They gave me a key with a huge wooden keychain so it would be hard to lose the key. Made it hard to walk around with. Later on after I was getting settled I went back down to the desk to ask 2 simple questions and the person at the desk didn't know the answers to my questions which was a little weird. Maybe a new staff member for the summer. The room had that quaint, countryside feel. It does have a musky scent when you first walk into the room. Once you're in there for a couple of mins you don't notice it anymore. Everything was very clean with the exception of the tub in the bathroom that had some hairs left behind by the former guest and some microscopic bugs by the sink. It was great having a full fridge and microwave which I used both. No stove or oven so keep that in mind. The temp in the room was great and can be changed whenever you want. The bathroom has small vials of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath/body gel - keep that in mind cause I'm always used to hotels having a huge refillable container of all those products. The TV is a regular tv with local and national channels. No logging into different streaming platforms if that's your thing. The Pool - spent a little amount of time there. The temp of the heated pool was great. Towels are available at the pool. The recliners aren't the most comfortable for a position to read but I made do. Breakfast - I went to the little nook in the morning for breakfast but only got a coffee and hard boiled eggs once. They had cereal, and some other items. I'm not much of a breakfast person. Parking - lots of parking. You'll register your car with the front desk. The only comment on this is that they need desperately to redo the lines in the parking lot cause it was hard to tell if they were specific spaces at all. Location - I think the location is perfect to hop down to Fish Creek or another neighboring bay city. It was central to everything I felt and Fish Creek ended up being one of my fav places to hang out and walk around. So many shops and restaurants.

The condos are nicely decorated and very clean. There is basic kitchen cookware and utensils. They always have Door County coffee, which is really good. I like the big jetted bathtub in the bathroom. There is also a shower. This resort is off the beaten path but that is what I love about it. Every room has a view of the lake. The beach and resort grounds are very nice. I like to enjoy the open windows and patio doors to hear the waves. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub. Both are nice. And clean. The restaurant right next door is amazing. Super cool inside with great drinks and food. Make reservations! I think the prices are inline with other resorts in DoCo. Super friendly staff. I know I'll be back next Fall!

Our room had everything we needed: a kitchen with all included dishware, paper towels, coffee filters, etc., a nice updated shower with good water pressure, a fold out couch/sofabed (which we used, so it was definitely a necessity!), flat screen smart TVs with all the hookups for your apple TV etc if you choose to bring it (this is a must for us in the evenings since we like to watch our shows and chill out before bed) and a balcony with table & chairs to sit outside and enjoy the view. Our room was a bit humid - since we had the wall unit A/C and a fan in the main bedroom it never fully cooled down to where we would have liked it, but it was tolerable (we were out and about so much during our time in Door County, so we really weren't at the resort too much except to sleep!). I maybe heard a small amount of hall noise here and there but very rare (we were on the third floor). I never heard any of our neighboring units, so that was a big plus. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. We used the washer/dryer and ice machine, as well as took advantage of the free coffee (delicious!). We also needed to print a couple of documents and were able to do that on a computer near the front desk on the second floor. We did not use the pool facilities, but both the indoor and outdoor pool looked very clean and many people were using both daily. The housekeeping is a bit unique in that can specify if you would like someone to enter your suite to clean/empty trash, replace towels, etc. or if you would just like replacement items (if this is the case you can fill out a dry erase form and place it outside your suite).

The property is surrounded by woods, which gives it a peaceful, cabin in the north-woods kind of vibe. The lake views are really gorgeous but good luck getting one... By the time we checked in all those rooms were taken, so we ended up with a stunning view of a parking lot and some trees. Postcard material, if the postcard is from a rest stop! Walking into the room, the first thing that hit us was this strong, leftover food smell - like someone had just cooked something super spicy and the scent decided to stay for the weekend. It wasn't exactly the fresh, clean place we were hoping for. And to top it off the other side of the building had its own thing going on - its own kind of funky, musty odor that hung in the air. Not AWFUL, but noticeable. Not the kind of scent that says "welcome" more like "something weird went in the walls". The room did not do itself any favors either, there were dust, and dirt in random spots, and when we made the mistake of checking under the couch and cushions, we discovered a little time capsule of old food crumbs and debris. Cozy! It looked like the furniture had not been updated in a while - unless " 1990s cabin chic" is making a comeback. On the bright side, the shower actually worked pretty well - hot water, great pressure. Honestly that was probably the highlight of the room. Outside there is some tennis courts , and a basketball hoop. Which is a nice touch if you are into that kind of thing, ( or if you need to burn off frustration from your room situation.) Overall the Landmark has potential - the location is solid and the grounds are peaceful - but the rooms REALLY need more attention and care. If they put in the effort to clean better and refresh the interiors, this could be a great spot. Until then, maybe bring some freshener, and DO NOT look under the cushions, and keep your expectations in check!

We (Harv and Paige) found the Inn in the B&B section of DoorCounty.com. When we saw the photos on…read morethe Inn's Web site, we fell in love. We were lucky to find eight days in August available. We both have health issues; they were all handled easily and flexibly. We stayed in a restored 1902 Dutch farmhouse, filled with antiques, but renovated to current comfort standards. Few Dutch farmhouses can boast a playable grand piano and a wood-burning fireplace in the parlor! The nearby barn is now a gallery and art studio. Both are surrounded by ten acres of grass, gardens, and paths. Monarch butterflies munch milkweed in a garden. Paige saw a hummingbird feed at a flower near her head while she relaxed in the pergola. A gazebo gives refuge from the sun. The Inn is midway between Door County's "coasts," away from the bustle of the tourist towns, but a short drive from them. It's far enough from town lights to be a dark sky location, where we could lie on the grass one night to watch airplanes, satellites, and meteors. What a treat! Our hosts Ed and Frank are multi-talented, funny, helpful, flexible, and full of wonderful stories from their travels and Ed's painting trips and classes. With extensive culinary backgrounds and as long-time residents, their restaurant suggestions are exceptional. Frank designs and maintains the landscaping and provides extraordinary breakfasts. The artistically arranged fresh fruit cups are a delight. Frank works in ink, pencil, and ceramics. His antiques background shows in collections of cut glass and teddy bears -- a few such among many. Ed paints in watercolor, gives classes, teaches workshops in the U.S., Mexico and Europe, and has showings in the gallery. He's a visiting faculty member at the Kansas City Art Institute and has had work in many national shows. We each bought some of Ed's and Frank's work. The Inn serves adults only; no pets are allowed. There are three rooms, one with a private bath; the other two rooms share a bath. The shower is exhilarating; the beds are very comfortable. Rates in 2019 are $135 and $149 a night. The Inn is an oasis of calm amid Door County's somewhat hectic pace. After hearing Ed's and Frank's stories about visitors returning year after year, some from the Inn's beginnings, we were surprised to see only one two-year-old Yelp review. We now think it's a well-kept secret. If you found this jewel, you might not want to share it. We enthusiastically recommend the Inn at Windmill Farm. We've already booked for next year at the height of the Perseids meteor shower.

Ed and Frank are two amazing innkeepers!…read more Where to start? This was our second stay at the Inn, and found both stays to be exceptionally enjoyable. This is a small, 3 bedroom B&B farm house. It is located fairly central in the Door County peninsula, allowing both easy access to most places one would want to visit, and the most amazing star filled skies only available when you are not near a town. Staying at the Inn, a most wonderful and lovingly prepared breakfast is included. Fresh fruit, home made waffles, perfectly crafted scrambled eggs! They will also adjust per your needs or requests. Rooms are quaint, with just enough farm house character to make them fun, while allowing a good night's sleep on very comfortable beds fitted with soft, freshly laundered sheets. The gardens are welcoming and comfortable. There is a patio with delicious grapes hanging from trellises, and flowers everywhere. Just the right amount of artwork is scattered around, but the focus is always on the growing beauty. Ed is also a watercolor artist who teaches classes in part of the restored barn. His paintings can be purchased, along with a wide variety of antiques or artwork in their shop. All of these elements of the farm form a cohesive experience. Each part compliments the other, and even staying only a long weekend, our souls were nourished.

She gave us good recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The grounds are very well kept and every cabin has a view of the lake. We stayed 4 nights in September in cabin #4; the a view from the living room is included. Try Sister Bay Bowl for a wonderful fish dinner and be sure to climb the tower in Peninsula State Park. The tower was recently rebuilt and includes a ramp to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. The White Gull Inn, just down the street, has won awards for their stuffed french toast. The Cottages are in the heart of Fish Creek so walking to your favorite destination is very convenient.

Loved the outdoor spaces, including the fireplace which is lit every night at 5pm. Great place to meet other travelers and swap ideas on where to eat, shop, hike, see... Their sign was impossible to read, too many shadows due to raised letters. But the exterior of the hotel is easily recognized.

Also, have you ever stood next to a lady in a store that had WAY too much powder or lotion or perfume on? Thats what the hallways smell like - they have a scent that sprays regularly. It's STRONG. Thankfully they don't spray the rooms, but if you're sensitive to scents, it'll probably overwhelm you. Wouldn't stay here again.

She has a sitting room with books and pamphlets on things to do in the area as well as restaurant menus on nearby places to eat. The room was nice and clean with our own whirlpool and fireplace with a shared balcony. She brought breakfast to our room around 830: a pastry, egg bake, and parfait with OJ that were tasty and we were able to eat in bed. Checkout isn't until 11 which is nice if you want to sleep in and not rush getting ready. There is also an associated lakeshore with chairs and a fire pit which we enjoyed. We would return here if we came back. It was a romantic place to stay.

The "breakfast" each morning was delivered to your room at 8am. The biggest thing for me was that it was brought uncovered so unless you got it within 2 minutes of arrival, it was cold. It has great potential if the place was updated and the innkeepers tried harder.
