Artemisia is nestled into a small footprint in a kind of industrial area.

We were looking for a particular California-native plant--Hummingbird Sage. My online search pointed us to one of the few places in Los Angeles that carried it. When we got to the fairly industrial-looking neighborhood of Artemisia we were surprised at its small footprint. But we were equally delighted with the assortment of native plants and the friendly, knowledgeable service we got. We picked up three plants (pictured). So far, all seem to be happy. Also, their prices are very good! Highly recommended.

Great native plants and very nice people. Enjoyed my visit and bought many gorgeous plants. Can't wait to go back again - hunting for more areas to beautify! It is a bit hard to find and out of the way. Look for the burnt red building and small gate to their nursery.

I go to this nursery every time I feel like I could use an extra native plant I spoke with the owners, Carl and Nicole, who were both super kind and knowledgeable about their work! Out of curiosity and love for native plants, I asked tons of questions and always received a good answer! I plan to visit and support the nursery many times more in the future.

I discovered this nursery via Calscape. Purchased a great variety of 5 gallon California native plants. Drew was extremely helpful and knowledge of the plants available and the ones we were interested in purchasing. Looking forward to coming back to purchase more. Highly recommend coming here.

Artemisia is my favorite destination for all my California native planting needs. I almost feel bad taking plants away from the great energy radiating from the knowledgeable nursery staff! While the nursery location isn't the biggest, there's still a great diversity of plants to browse through, and much more can be ordered for an easy pick-up through their extensive online store inventory. In addition to a variety of CA natives, Artemisia also supplies succulents, herbs, edible plants, seeds, and soil amendments.

When Artemisia Nursery opened up in my area, they quickly became my go-to for all my indoor and outdoor plants. The assortment is always inspiring and spot on for whatever my needs are, and the prices are reasonable. In addition to all this, my experience as a customer is exceptional. Nicole, (the owner) has always taken the time to happily answer any plant questions and offer great suggestions, definitely going above and beyond the current standard of customer service that I usually receive at other nurseries. When we decided to address a problem slope in our backyard, Artemisia Nursery was an obvious choice for landscaping. Nicole and her team were a perfect choice to take on this project. After our on site consultation and listening to our needs (we wanted a useable space with multiple gorgeous-yet-low-maintenance plant moments), Nicole quickly came up with design options in our budget range. The professionalism stayed intact from start to finish. The timeframe and budget stayed the same from beginning to end and the communication was always 100% throughout the project...the energy was fun and effortless, and our stress level was zero (even though this was a BIG project). We love our new garden, the space exceeded our expectations and I'm sure we will enjoy for years to come. THANK YOU Artemisia Nursery...we appreciate all of your PLANT MAGIC!!!

Best place for native plants in the SG valley. Bought a bunch of salvia, fuschia, ceanothus and toyon from here and they are all surviving.

There are several major north-south roads in this area, and Rosemead Boulevard is one of them. San Gabriel Boulevard is another. The road is wide and easy to drive. The nursery is right across the street from Com Tam Kieu Restaurant, one of the better Vietnamese broken rice restaurants in Southern California. On the way there, I passed a construction site, probably a new apartment building. It strongly gave me the impression of an EB-5 green card project, the kind of real estate development marketed less as a normal apartment building and more as an immigration investment package for Chinese buyers. In the middle of the SGV, that feeling was hard to miss. After that came the nursery. I drove from north to south, made a left turn onto a smaller street, and parked outside. The entrance is tiny. You walk through it and immediately reach the counter, where there was even a line. After that, you pass into an indoor room stocked with fertilizers, plant stakes, soil, mulch, and other gardening supplies. Beyond that is the back garden, which is much larger than expected and quite elegant. The plants are clearly well cared for, and the stone sculptures give the place a strong hint of Chinese culture. Along the edge of the main building, there are stacks of Buddha heads, seated Buddhas, and other stone figures, mostly in Chinese Buddhist or imagined Buddhist styles, though not necessarily following any strict traditional standard. There are Chinese signs everywhere, which makes sense for a nursery in the middle of the SGV. Many of the plants have bilingual names. The prices are not cheap, but they are fair. The orchids are much more expensive than what you would find at Trader Joe's or Costco, but they are also more beautiful and much stronger, so I would not call them overpriced. The plants use different colored tags, similar to what you see in many American discount stores. Some are very cost-effective. It is definitely worth stopping by, and even more worth it if you happen to find some good discounted plants. The cashier was a little rude, but as a Chinese person, I found it completely acceptable. I have seen much worse. Even though she was in a rush, the service was not bad. She even gave me an extra bag so the soil would not spill in my car. Overall, this is a good nursery and I would recommend it. It is even better if you understand Chinese culture, because many of the details will make more sense.

The garden center is immaculately maintained & inventory is plentiful. I was looking to find a professional to recommend a liner for my planter to prevent corrosion, so I may reuse it for the next season for other plantings. Audel suggested a liner that prevents weeds from proliferating as well. It turns out Hubby has a roll in the back of our truck. Bought fertilizer that he recommended & lantana as a draw for pollinators. I googled it & it states I plant it alongside my basil, tomato & marigolds. Parking is dedicated & free. Highly recommend this nursery. Staff are super helpful & cordial. Price-wise, may be equal to home dept or more but the service is topnotch comparably.
