What had happened was, the beam of my deck was sagging. It was becoming very obvious to the point that my neighbor brought it to my attention. Fence and deck connection are the contractors who built the deck. So I called them to see if they could come make the repair. I sent them a picture and they responded quickly! I was given some information & guidance about reaching out to my HOA, which I had not thought of so that was helpful. They gave me options for the repair and all I had to do was choose the time frame. The overall the experience was convenient as they sent me an invoice. I was able to pay a portion of the bill until after they completed the replacement. They arrived promptly, actually early, on the agreed upon date and the beam was exchanged within 2 hours. If you live in the Savannah area, I'd advise you to find another fence company. Although the Rep was very professional and seemed to care about the quality of the work being done, the installation was subpar and we continue to discover problems months after the installation. The chain link has already loosened and sagging. The chain link posts for the gate were installed too close together. The vinyl gate is already sagging and drags due to improper installation. Buyer Beware Run Away! Fence and Deck Connection is an unprofessional organization that "installs" fences poorly. Don't beleive me, keep reading. We hired Fence and Deck Connection to install roughly 10 feet of privacy fence and gate. We assumed that they were professional enough to plan, execute, and provide quality control for the project. Well none of that is true. Chris, the project manager, failed to plan, control, or lead the project. He delivered the wrong plans to the crew which put the fence in the wrong spot swinging the wrong way. The first attempt at our fence was wrong in every way. They had to come back--take it all down and rebuild it from scratch. Chris povided no leadership or quality control during the process. In fact, he couldn't be bothered to come back and check the work. On the first go the crew dumped dry concrete mix down the fence post holes and when confronted about it Chris attempted to claim this a dry pour. He said that this will harden with ground moisture into solid concrete. The crew that installed the fence on both occasions were not properly equipped to do the job given that the fence parts are not even cut to the right dimensions. To be clear we just left the "fixed" version with its poor install quality alone becasue the issues aren't worth having the fence rebuilt a third time. Things like the gate not being even, or that we were told by Bob, who is Chris's boss, that the fence was going to need be adjusted by September-- 5 months after install. The company treated us with a lack of respect and a lack of professionalism when it came our justified complaints about the wrong install, poor communication, customer service and workmanship. In fact, Joel told us that it was essentially our fault that the fence was wrong for providing the wrong plans, when the company was in fact in charge of that. Leaving aside the blatent deception with the "concrete" with no water-- which is all on video. I am sure this low-grade company will try to convince you that we are unreasonable customers or that they fixed it so all should be forgiven. Sure, we are unreasonable for thinking they should do a good job. Yes we are unreasonable for thinking that we should not have to watch them to make sure they do a good job. We are unreasonble for being insulted with a $100 Amazon gift card as a "good faith" gesture as if the issues weren't that bad when they had to completely replace and remeasure all fencing and gate. The time for them to make it right was immediately, and to leave a good impression started on day one. They left us running away. They demonstrated a lack of professionalism--sneaking onto our property to install the fence the first time saying nothing and sneaking away saying nothing when finished. The project manager couldn't even be bothered to keep the basics straight. Where the gate goes, how big it should be, where the posts go, what plan the workers needed-- nothing. This company is utterly incompetent and no matter what deal they offer you it is waste of your time and money. read more

Five years ago, when we moved into our current home, we had a vinyl fence installed by fence and deck connection. I recently noticed that the gates on the fence were no longer aligned. I reached out to the company and they came out within a day of my phone call inquiring about free adjustments to assess what needed to be done. Even though I was told the leadtime was 4 to 6 weeks, it was not even two weeks later before a crew was out to make the necessary adjustments. The three man crew was polite, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They definitely knew what they were doing and were in and out within several hours, and that included a trip to get some parts. If you're looking to have a fence installed, I would definitely recommend you give this company a call to provide an estimate. Most unethical and unprofessional company! We had our fence built in 2018. We went through the painstaking process of getting approval through the county and the correct procedures. They told us they built three inches less our property line so that if our neighbors ever built a fence, it wouldn't encroach on our property. Last week, they built our neighbor fence and used the whole left side of our fence as her fence. I called to talk to them and said it's not their problem. That we're still 100% financially and legally liable for the fence. We're still paying for the fence. So our neighbor gets a free fence that Fence and Deck willingly built and we are stuck with the bill and sharing most of our fence. This company is trash! If you like being tricked and paying out the nose for a fence with horrible quality. This is the company for you. read more

We had 3 estimates for a deck installation. Fence & Deck had the best pricing by a large margin, and they were able to start work a few weeks after we greenlit the project. Jake was out point of contact, and he was absolutely amazing. He kept us super informed with every step, letting us know when the permits were being approved, ect. We had some last minute changes and that was simply not an issue. The whole planning process was seamless and just hiccup free. It was important to just feel you made the right decision at the point in the project, and they did just that. Work day!! The crew must not be human as they began work in 17 degree weather. I worked 10 years in landscape construction and was impressed. We had a few super minor concerns pop up (old patio removal, ect) but they handled it with ease. I am happily impressed with this company and their response to customer service. I had to wait a couple of weeks for the person to come out to access the fencing area, but they told me it was due to an influx of request because of the dicey weather (high winds, rain, etc) we have had. After a couple of weeks, the guy Jimmy came out measure the area asked for my wishes and sent me the estimate a few days after. Once I accepted the estimate and paid the deposit, I was contacted shortly to set up a time have the fence installed. The day of the installation was smooth. The guys were very nice and hard working. Although my irrigation system had some damage to the install, Fence and Deck Connection immediately responded to my email (and it was on a Sunday) to assure me that it will be fixed. I can't say it enough that I am really impressed with this company and their strive for great customer service. My irrigation was fixed that week and I cannot be happier. Our entire experience with Fence & Deck Connection was amazing from start to finish. They were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. Our estimator (Eddie) was so thorough in explaining our options and asking us lots of questions to ensure he understood all aspects of our project and what we were looking for. This experience contrasted sharply with the estimates from other contractors we received for the same project, where the estimator seemed like they were in a hurry and didn't give us any information about their company, material and construction options, etc. Eddie went through all of this information in great detail, so the estimate we received was exactly customized to our preferences, down to the style of pickets in the front yard. This really set the tone for the whole experience and was the reason we ultimately chose Fence & Deck Connection for this project. The estimate was very reasonable, especially considering the emphasis they obviously placed on craftsmanship, which was something no other company discussed - we knew they would do a quality job and take pride in their work. We decided to pull the permit ourselves to save a bit of money, and the process ended up being really difficult with the county due to some restrictions about our lot. The team at Fence & Deck Connection was so communicative, helpful, and patient during this time while we worked everything out. They gave us advice on how to proceed and provided us with new drawings of the project to satisfy the county's changes. They helped us sort out the changes in the estimate and financing. Even with Covid in full swing, we were able to start the project pretty quickly. I decided to go with them for the deck build because they offer a lifetime build warranty on top of the manufactures warranty for the composite decking. My build wast easy.
