I really wanted the goat yoga experience to be similar to other animal yoga classes I've attended in the past, but was sadly overall very disappointed. First of all, the class was extremely overbooked - there were way too many attendees for the size of the room which left only about 4" of space between everyone's yoga mats. It was really uncomfortable being next to strangers as you couldn't correctly do the yoga flow without entering their personal space. They truly were under an arm's length away and you couldn't even put your arms out without touching someone. Because there were so many people, the class was extremely loud and the yoga instructor (very nice woman) had to yell over everyone. You still could barely hear her to follow along with the flow. They also had loud pop music playing which felt like an odd choice...if you are someone who gets overstimulated easily or wants a calming experience this would definitely not be enjoyable for you. They only had 3 animals in class. All of them seemed extremely uncomfortable and overwhelmed with the amount of people and the noise. They were leashed up the entire time and walked around the room to each attendee by their handlers. They had to pull the animals around the room at points because they clearly were overstimulated and didn't want to keep interacting with people. It made me feel really weird because even though this was the case they still were being made to climb on people's backs instead of just letting them rest. The poor babies also kept slipping on the hardwood floors while walking around and when jumping back down to the floor after being on someone's back. It felt terrible to watch. They also charged $10 to rent a yoga mat which is the most expensive rental fee I've ever had to pay. To this charge on top of the $50 ticket felt wild to me. Overall, I would not recommend this place for this type of class. I cannot attest to what their standard yoga classes are like but definitely look elsewhere for something animal-oriented. I've been to other studios doing these types of things and they are WAY better of an experience and much more cautious of the way the animals are cared for. read more

I decided to visit LA last weekend with my boyfriend and we were so excited to try a goat yoga class. Laughing Frog and their rescue baby goats and lambs didn't disappoint! They were only six weeks old and it was so fun to see them learn to climb. UPDATE - all the prenatal yoga classes have been cancelled, just attended my last one yesterday and found out after asking why the prenatal classes dropped off the schedule. A huge bummer since these classes were great (restorative, helpful, nice way of meeting other moms) and there aren't that many prenatal yoga classes on the westside. It's located in the city of Los Angeles and on the second floor of a strip mall area. I've seen videos of this goat yoga and my friends wanted to try it out so we decided to get it done! You need to actually book your time in advance so it won't get filled up. It was super fun and we had an awesome time!! Yes the baby goats will go on you and they do sometimes pee and poop but that's just natural. It happens. Still even with that we were able to do some yoga, meet some people and adored the lovely goats!! They were super cute!!! The goats are super friendly and oh they also do bite on hair so bring a hair tie. This yoga class brought me so much joy and happiness!! I signed up for the 21 day unlimited special (which is a great deal!) and have taken two "let go & flow" classes so far - both of which have been top notch! The teachers are welcoming and give great instruction. The classes have been unique, challenging, and invigorating. The studio itself is simple, calming, and clean. This review is for the goat yoga class! My roommate and I had a blast. This is by no means a 'serious' yoga class; phones, pictures, and not paying attention at all is completely welcomed and expected! There were definitely a few moments where I completely lost track of what the instructor was saying because a goat jumped on my back, but it was totally fine. This is meant to be a cute and fun experience. The two baby goats are encouraged to jump on your back and run through your legs with treats by their owner. They're never forced to do anything. Keep in mind that these are living creatures and they are not potty-trained. They will have accidents from time to time, and it is possible that the accident could be on you or your mat. A guy next to me was all pouty because his yoga mat was peed on (understandably), but the goat owner is very sweet and she was there and ready to clean up any messes immediately. If it happens, just be warned and lighten up. Everything can be cleaned! At the end, there is a photo-op with both of the goats in front of the gong. The price is a little more than what you'd pay for a normal yoga class, but I really think it's a unique experience worth trying at least once! I lived in LA for just over 2 years and was in the Westside the entire time. One of my biggest regrets is not finding this yoga studio until the last 5 months that I lived there. It probably would've helped a lot with grad school stress! This studio really has a sense of community. People are genuinely there to take care of their health holistically and mindfully, not just to do yoga to try to "look good". The teachers also embody that. Sonny is super knowledgeable about the body/spirit/mind connection and created a beautiful community experience, where everyone felt seen and heard. BAA- freakin' cute way to start your day. Who knew kids (baby goats) were natural jumpers?! Yes, B A B Y G O A T S! So at the start of class, the staff and instructor do a fab job of welcoming everyone and getting situated. All I brought was my phone and mat since the instructor disclosed in the beginning of class how the little guys may distract greatly from the practice- indeed, they did. As long as you keep a flat back, the kids will jump! On a few rare occasions, and during mid-jump, the little guys will drop gifts in the form of poos and pees... consider yourself blessed. [Supporting staff does a great job at quick and efficient clean up.] My #1 suggestion for those who crave insta-worthy vids and photos is propping your phone on a small soft shirt in the front of your mat. Although I can't talk much about the classes as a whole (I mostly go for deep stretching), the classes so far have effectively nurtured my body and increased my overall sense of well-being.
