Lots of shade and cool at around 5p in July! *Not terribly crowded when we walked here...hidden gem! *Good sized grassy area to set up sports practice, have a picnic, or rest awhile...when I was here there was a kids soccer camp with just 2 groups of kiddos CONS: *Cobwebs in the drinking fountain near the playground...bring your own water! In fact, there was a flag football game going on when I visited. The park is very well kept and has a lot of good things to offer. It offers BBQ stations, drinking fountains, a shaded structure with tables, restrooms, hot coal disposal, modern playground equipment, and basketball courts. The gazebo is rented at $353+ and you will also be charged with a security deposit (refundable). The food gets cold very quickly. No candles or food warming element can stay lit as the wind keeps blowing them out. Table cloths are flying over the food, etc. All decorations are blown away. Terrible terrible experience. All of our efforts preparing were wasted. No electricity as it turned out it's a separate request in advance and additional fee. So what I suggest is before making a reservation, visit the park first and see for yourself. I wish we read the reviews first.

Welp that was it, as I approached the dog area w/my dog on leash the pitfall started barking, so the person got up and started going through her stuff. The pit continues barking, but the tail wags a bit....But then the lady comes over with a leash and clips the pit. I asked her if the rottie was dog friendly - no clue what she said. She then puts the handle portion just over the fence post. I told her that's not secure nor safe, and she mumbled something I couldn't understand. I think she went to get another leash, but I told her that's okay we would leave as I don't feel safe with her dogs. The rottie ran along the fence line barking at us (rolled down back window) as we drove out - I guess they were mad we didn't come play.Not sure if you can make out the pit in the photo, he/she isn't big, but I don't want need any problems for my dog or myself. - especially if the dogs ganged up on my dog or me. I don't believe in breed targeting/discrimination, so the fact that these two are deemed "aggressive" breeds by society's standards has 0 bearing here. Just wanted folks to be aware of this lady. It's hard to make out the pit, in the right corner. Without this lady (I feel like she's a consistent customer here), I'd rate this place a 3-star since it does cover the basics.

Community Parks create memories for birthdays, holding hands, kickball, learning to ride the bike and sometimes relaxing under the sun. By the way this is a good park to learn to roller skate. Montgomery Waller is surrounded by homes, near schools, the community library, senior housing and actual vibrant neighborhoods. It is quite a beautiful layout of this park. From a couple of baseball fields, full on outdoor basketball courts, paved walkways and walking trails, and play areas. It's a lot of land. If you can't social distance here, then there's a problema. As you walk the unmarked course around the park you may see cheerleaders practicing, litte league baseball, Pop Warner football, AYSO soccer, father's pushing baby carriages, celebration of birthdays and dog walkers. I really enjoy how this park is elderly friendly and safe. The paved walkways is very clean and flat and no cracks, crevices or unleveled ground. There are several manageable inclines and declines. If I was too start a walking or running club I would train at this park. In fact, I see groups doing yoga, tai-chi and cartwheels. It's biiiig. There are two areas of play structures that will likely become boring after a couple of times because expansion needs to happen. The rec center where classes are offered is atop the hill and classes are usually free. I saw Zumba having a blast. Also, there are dog poop bag boxes which offer free bags. Don't let your dog poop on the paved clean walkway. The cons to this park are a few: Limited toilets. I saw one outhouse, and two single toilets in this big park. I guess because this neighborhood is 90% diverse, perhaps they don't use toilets. I guess. Cause this is ignorant for this space to not have real toilets around the entire Park area. The other con, is the walkway should be marked with mileage markers. Parking is available in the lots or around the park. I come here once a week and enjoy it a lot. It is mostly an unshaded park from morning to evening. It's not impossible to find shade but it is a task. Bring your umbrella and/or canopy. You will thank me later. Absolutely, I would recommend this park if you are near the area. Would I make a special trip? Ummm, probably because it is a best kept secret; many people don't know it exists. If you're a trainer or have an exercise class or meet up outdoor meditation, this is a perfect place to do it.
