Do you guys have hot yoga?

hi matias, no we don’t. we heat to 75-80. with a lot of bodies in the room or in summer temps, the studio will get to mid-90s but we don’t do the 104 thing. thank you for asking.

    Are there prenatal classes?

    Are there showers?

    No.

Do they pay close attention to newbies? I need to stretch and rev up my body, but am 73 and will need a couple of private classes to see what my limitations may be. I love the reviews!!…

yes. ask jayco. he will help you.

It's like when you're having a rough day and the cashier at Trader Joe's cheers you up. Even the membership card scanner says happy birthday to you! The maintenance staff is always friendly and say hello. The womens locker room is clean. There's rarely any towels just laying on surfaces in the locker room. I never see litter. Doesn't smell gross. Some lockers have broken hinges, but there's literally hundreds to choose from. I like the new glute and cardio equipment. I've taken a few classes- kickboxing with Steven and Robert and then the mobility pop-up. Steven is more cardio kickboxing while Robert is more about technique. I enjoy chatting with Robert. We always have fun convos. I want to try the cardio dance class. I feel like that would be fun. Shout out to Nic and Donovan. They were the ones who welcomed me on day 1. I miss Gabby's playlists! That being said, the disinfectant wipe order needs to increase. I go through about two wipes per workout- one when I hit the strength machines and the second one when I hit cardio. Or maybe a bottle of disinfectant like how planet fitness has disinfectant stations (2 bottles and a roll of paper towels). See you tomorrow!

You should expand to new locations around LA. With that said, there is one area of improvement to work on. The lobby. It's outdated and needs a refresh. 1. The black and white photos in the lobby scream 1989. They need to go. Move the very cool "graffiti"style oversized poster to replace the black and white photos. It would look amazing. It's the perfect background for photo opportunities and Instagra. 2. The brass symbol sculpture needs to go. Its weird. It's broke. No need to prominently display something broken. Move the two randomly placed oversized black framed artwork on the back wall to replace the brass symbol thing. 3. The branches on the front counter with string lights look cheesy and cheap. They need to go. Buy 2-3 tall table lamps to go on the front counter instead. First impressions count. These small changes would significantly improve first impression of the gym. Thansk !

This 'studio' is located in a strip mall that shares space with nutrifit, oop sushi and saki, a korean kbbq join, massage parlor, thai place and hair studio. Parking is compact and capped at 30min although it didnt seem to be a problem for me when i was there for this class Next the studio itself - it's super small and only fit 8 of us comfortably (instructor included) youre literally doing yoga in a hallway The walls are adorned with canvases of the instructor in various poses and there's supplies (matts, blocks, pillows in the back Theres also various teas up by the front door (for sale? Not sure) I did not like that he adjusted without asking the class permission first with who was comfortable being touched - although he seemed to adjust regulars so maybe he knows theyre okay or have provided consent - i did like that when he adjusted he had a pashmina between him and the person he was adjusting For an all levels class some of it was basic and i felt like it could have been a faster pace for a vinyasa class - but when we did certain balancing posture homie took it past intermediate and went straight to advanced positions lol *he also recorded/streamed the class* could have been in the waiver but it wasnt explicitly stated. Had i been aware beforehand that he would be recording i likely would have left Not sure i would be back personally, it was a free class pass credit and for whatever reason cp wouldnt let me book with my normal studio

It was my family's last week here in the US, and we've been climbing here for the last two summers…read morewith little issue. The staff *before* was quite friendly. I've been/was climbing for 7 years and have a good amount of belaying experience. Further, the routes are not very inclusive in terms of height at higher V levels, and do not contain as much variety. The lead/top rope walls are extremely short and barely qualify, around 15m tall. You would be better off going to Sender One in Westwood, that has a BIG variety of problems from competition to fun dynamic routes, finger strength heavy, slabs, and more (excuse my horrible description). The test was unnecessarily difficult in the sense that they need you to "describe" the knot as some "parallel lines" rather than acknowledging being able to tie it properly, due to some language barriers which prevented me from describing it properly. They only accept the "PBUS" belaying during the test, and disregards what they call the "Yosemite belaying method," which they allegedly only use outdoors?? They do not specify beforehand what sort of belaying method they wanted, and provided little information as to why when asked "we just do it that way". It is also odd because a more experienced employee has and had accepted the other format. Inconsistent. I have also been able to get the belaying license the first time round (2 years ago) using the "Yosemite belaying method." This method is the most widespread in Asia, with all belayers (coaches, climbers/friends) alike uses it. They do have a kilter board?, which can be interesting as you have access to an unlimited amount of routes which I don't see often in other gyms. There's some sort of small gym upstairs with weights, cardio equipment, and space for recovery which is convenient and comfortable to use. Bathrooms are always clean and spacious which is nice.

There are some spots reserved for Rockreation, but it wasn't clear whether it was staff or anyone could use it. Upon walking in, the staff welcomed me and directed me to waivers - the usual. Afterwards, there wasn't much of an introduction, though I wish there was. I started bouldering on one of the walls until I felt uncomfortable... it was in fact a little higher than normal. Turns out, that one is for ropes! On the topic of ropes, there are many options to climb with ropes. I navigated to bouldering, since that was my preference. The grades are a little different with some translation into V#. Pros of this? You feel less discouraged by climbs that may be hard while respecting ones that may look easy. Cons? The tags were super hard to find! Where they the small circles? The tape? There was a giant boulder in the middle of the bouldering section that was also fairly stacked with holds but not really set. Overall, I have to admit that I was underwhelmed with the bouldering options, and it is definitely one of the smaller bouldering gyms that I've been to. They do have a nice upstairs workout area, though!

Having been to many CorePower all throughout the United States, especially in the southern California area, I can say the studio is pretty average. It's a bit old and needs updating. There is nasty old carpet throughout the entire facility and the paint and surfaces are worn down. They do have one large yoga room that has mirrors on two walls, which is preferable to the mirrors on one wall that seems to be the new trend. The worst situation here is the parking. Westwood has serious parking challenges, and that you only get an hour and a half of parking when you come to this facility is nowhere near enough time to park, get to class, take a shower, get back to your car. I ended up paying $3.25 for just going over by a couple of minutes, and that is charged on 15 minute increments so it adds up quickly. The instructor was a substitute for my yoga sculpt class and she was fine. Her music was contemporary and upbeat. The class was, as the style of classes very hot and humid. The room was filled with 20 year old girls. There were only two young guys there and no one over the age of 40. I personally would avoid coming back to the studio as I didn't enjoy the vibe and the carpet on the floor really grosses me out. TL/dr: not my favorite Corepower Yoga facility

Unfortunately, this studio has gone downhill compared to others. The rooms are no longer heated to the same level as other CorePower studios, many of the strongest instructors have left, and there aren't enough C2 classes on the schedule. What ultimately led me to cancel, though, was the pricing. Over the past year, my membership rate was increased twice, despite being told it would not go up. I also know several long-time members who have either canceled or moved to other studios for the same reasons. It's disappointing to walk away after so many years, but the value and experience at this location no longer justify the cost. Know that they will keep increasing your membership!
