole experience was very unwelcoming. The prices were about the same as other plant shops, the decor was cool but for me it was not worth it. I love the plant community and I just didint feel the same warmth and energy from her. I was driving home to see they were giving out monarch kits for free, and even after buying plants she didint offer me one. Probably won't go back read more

I was so excited to spend my bday shopping for plants at this location specially because it is in the heart of Boyle heights and being part of the brown community...unfortunately, the vibes were not it! By reading some of the other reviews, there seems to be an opportunity for this business to improve the customer experience. Personally, I drove out to Boyle heights specifically to shop here. When I arrived I pulled into the little lot after already circling the block and not finding any parking. So I asked if I could park in the lot and was simply told a very stern NO. I'm sure there is a reason that the lot isn't available for parking, but some more politeness and helpfulness would have made a difference. I learned about Latinx With Plants months ago through Instagram. It was really refreshing to see a local interest in plants, especially catered to a young demographic living in east LA. Some weeks ago, I visited the shop. The interior of the store is beautiful and staff were wearing masks. I was very excited about going to LWP but I was disappointed by the lack of customer service by the owner. Upon my arrival, my greeting was unacknowledged by the owner and was standoffish. In contrast with the owner, the second staff person was warm. They addressed my questions with knowledge. It was only when my purchase was accruing that the owner showed interest in me. When I would consult the staff for suggestions, the owner would curtly respond, preventing the clerk by actually responding to me. The owner only showed interest when I showed the capacity to make a sizable purchase. Inventory at LWP was good but nothing extraordinary. They have inventory of popular plants with a few rare species here and there. Their prices are significantly more expensive than a shop at the Flower District. The difference between LWP and any shop at the Flower District is that LWP has a popular social media footprint. I was really disappointing by the owner's attitude. It damped my spirits at wanting to shop here again. read more

Love this place! Was a little hard to find right away but I was driving a night, but once I found it I immediately was drawn in! So much variety so much beauty I was so excited I right away went to looking at so many different plants and even though it's one person at the shop they are so helpful and ask the right questions I also love the little merch they got I picked up a mask that night as well!
