This place is dirty. It's $3 to wash a load of clothes in the cheap washers. There are 10 dryers that absolutely no one uses along the wall. I'm not sure why, but I'm not willing to find out. This place does have parking that is reserved for this business. That's the biggest bonus. The people using this place seem nice. I'm sad this is the laundromat they have to use. read more

This place has improved 100% with new ownership! It has been updated with new painting. The new owner has plans to put in newer machines. It is cleaner. The other plus is a parking lot. read more

Well, my review could be biased- I haven't been here in over a year...however I spent two years living down the street from this place and never had the negative experiences the other two reviewers had. First and foremost a lot of establishments have owners that have ESL issues- don't be so ethnocentric and afraid of other cultures, just because there is a language barrier doesn't make someone a moron- speak a bit more slowly and use gestures.. With that, there is only one person, I believe the wife is the person who has a bit of an English barrier...I don't think it's as big of a deal as the others stated it to be. Also, the laundry facilities are always clean and much cheaper than the competitors down the street. They don't have their hours posted- but they open at 6am and close at 10pm, last load 8:45pm... I gave such a high mark because especially during the winter, the owner/older man who works there would walk down with me to my apartment and carry my laundry so I wouldn't have to worry about the ice/snow. He also was okay w/me leaving countless times to go run errands and did always keep an eye on my stuff. The big tip here is smiling I think- if you're nice it's amazing what people will do for you or act towards you. read more

I found the facility to be clean with a variety of machines to accommodate small to extra large wash loads. Prices were very reasonable and coin machine is on site. The dryers run at 10 minute intervals for .25 cents each so I did need to run them about 3-4 times to fully dry my load. Attendant working was friendly and helpful in helping me select a machine. Convenient location in the Edgewater neighborhood. I will return again. read more

Nobody likes to admit to using a laundromat, especially if you reach a certain age where it's expected you might have facilities as such in your own home. But here I am, needing such a facility. And I'm glad I chose Laundryland to fulfill that need. There's nothing fancy here. The decor is late 1970s chic, with dark orange countertops, brown brick walls with arches and outdated wallpaper throughout. But the owners and workers are friendly, prices are cheap, the machines work great, it's never terribly crowded (yet always somewhat busy), and you're in and out of there in just a couple hours. Great drop off laundry service with Marilyn. To give you a frame of reference because I'm horrible with guessing the weight, I fill up an entire blue bag that you get at IKEA with dirty clothes and it costs me $20 to have the clothes washed, dried and folded. Marilyn even air dries my delicates and stretch garments! Only downside is that Marilyn isn't always working and when you call to check it's rare someone answers. What I recommend is going in person the first time and confirming when Marilyn will be there. After that just ask her when she'll be there the next few weeks so you know when you can drop off again. Excellent service! It costs me maybe $15 more per month to have Marilyn launder all my clothes than if I did it myself. Timesaver that's money well spent. read more

Laundryland is one of few Laundromats left in the area, and It's a very nice Laundromat. It's very clean and the washers/dryers are operable. The Laundry attendant Marilyn is great, she's very personable and helpful. I noticed some older reviews that gave a poor rating. I really like this laundromat a lot. Marilyn and all of the people who work here are very welcoming and polite. I did wash and fold 3 times and self-wash 1 time. The place is quite clean and the machines are in good shape. I used this place when my building's laundry room was being totally redone. I wouldn't mind using wash and fold again! read more

Not bad. Wish they had more seating but sometimes I duck over to Lovely Too or Walgreen's during the wash cycle. The machines here agitate more than a home washer, so put your unmentionables and lacy bits in a lingerie bag to protect them. The dryers work well and staff are on top of things. read more

This place is a complete rip off!! As another reviewer said, there are no hours posted, and the dryers are horrible. My white shirt worn only once looks like it was ran over by a car. Black streaks everywhere from the dryer. The employees don't speak English and can't communicate or answer any of your questions. To top it off, the dryers are 25 cents for 6 minutes!!!! I've been here several times to wash comforters or blankets that don't fit in my apartment washer/dryer. I recently went here for drop off service and it was amazing. We had two weeks of laundry that would have taken days to do at home, but Marilyn at Laundryland had it taken care of while I was at work. Incredible time savings and for much less $ than I expected. Everything was folded nicely, smelled wonderful, and was of course clean. I might make drop-off laundry service a habit! read more

I DID like going here because it was clean but today I was folding my clothes on the table and this old attendant who barely spoke English came up and rudely said "MOVE!" I looked puzzled because I didn't really understand why he wanted me to move but he said it again "MOVE!" I was about to walk out and take my business somewhere else but I had more clothes in the machine. What do they have tables for if you can't fold on them?? read more

I have been going here for over a year and have liked it but will no longer be going to this laundromat after the experience I had on my last visit. A woman who seemed to be a regular and friend of the manager started berating me the moment I walked in with my laundry as I stood at an empty table near her, saying I needed to keep my dirty, stinky laundry away from her. She escalated and started cursing at me and my partner until we felt unsafe. Meanwhile, she was chatting with other customers and the manager politely. I am used to encountering the occasional laundromat weirdo and am pretty adept at sidestepping any confrontations, but this interaction (with lots of expletives) lasted for the duration of my time there finishing my laundry. Before leaving I attempted to talk with the manager, who merely responded that she was surprised to hear about my experience because the woman goes to church. I plan on avoiding further negative interactions by finding a new laundromat since this woman is a regular... If you go here, try not to engage with anyone who might be a little off balance. read more

It's all about Marilyn. I had an issue with my apartment's laundry and hadn't been to Laundryland before, but as soon as I walked in, Marilyn greeted me and asked if I needed help. I inquired about the drop-off service, not sure if I'd do it, but she said "Leave it here and enjoy your night, come back in an hour and a half!" Everything washed, dried and folded within 2 hours, for under $15. Definitely going back! read more

I asked the attendant how much they charge for drop off laundry. She said it depends on whether it's a "big" bag or a "small" bag. I asked how much do they charge per pound (as is the fair method of charging for this service). She said they don't charge per pound. How much for a bag, I asked. $20 sh said. There are no hours posted ANYWHERE in this laundromat. I walk past this laundromat all the time and I've never seen it empty. I stopped in before bringing my laundry here looking for hours and found no information. Other laundromat's close at 10 or 11 pm, so I assumed I had plenty of time when I went there at about 7:15 pm on a weeknight. By the time I started drying my clothes, I heard an employee turn away an arriving customer saying they were already closed. The employees either didn't speak English well or did not feel very comfortable talking to me, but they did not tell me they were closed. After I saw them lock the doors and turn people away, I spent a very awkward 45 minutes trying to gently dry my clothes without ruining them. I was not successful; almost all of my clothes are shrunk, faded, or otherwise damaged. One employee did helpfully point out that some of their dryers are cheaper than others, and for that alone I'll give them 2 stars. Overall a very creepy and awkward experience AND my clothes are in bad shape. One brand new shirt looks like it's been washed 50 times. read more
