DISASTER!!! So with a few days left I decided to drop off some dress slacks and a gorgeous white shirt that were already dry cleaned. A couple wrinkles here and there but I wanted them crisp for my event. I asked them to press only. The day of the wedding I came to pick up my clothes. The white shirt had a nasty grease stain and possibly some hot sauce splatter on it. I freaked out with hours before the wedding. Either they threw my stuff in with dirty clothes or someone careless was working on my shirt while eating their lunch. I can't express how upset I am with my wardrobe plan ruined day of. I came back in furious and threw my $120 shirt over the counter and told them to keep it. NO STARS!! Highest prices around and bottom rate service. Do not trust this place with anything other than synthetic garbage. Thanks a lot! read more

10% of my shirts are returned with ripped elbows and I've never had this problem with any other cleaners. They took the liberty of stitching one without asking recently. I've was a client for a little over a year and I've had my clothes mixed up with other customers twice. Cash only and paper tickets only (lose it and you're SOL). Hard to say you love a Dry Cleaners, but I so do. The owner remembers me by face, and asks me questions about my life. She has photos of her clients' children on her wall, if that tells you anything about her friendliness. She once offered me a rice cake from her lunch, and it was delicious. Only downside is she doesn't take credit card, but it's not that big of a deal. read more

It's just overpriced. I had them fix buttons on a coat, stitch a couple pockets and dry clean a coat, and the bill was over $60.. I was just and didn't argue. I even assumed it was an error, but then when I went back a second time to replace two zippers on a hooded sweatshirt and a winter coat, my jaw dropped when they asked for $120! They don't offer prices up front, and they don't post their prices. The woman looks at your clothes, says um pensively and then puts out a number that's ridiculous. Don't go here. Sad! I have been taking my cleaning there for almost 4 years and during that time enjoyed great service. J&S is a cash/check only business. Falling $8.50 short of cash one day, l ran home and returned to pay up immediately with a check. I had dropped of a fancy blouse for cleaning at that time. I did not have time to return the next week. I returned 29 days later with my claim check and another drop off. I was accused of not having paid the $8.50 that was supposedly owed AND I was notified that my blouse was missing. They informed me that I had already picked it up. I insisted that I paid any balance owed to them. They insisted that my blouse was over the "30 days - Not responsible" threshold. Disappointed, emphatic dialogue ensued on my part that I HAD paid and where was my blouse. The proprietor intimated that maybe it was given to someone else and she would review their live recordings to determine to whom the blouse was given. But since the didn't believe that I was not in arrears with them, they fell back on the 30 day excuse. I went home and called my bank to send a copy of the cancelled check and returned the next Saturday. They gave me my last drop off without charge, promising another review of their live recordings to see what happened to the blouse but after 30 days....... I still have the tickets because I insisted on keeping them. The dates are clear that it was only 29 days. So I believe they gave my blouse away out of pique, thinking I had not paid the $8.50. Watch out for the one who cannot speak English well. She was the one who have my blouse away. Yes, sad because the relationship went sour for no reason and no attempt on their part to reimburse the loss. read more

I want to preface by saying that up until this particular experience, I have generally been very happy with the service and quality at J&S Cleaners. I have been taking my clothes there for 2-3 years and live just down the street. But I just had an experience where I will never use their services again. And I basically never post reviews on Yelp unless I feel it's truly merited. I have a shirt that was on the pricier side that could be washed at home but I never would for fear I would ruin it. I've brought it to be cleaned numerous times and there's never been issue. Last night, I went to wear the shirt to an event and noticed the color on the front pockets had bled. Upon further inspection of the shirt, I saw that every single seam -- from the collar to the sleeves to the placket (where the buttons are) -- had bled. I still wore the shirt and brought it in to show Yeung (sp?) the owner. She immediately said it could never happen there, that they always follow the cleaning instructions from the manufacturer and eventually essentially told me that because she doesn't remember seeing the shirt that I never got it cleaned there. Fact: I have gotten the shirt cleaned there many times, most recently in the last 10-14 days. I asked, "so you're telling me there's no way, ever, that maybe, just one time the shirt could maybe have been laundered at the wrong temperature or possibly ironed or pressed by hand." She flat out said no. She asked what I wanted her to do and I said to accept some responsibility that she the shirt was ruined in the cleaning process and to replace the shirt. She said, "I can't believe you're doing this to me," when I said that she was losing a customer and that I'd never come in again. She didn't seem to care and took no responsibility whatsoever. I will never go back to J&S Cleaners, which is too bad because I like Yeung and the work up to this point has been good--and it was very convenient. But you can't call a customer a liar and expect them to return. read more
