La Conner Marina is a great place for boaters and visitors…read more The marina features extensive covered moorage on 8 docks, two large guest docks, clean and comfortable restrooms, large laundry facility, two pumpout machines (one on each guest dock) and expensive outdoor/lawn/picnic space. Most of the slips feature finger piers on both sides of the boat, making this a very desirable location for covered moorage. As such, expect a long waitlist that could have you waiting for two or three years. Plenty of parking even when they host large events like the 4th of July celebration. Staff is friendly, courteous and very responsive to inquiries and issues. I haven't reviewed the RV park, as I haven't stayed there, but as a casual observer, the park is clean, reasonably lit without being too bright, close to the restrooms and laundry, and a short walk from town.

The first weekend was last summer, and the second one was this past weekend when we "glamped" there to once again meet up with friends who were docked at the marina for the weekend. The RV park is definitely no frills. The sites are close together, the trees are few and far between, and the sites don't include picnic tables or firepits. But they are all full-hookup, the park is well maintained and quiet, and you can't beat the sweet streets of downtown La Conner being just a quick walk (or even quicker drive) down the street. There's also a bathhouse with toilets and showers, all of which were immaculately clean. (You can get the door code from the campground host at RV Site #1.)

They really went the extra mile to make sure we were able to see orcas as this was not close by. The pod had a NEW BABY! Such an exciting experience. Not only that, they were also having fun socializing and slapping their tails. Then we saw some glorious breaching. It was honestly such a great experience. We were in awe!

It's a level, rocky beach, with some driftwood - perfect for exploring, beach walking, or just sitting on a log and taking it all in. There's a bit of a rough parking area (watch out for potholes) and zero facilities, so keep that in mind as it's a bit of a drive to the nearest restroom. This would make a great beach for kayaking or canoeing, as the bay it sits on is semi-protected and seemed insulated from the wind. Note: the map indicates there's a boat launch here, but there is not. There appears to have been one at some point, but it's been mostly washed away and covered with rocks and driftwood - definitely no way to actually use it to launch anything but a portable watercraft.

The store is small but has a few essentials for a day out on your boat. Ice, water, sodas, snacks and a selection of boat supplies including oil, fuel stabilizer, rubber gloves and soap. Complimentary coffee is a nice perk. Quantity discounts are available. Open 8am - 6pm seven days per week during the boating season. Open 9am - 3pm on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during the off-season. They're willing to accommodate bulk fuel purchases outside of business hours if you call ahead.

Gordon…read moretells me to send him a deposit and he will have boat detailed on 7/3/23 or 7/7/23 whichever I prefer. I select 7/3 for detail and send my $407.00 deposit. Day of scheduled detail 7/3 Fresh Start is a no show no call nothing, I finally text Gordon and he tells me they are busy and he plans to get my boat done in late afternoon and he will keep me posted. I go back to boat nxt morning no detail, no show, no call, no txt, nothing. I wait several days until the next scheduled detail date Gordon quoted 7/7/23 and no show, no call, no txt, nothing again. I finally get a txt from Gordon late afternoon 7/8/23 saying they are going to detail my boat 7/9/23 and that he is sorry for delay. Im out of the area that day but return in the eve 9pm anticipating checking out my freshly detailed boat finally. Upon arrival at boat I find the cover off, Fresh starts power washer inside boat on upholstery still connected to water line that is on and dripping all over boat, orbital polishing machine, numerous detailing supplies etc all strewn about the boat and about 1/4 of the side of boat polished. I call up Gordon and say what the heck, why isnt the boat detailed and why is my cover off overnight with your equipment and supplies all over the place?? He replies with " we had to leave because they were closing marina" and " I'm not sure what your concern is ?" I check the marinas awesome surveillance video cameras to see if Gordons story checks out. I find Gordons crew arrives at aprox 1pm leaves at 3pm doest even come close to even 1/2 completion of boat and leaves aprox 4 hrs before marina closes. I txt and call Gordon and request tha a refund of deposit because of several missed scheduled dates and unprofessionally leaving cover off overnight and careless storage of his equipment in the interior of boat. Gordon tells me he will not refund deposit because his crew has completed over 3/4 of detail. I say boat is not even 1/2 completed, Gordon says he will meet me the next morning at 8am to discuss the matter. next morning Gordon is a no show,no text,no call,nothing. I call Gordon again and request a refund of deposit and ask that he pick up his equipment and do no further work on my boat. To date Gordon and Fresh Start Marine have not responded to communication on refund of deposit they did however come and remove there equipment and leave boat 1/4 of the way completed. These guys at Fresh start Marine are a joke, completely unprofessional and straight up lied about the duration of time spent on boat, video cameras don't lie! I would stay far and clear from Fresh Start Marine Detail!

This experience was better than my wildest imagination! I booked weeks prior for Thursday May 28th…read more I got there early to check in. The location is on the dock on front street above an ice cream place. The staff is super friendly and appreciated my early arrival. We got a short talk about safety and what to expect. Then we donned suits to keep us warm and dry. Tip: use the hat they offer and gloves. The hood doesn't keep the wind from making your ears cold without holding it tight around your face. I ran to the dock and met Captain BJ who would be working with Allison our guide. The was helpful and allowed me to sit up front. I was more excited than a kid on Christmas morning. The boat starts and we leave the harbor. Then we started going really fast which was so awesome! We saw a sea otter playing in the tide current. There were harbor porpoises. But the steller sea lions were enormous and stunning. They were subbing themselves on the rocks. The piece de resistance was the orcas! A pod of orcas was hunting a lone steller sea lion. We must have sat there over an hour. Other boats gathered and we all watched. I'm not shy in admitting I was deeply moved. I cried a bit at how awesome this experience was and seeing beautiful orcas was on my bucket list. My favorite part was that this is a small business. They are locally owned and have a focus on conservation. The boat pulls water from the ocean to propel itself forward which means no gas, propeller or noisy engine that stresses out whales. We stopped to remove a mylar balloon from the water. I love when people practice what they preach! We continued and saw more eagles, rhiocerous ocelot, and more harbor porpoises. By the end my heart was full. Captain BJ said this was his second favorite trip of the year this far. I beamed all the way back to the office to return our gear. Tip: go to the whale museum when it opens at 11am then come here to see real whales. Do this whale watching tour! Best bang for your buck you will ever get!!
