I came to LaFace for a double eyelid surgery. I had never had any type of cosmetic procedure done before, so I was very nervous about the whole process. However, Dr. Phan and her staff were excellent and made me feel at ease. At my initial consultation, Dr. Phan explained the procedure clearly and answered all of my questions throughly. She was meticulous in making sure that the procedure would result in the outcome that I was looking for. The procedure day went very smoothly. After getting numb, the staff carefully walked me to the surgery room to get situated, even asking me what kind of music I wanted to listen to! I felt almost no pain during the procedure, which I'm sure is because of Dr. Phan's expertise. A week after, I got my stitches removed and was happy with how I was recovering and looking. Now it has been about a month and a half since my surgery date. I am extremely satisfied with how my eyes look, and am excited to see how it continues to heal! I arrived to my appointment a few minutes early and the office was closed. I called the office number and the voice recording gave a totally different address. I thought maybe that was why the other location was not open so I drove to the other location and there was no office for Dr.Phan in Los Gatos. I called the office number again and that time a person answered the call and directed me back to the Saratoga location. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00am and it was 9:30am by the time I reached the correct location. During my initial exam the tech measured my peripheral vision and actually pulled up on my right upper lid so that scewed the results and disqualified me for upper blepharoplasty that would have improved my peripheral vision for driving. I asked Dr.Phan why the tech did this but she changed the subject and started talking to me about dry eyes. This whole experience seemed sketchy to me and Dr.Phan did not seem interested in my question about the peripheral vision problem I was having and that was the main reason I consulted her. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Perhaps her speciality is "plastic surgery", but I would NEVER trust this doctor to put a patient first. My doctor sent over a referral and wanted me to see a specialist "as soon as possible". I have a history of eye cancer in my family. Dr. Pham's office insisted there was nothing available until October! No consideration for me, my pain or health. Would NEVER go to this office or doctor!!!! Your response is incredibly inaccurate and irresponsible. I am part of a medical family. I know what patient care is like and your office DID NOT respond in any way considerate of a referred patient. I only ended the call after I asked BOTH your front staff, and then your office manager for the option to be on a cancellation list or to be considered an emergency visit. I was told neither was a possibility. I know many / most medical offices that allocate time for emergency visits. OR, you could have offered to recommend a practice that does more than just eye jobs. This is actually my first YELP review. I give others the benefit of the doubt, and I don't hold grudges. But the fact that you blamed me for your failure to help others is astounding. I will be writing a letter to the doctor. I also know referrals are an important part of your business and success. Dr. Phan, I appreciate your response but I am 100% sure that I returned your office's confirmation call on Friday. I can post that phone record as well. But it's ridiculous to go back and forth with you and to be told by you and your staff that you do not believe me when I told you that I returned the confirmation call on Friday because it wasn't "documented" in your system. Why would I lie about that? Your office clearly has issues with its process of recording appointment confirmations over the phone AND by text. Just take responsibility for both mistakes. Instead you blamed me for your mistakes and no one did anything to make amends with me. I had to leave work 3 hours early and arrange for friends to pick up my kids at school to make it to that appointment. You and your staff don't seem to appreciate the sacrifices patients make to get to an appointment on time during a workday. So I want other potential patients to know how you treated me and I sincerely hope that you change your process of confirming appointments and treating patients so that the same thing doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Phan. I have monolids with a very low crease, and a droopy left eyelid; she was able to fix my left eye and it literally looks like my natural eye before it drooped! The surgery was in the office, and I only had local numbing, so I was a bit anxious, but Dr. Phan and her staff were very comforting and it only took what felt like 10 minutes. My experience with the surgery, which was out of the office's control, was that Ideftly some pain and asked for more numbing twice. (She disclosed to me during the consultation that I may feel pain, but I chose to not take any pain medications aside from Tylenol) Dr. Phan was very responsive to my needs during surgery. After surgery was done, she had me open my eyes to check of my lids were even before she finished tying the suture. I also felt a bit disoriented after surgery. I also couldn't wear my glasses and I can't see anything without them, so that could be why. The staff was nice in getting me seated and putting my post-op items in bag for me. The staff and doctor explained to me what to do to take care of my eye. They were also nice in walking me out and a staff waited until my ride came to pick me up. During the week my eye was healing, i called the office a couple times because I was being paranoid about the healing process, and they were really great in addressing my concerns. I then came back a week later to remove stitches, then a month later to check again. It's been over a month now and I am so happy with the results and my experience that I kinda wished I didn't wait so long to get it done. Thank you Dr. Phan and staff! read more

I whole-heartedly agree with another reviewer in that if I could give Dr. Phan ten stars, I would! Before coming to see Dr. Phan, I have had cosmetic surgery on my eyelids. Things did not come out right and another surgeon did a revision. It got worse! I went to see yet a third surgeon and he recommended that I see Dr. Phan since she is apparently the "go-to" person in the South Bay for difficult eyelid surgeries. I was really scared now that I was considered a difficult case. Coming to Dr. Phan's office, I was expecting an uptight meeting since she's from Johns Hopkins and all. I was pleasantly surprised; the office is like your good friend's living room - comfortable and inviting. Dr. Phan was friendly and down-to-earth. She was really concerned that more surgeries would be detrimental to my natural looks as well as cause further injuries. However, she was sympathetic to my cause and outlined a plan. She very clearly explained her plan and asked me to take time to think about it. No rushing, no sale pitch, no exaggerated promises. Bases on the incredible experiences others have reported, I trusted Dr. Phan and we proceeded with my second eyelid revision surgery. It went smoothly and she was always available afterward to help with my neurotic concerns. The results? Fantastic! It was more than I expected. I look great. I met Dr. Laura Phan in 2015. She was very straight forward and honest. She made me feel comfortable and told me what she felt would and wouldn't work for me. This year i had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Phan again and had prp done by her. She was quick to answer all questions post procedure and her staff has also called just to check in. In my experiences with Dr. Phan, I can say I feel she takes her patients conditions very serious and offers good advice. I love Dr Phan. I had to have eyelid surgery which was not considered cosmetic. She was so good a explaining everything to me. I was so nervous to halve it done but she sHow me pics of others she had done. I went without anesthesia and just got numbed. It was all fine. I healed perfectly and barely any scar shows at all. They had bad customer service here. She left the impression that I must be poor since the way I dress was in jeans and regular clothes. I did not get any procedures done with Dr Phan and I will not be getting any from her and wouldn't if she was the last plastic surgeon on Earth. She did a horrifying thing to me during my first and only consultation and I am still horrified 2 months later. I went to see her because I have bags under my eyes. The first thing she did was use her fingers to pinch and pull the skin under my left eye and hold it straight out, to show me how the skin had lost laxity while she explained how her surgery would help take care of it. She pulled it so quickly and so without warning, I was honestly shocked, but she kept talking as if she'd just done the most innocuous thing in the world. So I figured yeah that was weird but she's a surgeon, the first plastic surgeon I'd ever been to, she specializes in eyelids, so she must know what she's doing. (Ha!) I was taken aback but the consultation went on, and she seemed very confident. So okay, we continued discussing my options, and then a few minutes into it, before I knew it, she reached up and she did it again!l! Making the point again about my lax skin, as if that first demo wasn't explicative enough to make her point. Again, for whatever reason, I still trusted that she was the professional while I'm just a layperson, so we kept talking about the surgery she wanted to do on me. Finally we were wrapping up and, before I got out of the chair, I swear she did it again a third time! No warning, just reached in and yanked on my delicate under eye skin on the same (left) side for now a total of 3 times. What the actual #^{%?! I don't know what beauty secret she knows about stretching people's delicate skin but even I have known since I was a teenager that you treat that part of your face with the greatest care. Ugh! I am mad at myself for not demanding she get out of my face the second she ever touched me. I'm still traumatized by it and glad I didn't get any work done by her. God knows what she'd do when I'm lying there helpless and she's holding a knife. It wasn't until I spoke to someone who previously worked at a plastic surgeon office that I realized just how messed up that entire eye-yanking episode with Dr. Phan was. That should never never ever happen. Not even one time! One thing Dr. Phan told me was that the eye bag fat removal procedure she wanted to do would stretch out my skin even more so she'd have to suture the sides and that would make my eyes look smaller. So I told her I'd have to think about it and get other opinions. Last thing I'll say is I was still kind of in disbelief as I was leaving, and she instructed her assistant to write up a quote for the surgery and a day later this person emailed me one page with $5000 on it. No itemization, no note thanking me for coming in, let alone acknowledging my trauma, just the one dollar figure. The doctor had mentioned it would cost more if the procedure was done in a surgery center and about 3 days later they emailed me a quote for that, which was on the order of $10000 but didn't include the anesthesiologist fees, so who knows what all that would come to in the end? Weird place. I mean WEIRD. I STRONGLY recommend if you have eye bags or lax skin that you want repaired, go anywhere but here. Dr. Phan has a bedside manner that just might make your problem worse before she attempts to make it "better." Don't even get a consultation there and, wherever you go, don't let anyone yank on your delicate parts even if the person has all the credentials and should know what the hell they're doing. In fact, tell them up front not to touch your skin without due caution. I don't mean to hurt Dr. Phan or her practice, but I want people to know this was my experience and I am still deeply troubled by it and I don't want anyone else to go thru what I went thru. Dr. Phan wrote all my instructions for after care down so I didn't have to just remember her instructions. She takes time with you and never makes you think your questions are silly. Dr. Phan is not only an excellent physician but also a talented artist. I have been going to her since she opened her practice in Los Gatos in 2013. She does not push anything on me and tends to be conservative, always telling me that less is more. She does an amazing job with just Botox and fillers alone. The best thing is that she achieves great results with very little product, thus saving me a ton of money. I stopped telling her what I want and just let her do her artsy thing! Very disappointed by my consultation about lower eyes filler. I came in an appointment scared about doing this procedure and I left from the office more scared. Dr. Phan immediately started to talk about only risks from doing fillers under eyes, not of advantage of it. She looked like she did not care at all and not wanted to help me. I had another consultation today with Dr. Peter Levin. While I am still uncertain about doing filer, I would recommend to do with him. Dt. Levin office takes very seriously their patients. Prior my appointment I was told to bring my younger pictures and come without makeup. My appointment almost last 45 minutes. The checked my vision and took lots of pictures from different angles.
